How the crap did they fit all of Unlimited Blade Works in a 1 hour 40 minute movie? I didn't watch the movie (And don't plan to since the series is out) but I personally spent countless hours on each route and I wasn't even reading that slowly.

To put it in perspective, this route is going to be over 20 episodes long with 20 minutes of content each (not even considering the prologue and 40 minute episodes). That means that there will be at least over 6 hours of content in the T.V series alone. Not to mention the T.V series is still cutting a lot of the monologues and scenes.

How is it even possible to fit all this content in a 1 hour 40 minute movie without leaving out crucial scenes/plot points? I didn't watch the movie so I wouldn't know but I'm just curious.

I am aware the the VN is made longer because there are more paths on top of the fact that you have to read but that doesn't explain how they possibly fit it all in a 1 hour 40 minute movie successfully.

I think 5 minutes is giving it too much for what it was.

Try 2 minutes.

God was the ending butchered pretty damn badly (just like the rest of the whole route).
UBW is basically a route about three tsunderes constantly bashing their heads against one another.

Answer: It isn't. They put 1% of the actual content.

Here's the list of scenes in the first half with timestamps just to get the gist, I was skipping through in movie:

Well what would we expect? The first 2 episodes of this show are about as long as the entire film.

There was such little plot and character development in the VN, DEEN just skipped all the useless cooking and sex scenes and went straight to whatever little important stuff are left. They essentially condensed 15 hours of garbage into a 2 hour movie worth watching.

It's better than this garbage pandering show that drags out for 8 episode and still didn't show anything important.
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

Well, they basically combined certain days into one day and even changed the order of events to make it work. Which is also the reason why the movie makes no fucking sense.

A perfect example would be: Shirou vs. Rin > Shirou vs. Rider (which was episode 5) then Shinji shows himself and runs away when Rin comes, literally 2 secs after Blood Fort activates (episode 8) then at night the Temple stuff happens (episode 6+7).

??? I watched a review of the movie and the guy said he tallied up all of Saber's dialogue in the movie: it amounted to a little over 2 minutes. She was barely a part of that film - not to mention it had the true ending, not the good ending.

I have no idea what you're on about.

I was watching some scenes from it and yes Saber is given too much attention considering the events that took place.

Since Saber is present for most of the SoL scenes and they cut most of them out it wasn't that bad. If it was a series and not a movie, I am sure it would have ended up being Fate 2 but Shirou ends up with Rin for some reason.

No, in that case there is no MC.

First off, calculating screen time is a bad way to identify the main character. Secondly, even if you were to count up who gets the most screen time, it wouldn't be Saber.

So she doesn't have the most screen time, and she is not the center of the plot (I use the term 'plot' loosely); so in what way is she the MC?

On Saturdays I typically spend the day removing every speck of dust from my room in between filing complaints against dictionary companies for spelling errors.

Edit: I also noticed that you're implying I'm taking this argument any more seriously than Fai.

Just another reason to be grateful for not having seen that movie! The Deen Fate route was trainwreck enough even with 2 cours to cover all the events.

I really hope the Heaven's Feel route will be a movie series and not a single movie. I trust ufotable to do a much better job than Deen, but if you have to compress things too much, it won't come out right no matter who does it.

Mainly because DEEN removed the entire fight and replaced it with two idiots shouting at each other and bashing the same swords for three minutes.

Actually what's happening is that Lancer realizes he has no chance of winning and is seconds from death. In an act of quick thinking, he starts twirling his spear so fast that he becomes a human-helicopter and hauls ass before Archer can realize wtf

Time to use Unlimited Blade Works!

*Pulls out something that looks like excalibur and keeps swinging it at Gilgamesh*

*Gilgy loses*

Such great use of the reality marble against GoB!

Not that i'm supporting that creative decision, but it wasn't some random sword, it was Caliburn, I think.
