Like seriously nearly every single anime that I watched has cicadas' cry in it.
I don't know maybe it's just me. It doesn't bother me though I'm just wondering why

Because they have cicadas crying in Japan, therefore they use in the anime that take place in Japan? Probably.

Is that chirping supposed to be crying? Or are you using "cry" old-school style?
Anyway, watch more anime, it's not all that common really.

I started noticing this two years ago. It just makes me wish summer would get here faster. I am so sick of this gray sky. No fun playing sports outdoors with that shitty sky.

I'm not telling you to go watch SoL. I meant you probably do. In Japan, the cicada is associated with the summer season. The songs of the cicada are often used in Japanese film and television to indicate the scene is taking place in the summer. And most SoL settings takes place during summer.

The fact that you don't watch a lot of SoL and notice it this much will make it harder later on, lol.

To cause the "I love you" to not be heard, which in turn generates a fuck ton of cheesy and unnecesary on top of extremely cringeworthy romance drama? God I hate it.

I have already finished several anime, but I don't remember hearing them "cry" or even seeing them... Perhaps in some filler episodes of Naruto or Meitantei Conan? But I'm not sure, I don't remember! Do you have some examples?

You can hear a lot in SoL animes or just animes with summer's setting like Barakamon or Anohana.

i live in a country where commuter trains are common, and let's just say that talking at a train station as a train goes by is pretty exactly like what happens in them animes

That is because cicadas are extremely common in japan and and are closely related to to summer. As such they are often used in Japanese film and anime to show that a scene is taking place in summer.

It may happen but for one is it retarded to tell our feelings in that situation, and even if you do, telephones exist, you call that bitch and ask her if she got your message. Bam solved. But instead lets go trough 3 awkward episodes of cringy drama cause thast apparently what the otaku like.

Yeah, I see it everywhere. It's just something that's distinct in Japan, probably helps set the tone of the scene. Just like how it's "better" so say "oh! It's snowing!" instead of just "it's winter" mentioning cicadas is more distinct than just saying "it's hot" or "it's summer".

I watch a lot of SoL so I see it a lot but I don't mind it at all, and IMO actually helps add to the ambience.

This is something I've often wondered about myself. I do agree that you tend it hear it more in SoL anime. Also, I often hear it in romance and comedy anime usually during the start of the episode or if the anime setting is set in the morning.

Personally I'd much prefer the sound of bird's chirping for a nature motif and just in general.
