I have 2 sisters and 5 brothers. One of them is my twin.

Is your family catholic?

Every sperm is sacred.

Nope. I was raised Christian.
And I only have that many cause my parents are divorced. Then both remarried.
2 Full blood brothers. 2 Step brothers. And 3 Half bloods.
Im the oldest child in my family other than my twin.

Im a Devil's advocate. Its just too fun.

If I had a brother, I'd have to say no. I get what people are saying that it shouldn't matter...but it probably would.

I would but i'll have to call the girl i'd date a nickname so won't get mixed with my sisters but other than that i don't see the problem.

I wouldn't mind.

Ugh. No. Probably because I don't have a good relationship with my brother.

If I did. No, it'd be pretty awkward.

Moaning their name or whatever and all you imagine is your sibling.

These are the most ignorant posts I could find here.

Seriously.

If this is how far your attraction goes, it's so shallow that it's not even actual attraction, so in the end it doesn't matter if their name is the same as your brother/sister, the problem is that you couldn't care less of the person in question anyway.

Even more on-topic: No, I wouldn't mind, who with enough logic would mind such a thing?

My brothers names i'm pretty sure it would be hard to find someone with the same name as them, but if that happened well I really wouldn't care it's just a name.

A better question is "Would you date/marry a woman/man who has the same name as your last name?"

What happens if you secretly want to bone your siblings but keep in the closet about it, so you are incredibly uncomfortable about saying their name in bed. If you actually didn't you wouldn't mind.

I don't see how you can spit that out and make it sound like it was a moan for your sibling rather than the person in bed, so you're still keeping it in the closet.

Not only that, if you're embarrassed about that, well there you go, you're still the one with problems here, I understand that in society you can't be true to your feelings, but then again, you're still misinterpreting reality to me.

And this is also a highly unlikely case.

Forgive me for being ignorant then. I'm just being honest, so sue me. I'd keep the assumptions to a minimum if you do not know the whole story.

A single ignorant post or view doesn't make a man ignorant, you're probably taking it too far and believing that you are indeed an ignorant.

Such insecurity...

And also, there aren't any assumptions that I should keep at a minimum.

I don't care.

My sister's name is Alice (she's 16)

We get along pretty well so it's alright.

Heck, I don't even care about names.

Yeah. My brothers name is Jamie, and there was a really cute girl I met once with that name.

Dunno if it was spelled differently or what, but I'm going to assume that you just care about the phonetics of the name.

I don't see why not. It's just a name. I wouldn't date the guy if he has the personality with my brother though.

It would be very weird to date someone with the same name as my older brother, but then again, it wouldn't be the same person.

If he had the same name and personality as my brother, then it would be worse.
