If your friend said something bad about anime (and you want to give him a lesson), what anime do you think will change their perspective if they watch it?

I hope you all understand what i meant haha :D
I would recommend AOT to break his impression that "anime is just for kids"
Let me know what you think.

Nothing. I'd let them keep their closed mind and leave them be. Also if they said it in an insulting way they'd be no friend of mine.

The thing about people actively insulting anime without having any experience with it, is that you can't convince them and it's a waste of breath. Let them stew in their misery, your time is more valuable than that.

It depends on what they said. Obviously.
There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.

not the best choice considering AOT is labeled as shounen which is intended for a younger audience (love AOT and doesn't seem kid friendly).
If you are going for that shock and awe The beginning of Elfen lied works perfectly, I would also say Gantz.
Berserk may not be the best choice due to some yaoi undertones which non-anime fans may not be use to and he would just have something else to say.

Zetsuen no Tempest.

This is definitely the definition of masterpiece.

Then as a bonus I'll give him
- Darker than Black
- Parasyte
- and even SAO the GGO arc

when you want to convince him that Anime isn't just for Kids, I would say that Shingeki no Kyojin or Death Note are really good for that. I don't know what interests your friend has, but I think both of them would fit. Personally I prefer Shingeki no Kyojin, but when your friend doesn't like that Titans, Monster stuff show him Death Note :D

Akame ga Kill! and Fate/Zero might be good for that as well :)

Most of the anime people watch here aren't for kids and are not supposed to be for kids.

Kids will watch anything though, so only there is where I'll be fallacious.
