| I'm not entirely sure on this account. In my opinion, it would be classified as ecchi, but in every ecchi anime I've ever seen vaginas are censored. I believe for it to be a hentai there has to involve productive sexual activity with at least one person. I may be wrong though. What do you think? If it would be classified as ecchi, why are they never showcased in anime? This topic probably sounds incredibly stupid, but I'd like to hear your thoughts. |

| Actually here on MAL it is the other way around. Sex scenes alone don't make an anime a hentai. For example 'Aki Sora' is only classified as ecchi. Only if an anime contains exposed and mosaic-censored genitalia it is classified as hentai. Even if the show itself focuses more on story than sexual content like for example 'A Kite'. |

| No, there are actually some few old classic anime show children penises and vaginas and are not classified as hentai. I think this depends on the level of detail, and mainly the nature of such nudity. You wouldn't normally see this in today's ecchi, there might be some ecchi classics I may not know though. When detailed, but the nature is not sexual, it usually becomes "hentai with plot". |

| if sex is the focus then I would call it a hentai, if there's just a sex scene in the series then I wouldn't consider that hentai or ecchi. Just look at a mature show like golgo 13, it has sex scenes but you wouldn't call that a hentai or ecchi show |

| I'd say yes. I remember hearing somewhere if any adult genitals are shown it'd be pornographic. Japan is okay with showing children genitals on normal tv for whatever reason. |
