It takes 0 extra effort on the animators' part to just render it at full 24 FPS, yet they still choose to make it look like shit anyway. |

| Piracy will always find a way. But, for the sake of argument, if piracy in anime was 100% stopped, then I have a year's worth of anime I have saved up to watch before actually having to sign up for hulu or crunchyroll. |

| For gameplay reasons, particularly in shooter games, framerate is much more important in games than in anime. Although it obviously doesn't matter if the only games you play are 2048 and KanColle. It's also highly ironic to say framerate in games don't matter, and then show a comparison of 30 fps vs 60 fps that's from a video game. Even that aside, it's a bad way to illustrate your point. That's a rendering thing; the 60 fps example isn't made by frame interpolation. A framerate increase from frame interpolation looks different from a framerate increase by rendering 3D graphics at a higher rate, you can see this easily if you pause and examine the interpolated frames. | Nobody cares what fps you watch a video game at; you could watch a game at 24 fps just fine. Playing it at 24 fps vs playing at 60 fps is a very different matter. |

Unless you're watching an anime made in powerpoint, there will have movement present in the anime and the smoothness in which frames switch and the interpolation between positions is visible will be present. | The problem (as far as I'm concerned, anyway) is not that higher framerates isn't better, it's that it doesn't really look better when you get higher framerates by frame interpolation. That and your fallacious arguments about video game framerates and your poor examples. |

It obviously does, have you ever tried yourself? The gif I showed is frame interpolation if you don't know. Honestly, I just love to get my quaility little mkv from <pirate website>, plug my notebook on my television, enable 60fps frame interpolation, use a good video renderer, good video filters, lay on my bed and chill all day. I tried watching crunchyroll on my TV and it just feels horrible since I'm used to quality. The lack of decent codecs, video rendering, lack of options to apply your fragment shaders of preference in case you dislike the original video choice, lack of subtitles filtering customization and all the blablabla shit that adds to quality is just a cut-off. fst said: Point one.That and your fallacious arguments about video game framerates and your poor examples. | I have tried it. The algorithm works fine for pans and zooms. It does not work fine for anything more complicated than that, as shown in the example I posted earlier inside the spoiler tags. I found it to be disappointing overall, though it is necessary to make Sidonia watchable. |

| Streaming sites < couldnt care less because i do not stream ANY of the episodes i watch. Torrent trackers will never die out,never! i got all the sub and rip groups that matter on my RSS feed subscribed via Feedly which notifies me if of new releases the moment they are out. I dl every single episode from nyaa,tokyotosho,bakabt trackers since ages. For the ppl who want to continue watching anime daily/weekly nothing will change. |
