Three shoujo came out in the same week and KamiHajime was the only one I didn't watch because I thought it would be cliche and stupid. I started it a few weeks later and it's actually the best one out of the triple shoujo LOL. So creative, likable and funny! |

It's heavy with classic shoujo anime tropes, yet it was the funniest anime released then (especially episodes 1 and 2), and the best shoujo I've seen since 2012. Glad they decided to make season 2, which will air in the Winter, so I'm looking forward to seeing it. |

I also remember getting really bothered by Nanami's VA, found her voice quite annoying, maybe due to the amount of times I've heard her say "Tomoe!". The comedy didn't appeal to me either. None of the secondary characters were memorable. Didn't understand why some stuff in the story happened, the underwater incident, jumping off the building. Stuff like that. Maybe a 2nd rewatch would change my mind.rothrock said: I found Kamisama Hajimashita pretty cringeworthy tbh. Only liked the OP. Out of curiosity ... what was (cringeworthy)? Although the underwater thing (I'm just assuming you mean the one with the dragon guy) is partly foreshadowing. And I think it was a bit different in the manga. |

What did bother you the most? Most of the story stuff is mend-able, but if the comedy fails, then it's that. I liked exactly this, because it's the only one source of this type that uses facefaults excellently - think of Ranma's romantic comedy brilliance minus the hydro-cephalic character designs. Also, you'd be amazed how much the fantasy theme is overused in shoujo manga, for decades, in every possible setting - from smut to psychological horror, but Kamisama, albeit light in content, brought fresh air and made me enjoy it :) |

I read the manga too and it does it a bit better. Also a Yamaken fan... ;; Although, Tonari was super fun to watch the first time (I rewatched it recently..) Sukitte's too cliched and "perfect". Like the MC conveniently gets a hot boyfriend and friends too. The MC is someone I'd find in an American YA (young adult) novel, the lonely "emo" girl who's so different from everyone else. But after a while, I started liking Sukitte more. The SOL feel is nice and I like that Yamato actually has urges. Sakurai Takahiro!!! Kamisama managed to impress me even if the story was incomplete because I felt like it accomplished a lot and was different from the others. |

It's one of the few romcoms where I enjoyed the secondary cast tho, like Natsume and Sasayan, although not much development on their side. Sukitte's too cliched and "perfect". Similar reason for coming to like the show as well, the atmosphere. I'm also a sucker for those types of settings. Man I'd love to live there ;_;. Kamisama managed to impress me even if the story was incomplete because I felt like it accomplished a lot and was different from the others. I sense a lot of foreshadowing from this one. |

I got the feeling it was different from other shoujo romcoms, but I could never understand the reasons by each the characters' actions (especially Shizuku and Haru). That being said, I should part start picking up on manga. Watching anime and then reading manga spoilers probably isn't going to cut it anymore. |

Hand_of_the_King said: Well for starters the story for UBW assumes that you've read the Fate route and it is important, it gives some framing to the whole series. But the real issue is a difference of expectations, F/SN is a completely different story from F/Z, its not about the Grail War itself, like F/Z, its about Shirou and his ideals. Each of the different routes explores Shirou from a different world view: Fate is Idealism, UBW is pragmatism, and HF is Cynicism.Feaor said: Now that I'm bothering keeping up with UBW, I realize that the fans and haters are more insufferable than I thought. The ending was lacking indeed, being based on the weakest possible scenario. In other words, it felt like they threw stuff just to finish the anime somehow. Imagine Shinsekai Yori potential wasted in the last 4 episodes. Edit: The Info dump was legit. |
