I used to be like that, for some reason in the last half year my feelings on it have kind of reversed though and for some reason now I just want to reach the damn end. Not because I dont like the shows but because I just want to know wtf happens already.

Feel like that.. probably always, but won't shed tears just for it ending unless if it is a Drama-like Anime. Regardless, if it is good, i will feel that weird sadness...as you watch more Anime you get more used to it, but i remember that i felt kinda depressed when i couldn't watch more of Darker Than Black or Steins;gate.

I don't shed tears just because it ends but I know what you mean. It has a lot to do with getting attached to the characters that makes you want an anime to keep going.

No. Definitely not.

Why? Because when a good series ends, it's still a good series. However let's say it did in fact have 10 episodes more, would it really be as good of a series in that case? If the story is finished, those extra episodes would either have been fillers or at least something that wasn't really necessary for the story itself.

In other words, you should be glad it was a good series all the way to the end once you get to the final episodes; dragging it out longer would most likely only have given you a worse impression on average.

Only exception to this is of course when someone tries to squeeze in too much content into too few episodes, like Angel Beats, Chaos;Head etc, but in that case it has nothing to do with the feels, it's just bad production in the first place.

edit: I think a good way to think of it is to ask yourself: do you want an anime to be good or do you want it to be long? If you compare it like that it's not really that strange to realize which will bring the more memorable impression in the long run.

honestly i get nervous. lets face it, a lot of shows don't pull it off at the end, and I want a satisfying conclusion.

i hate to leave something i've really enjoyed on a bad note

That what happens to me to. I've seen way too many anime ruined at the last episode when it pulls out some lame ending.

And I don't really even get sad when a show ends. The only show I got a little sad on was Fate Zero, and even then there's still a whole lot of stuff to the Fate franchise that hasn't come out yet.

What typically happens to me after I finish a good anime is that it takes a while for me to get into another good one and I end up messing around on my computer for a few nights until I head to the next one.

I feel like that for 20% of the anime I watch. The other 80% is basically me just saying that I want to get over with it so I can watch something new.

A satisfying conclusion can sometimes be the best thing from a good show, so no, I don't feel sad if I'm approaching the climax of an anime I'm enjoying.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

I tend to stop marathons when I come close to finishing an anime or TV series because I just wanna enjoy it for a little longer.

The negative version is when an anime had an enjoyable 'travel' so to say, but nearing the 'goal' events become more predictable and I just stop caring because suddenly the 'travel' feels less relevant and good because that mediocre ending is all it built up to. During the show it lives from the potential it has, but then ends before ever fulfilling it.
I probably regret this post by now.

I get this quite often as well, especially with a really good drama. At the same time, however, I look forward to the end because I want to find out what happens and gain closure.

Crying because an anime ended? come-on buddy...its not that sad. I would be sad if the show didn't have a concluding ending but other than that its out with the old and in with the new.

Yeah I get those same feelings for certain Anime that I truly enjoyed.

Still saddens me that some of them have ended, but I still love them and will re-watch in the future. =^-^=

No stories are better when they end and I usually want them to unless the show has all kinds of loose ends and unanswered questions. Instead I usually get excited to be nearing the conclusion of something and am hoping it doesn't decide to trainwreck.

It's the opposite for me. I can't wait for really good anime to end.

Why? Because really good anime that go on longer than they should end up becoming stale and unsatisfying. For example, I thought the first three seasons of Bleach were really, really good. I can't say that for the rest of the series because it seems like everything after that was complete garbage. Then again, I can't put that all on "well, it ran longer than it should." It was just really poorly written after the Soul Society arc anyway...even in the manga.

If it's a good anime then I might not want it to end, but if the ending is really satisfying then I'm ok. I would just rewatch it if it was that good.

It is even worst when you know that the season is ending but there is no plans for a next season. The season just ends but the story not.

The end of Chihayafuru's second season make me so sad that I did not even want to watch its last episode.

Claymore and Pandora Hearts are other samples of this.

If my favorite anime ends, I'm fine with that.

but with so many loose ends to tie, It really pisses me off so much till I couldn't get out of my head sometimes.

Don't ask me what anime is besides CODE BREAKER, Noragami, Hakkenden Touhou Hakken Ibun & Black Bullet.

Never. If a good series ends, it brings closure, and if a bad series ends, it's finally over with.
