| Would angsty manga do? Lol. Not really sure exactly what you're looking for, but I cried in all of these manga due to either sad backstories or the complicated relationships, or both: Bokura ga Ita (manga, since I haven't finished watching the anime and anime doesn't adapt the whole manga) Hoshi wa Utau Immortal Rain Kimi ni shika Kikoenai Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan Hoshi no Koe (the manga and anime, though I think the manga is slightly better since the anime is so short) Pita Ten (manga, since I haven't watched the anime) Other possible ones that might fit what you want: Pink Lady (manhwa) Fruits Basket edit: I don't think any of the above I mentioned has destructive relationships though, except maybe Bokura ga Ita. |

You know, since you've read Pandora Hearts.. it's one of the series that fit my description here, sure the relationships aren't completely destructive but it's still painful in my book.. Elliot and Leo, Gil and Vincent, Oz and Gil, Jack and Lacie .. you may find it surprising, but it's just like i said in my post. it doesn't have to be a slice of life or romance. anyway, thanks for the recommendations, Hoshi no Koe looks interesting.. it's such a shame it's only 10 chapters :/ |

Such a painful series :( I think Immortal Rain would be the most similar, since there are several relationships that make your heartwrench. It's one of my all time favorites and I've read it I think 3 or 4 times, each time still able to make me cry buckets of tears and appreciate the themes and the relationships. I also find the mangaka to be really interesting because she seems like a dark person through some of her short commentaries throughout the series, as well as the collection of one-shots she wrote in her teenage years. |

| Kemonozume tells the story of a romance between a human and a monster that quickly becomes VERY destructive, both literally and figuratively. It's got plenty of really nicely done action scenes... and it's also got plenty of interesting, strange moments that leave you feeling not so much "wtf?", but more like "am I tripping on acid right now?"
