I was at the Japan vs UAE game, kinda bitter than UAE won by penalties but in the end there was no one to blame but themselves. Japan had I think 19 corners but none of them went in, and they had a ton of shots at the goal which only one went in.
Even though the Japanese supporters dominated (and I mean DOMINATED) the UAE supporters, in the end we couldn't make it through.

Best of luck to the semi-finalists and let's hope Honda will get better at penalties!

I support Japan at World Cups and the like, but I'm over the moon they lost here. Draw has been blown right open for Australia to win. I picked UAE at the start as my second team in that official thing the tournament did, and boy did they not disappoint.

Iraq beating Iran was also nice. Would be great if they could also dispatch S. Korea. But even if they don't I'm confident we can beat them this time. They won 1-0 in the group stages, but we dominated that match and rested players. Would be great to win this cup on home soil, and as a bonus we'll get to be in the next Confed Cup.

Would have been nice to see a Brighton comeback, great week for the FA cup though. Could be a decent chance of a non prem team winning it this year

Yesterday was a clear reason why Arsenal needs defensive help and hopefully Gabriel Paulista can provide the necessary boost that the team so desperately needs.

What an absolute mental Game that was between Atletico vs Barça.
-Penalty
-2 red Cards.
-5 Goals
-Alba getting hit by Linesman flag xD https://vine.co/v/OTVQJWT6YTz
-Arda trying to hit the Linesman with his Boots. xD https://vine.co/v/OTYZP3ZQXvI

Barça played in Atleticos hands and couldn't deal with the pressure. However their Trio once again bailed them out.

Jack Cork for £3 million? What a bargain that will be if we pull it off. Hope it isn't just his agent pushing for a new contract.

Signed Jack Cork for £3m, what a bargain that is. I would've thought Southampton would be keen to tie him down considering the inevitable departure of Schneiderlin in the Summer, so quite surprised he was available.

Nothing particularly exciting happening here. No rumours or anything.

Only notable departure was that shitty clumper of a Saints defender we had on loan moving to Millwall. Bassong played in the midweek u21 game vs Mönchengladbach so I guess he'll be almost ready for the first team now, so that makes sense.

Desperate for us to bring in a left sided midfielder. Or even try Olsson there with Garrido in behind.

Disappointing to see officiating is just as shitty in the Championship as it is in the Prem. Watford had a player wrongly sent off less than 30 seconds into the game. Also had to laugh at seeing Norwich below Wolves despite being 18 goals better off in terms of goal difference.

AUSTRALIA WINS THE ASIAN CUP!!!!

However, I have to commend South Korea, who didn't give up and scored a wonderful equalizer. Truly, worthy of being called Asia's greatest of all time.

It's too bad that it had to end with that rather sloppy goal, but it was a good game nonetheless. Well done Australia.

Obviously not. Depends on how much it's a part of the sporting culture in the place you're brought up in. Like for example, baseball is the USA's most popular sport but on the other side of the world, it's a really dull-looking sport.

But everyone likes basketball, though.

What a great performance,5-0 against Villa and we could've scored a couple more.

We played extremely well up front, took advantage of Villa's mistakes and scored.Defensively we were good too, except for a couple of times.Anw great win,I hope we add to it.

Also nice to see Ozil and Walcott getting some goals,it's definitely going to boost their confidence. And Apkom looks really promising

I was really hoping for Akpom to get his first senior goal but it was Hector Bellerin getting the glory with his first goal. It was a promising win but we really need to hope to have Alexis Sanchez back next week because there was times in the first half where i felt there was a lack of explosion that Alexis can bring. Akpom has the promise to be explosive though, I'll be very interested to see him more come off the bench this season.

while I was at the match to see FC Utrecht go down 0-2 against PEC Zwolle, Arsenal won 5-0.. wtf happened over there?

FCU lost their 6th game out of the last 7 home games, this has been a horrible week for them already with a robbery and a clash between Kali and Petersson, resulting in a broken jaw for Petersson, so a win to ease the pain would've been great.. but yeah, wasting chances and losing the ball too much resulted in losing. I miss Toornstra :(

I believe Aston Villa has scored 11 goals in 23 games this season, and haven't scored a goal for a club record 6th match. They're having some major problems. Some how they aren't in the bottom 3.

Easily the best result of the season for us so far. Lots of first team regulars missing but dug in and earned a well deserved win after some fantastic defending.

I'm happy that he's finally getting recognition at Feyenoord, he has been one of the most underrated Eredivisie players of the past few seasons.

Yeah next week we're going up against Tottenham,it will benefit us if Alexis is back, for I just hope he will be fully recoverd.

Apkom must seize every opportunity he has until Welbeck returns,so he can prove to Wenger that deserves more playing time, because Welbeck will be the second option for a striker.
