Whoever killed her did NOT know how to get in that bathroom. Since it's his room, he would have just jimmied the handle and walked in. Yes, I know that IF he were the killer and was REALLY smart, he would have broke the doorknob anyway and used it for a defense but these are teenagers we are talking about here... No offense to smart teens... And also i highly doubt naegi holds the strenght necessary to break the door, i also believe this was the case of she pissing someone off and this someone going after her, the fact that the room is all messed up suggests a struggle which suggests that killer was emotional driven, also the fact that naegi rooms had maizono image on the door suggest the killer was looking for her and her only, which again suggest some kind of emotional involvement |

| This got pretty epic quick. Didn't expect a death this early. The clues were a bit rushed so I'm having a bit of trouble guessing who the murderer could have possibly been, but I think that's done on purpose so that things come more as a surprise to the viewers. Disappointed that the fashion girl died the way she did; I kinda liked her haha. At first I thought that the idol may have committed suicide, but with a fractured hand and the door as messed up as it was, I don't think that's the case anymore. |

| Jesus fudge why the hell are these main characters always so god awful at explaining? "We attended the same junior school together called _________. She came to me because she said she heard the doorknob clatter in her room. I told her it would be alright, since no one is allowed to break curfew, but she was still concerned as she thought it was only a verbal agreement. I told her she should stay in my room for the night, but it got a little awkward, so we instead decided to switch rooms. After staying in her room for the night, I headed straight to the planned meeting location." I could say all that in 20 seconds flat. It might not entirely help the situation, but its better than standing there being a dumbass. |

| I must say, i did not expect that, good plot twist, i thought the fortune teller or the model(who still died) would have died first. My guess for the student who killed her is the prefect, dont correct me if i'm wrong, i dont want spoilers. EDIT: Actually... i think it's the fortune teller, that is my final answer. And a question for those who have played the game, has it diverged from the game?(if so, PM me or something) |

People who don't only look at the obvious parts, but also at the details (as the toolbox). Don't forget the who/why/how (particularly the why) and the Crime reconstruction afterward. Also, don't forget to try to explain everything. Including the room swap, etc. |

| Maizono died. OMG, I thought she was gonna kill someone but she got killed instead... I hope the main character gets killed instead. Who killed her now... I thought, she would turn into a pyscho and kill someone/attempt to kill... I am missing her already. My favorite character died as well!!!!!!!! What the hell is this... They could kill a guy instead. Killing two girls (and my favorites ones) right off is so sickening... |

But they could be switched by monobear to facilitate any killing intent |

| OK so if it was not monobear who changed the plates i can only see one possible explanation for it. Maizono killed herself, but she didnt want to anynoe to suspect on naegi, therefore she simulated a struggle in the room, broke the handle herself and switched the plates so everyone would thouhgt she died in her room and not on naegi's. But to be honest, i am not very sure about this theory, the broken hand is something that throws me off for instance, i have a feeling I'm missing something, but i could be wrong |

willardhwright said: Also, don't forget to try to explain everything. Including the room swap, etc. The room swap...ah yes. And how the signs on the door to the rooms were also switched. That confuses me. I'm under the assumption that Sayaka was killed in the process of trying to kill someone, so my guess is that Sayaka probably tried to lure someone into Naegi's room to kill. This person is the culprit, who kills her in an act of perhaps self-defense, but the intent to kill is probably there after all they are playing Monobear's "game". Why else would she open the door when she "knows that someone is after her?" Obviously she purposely opened the door knowing what she is getting herself into. I'm pretty sure that the reason for the room-swaping would be none other than for framing purposes. Killing someone in another person's room, and once ppl question her about "swapping rooms" she could just act all innocent and of course there'll be people who suspect her, but she does put on a pretty innocent facade so it'll probably convince the majority. The explanation for the door knob provides evidence that she did NOT kill herself because she knew how to open the door. Naegi taught her the procedures of how to open it, so that means that she probably ran into the bathroom to try and hide, but this person was strong enough to break the knob, go inside, and kill her. I don't really understand the switching of the pictures that idicated Naegi's room and Sayaka's room either...there could be two possibilities, three actually but the third option is highly unlikely, but possible? 1) Sayaka switched the signs herself in order to lure her victim in her room. She didn't actually lie about the door rattling and someone actually was trying to kill her...or maybe someone was rattling her door in the middle of the night for an important reason (possibly to inform her something?) and she ignores it. It would be obscure to think that someone could be stupid enough to go to a door, and go to another one just because the picture seems different, but that person could've been easily misled if they aren't exactly that smart. If he/she really did want to kill her, that person would probably hide in the shadows knowing that she's a very paranoid girl who'll probably run to Naegi for help, but he/she didn't so I think that the person who rattled her door came there without the intent to kill. My guess is that the crystal ball has something to do with it...and the ripped piece of her sleeve. She then goes over to Naegi's room, notices his weapon and feels that she'll have a better chance of killing something with his weapon, and she could probably frame Naegi so she could escape. Sayako could have possibly switched the room plates to confuse the "culprit", or lure him into another room. 2) Monobear won't act and kill someone, but maybe to speed things up he'll do little tricks like these. It's possible that he switched the signs to lure a person to Sayaka. 3) The culprit (person who killed Sayaka) wanted to make it look as if she killed herself in her own room. Maybe it was a desperate attempt at trying to hide the evidence, but I highly doubt this one because why would he do that when he could obviously frame Naegi...seems pretty pointless to me. (at this point I'm using "he" because it's getting tiring using "he/she" and I'm pretty sure the culprit is a guy, because they have to be pretty strong to knock that door handle. Unless...the total exception would be miss Sakura but I highly doubt it's her because as intimidating as she looks, I'm pretty sure it isn't her. Just a guy feeling. The piece of her sleeve and the crystal ball really confuses me though... this is all happening at night so it's quite possible that Sayaka went outside of the room and maybe left a piece of her sleeve that maybe got caught some where? ...someone found it along suspecting some strange behavior and went to her room to confront her? I'm not very sure. I really am super confused but the crystal ball leads me to believe that fortune teller is definitely involved in some way. Maybe Hagakure predicted Sayaka's actions and her odd behavior, warned her so she ran...and destroyed the crystal ball? I mean I can't really think of any other reason for there to be a broken crystal ball there. I really can't. |

Keetriver said: Jesus fudge why the hell are these main characters always so god awful at explaining? "We attended the same junior school together called _________. She came to me because she said she heard the doorknob clatter in her room. I told her it would be alright, since no one is allowed to break curfew, but she was still concerned as she thought it was only a verbal agreement. I told her she should stay in my room for the night, but it got a little awkward, so we instead decided to switch rooms. After staying in her room for the night, I headed straight to the planned meeting location." I could say all that in 20 seconds flat. It might not entirely help the situation, but its better than standing there being a dumbass. You also have to keep in mind that they may have not even listened to him, considering they were all panicking over the whole "execution" business. Even if he tried to explain better, they could've dismissed it all, or even interrupted him because they thought he was lying. |

Maizono killed herself, but she didnt want to anynoe to suspect on naegi, therefore she simulated a struggle in the room, broke the handle herself and switched the plates so everyone would thouhgt she died in her room and not on naegi's. But to be honest, i am not very sure about this theory, the broken hand is something that throws me off for instance, i have a feeling I'm missing something, but i could be wrong Remember what Maizono told Naegi? Her doorknob was being shook while she was inside her room. true, but maybe was just her imagination, judging by her mental state is possible, but again i dont have much faith in the suicide theory to be honest, i just cant see why would someone change the plates, thats what bugging me |

| Quick explanation on the glass ball thing. I'll put it on spoilers. Glass ball thing was found in the garbage disposal room. Inside, there's an incinerator. The incinerator area is locked by fences, and you can only open or disable the fences with a key. The group decided that the first one to hold it was Yamada(otaku guy) The glass ball was found broken below the open/close switch of the incinerator. Belongs to...afro dude. I honestly can't remember this guy's name. Also, the piece of cloth has blood in it, and is near the incinerator. The distance between fence to incinerator is also quite far. He told Naegi in the game that he accidentally left it inside the laundry room. I hope this could add some more to your theories. :) Again, if you don't want to look at it, just don't click the spoiler. I only elaborated the evidence inside, don't worry. |

| From my reddit post: I thought Maizono would die first anyways. The friendship between Naegi and Maizono, I thought was one-sided at first, with Maizono just using him. But now after this episode, I believe that Maizono actually cared for and liked Naegi. After all, she remembered his name. She switched her room sign thing with Naegi's with the tools in her room. Then she made Naegi stay in her room. She did this because she realized that someone would target Naegi. I mean, if I was in this game, I would target Naegi myself because he is a weakass shit. SHE DID IT FOR HIM. She probably had feelings for him back when they were in junior high. I think the person who killed Maizono was Leon, the Allstar. Leon fits everything. He wears a long sleeve white shirt. At the incinerator place, a piece of white shirt was found. The long sleeves can also be used to conceal a knife. The glass sphere was probably used to break into the room. This broken glass sphere was thrown away along with the shirt cuff at the incinerator. The number 11037, if you flip it upside down, it spells Leon (kinda.) The 11 was the number that looks the most like the letter N upside down. Leon fractured Maizono's wrist with his game winning home run swing using the katana. There are golden speckles from the katana on her wrist. Leon also tried to divert suspicion away from himself by accusing Naegi. He was also a little bit late to breakfast, but not sure if that meant anything. So yeah, I think Leon killed Maizono. He didn't intend to kill her as he was going for Naegi but good girl Naegi swapped rooms to save his life. Leon ended up having to kill Maizono because he didn't want to be found breaking the Night Time rule that everyone agreed too. Sorry for this mess of writing. |

EarlCiel said: willardhwright said: Also, don't forget to try to explain everything. It's possible that he switched the signs to lure a person to Sayako. The piece of her sleeve and the crystal ball really confuses me though... this is all happening at night so it's quite possible that Sayako went outside of the room and maybe left a piece of her sleeve that maybe got caught some where? ...someone found it along suspecting some strange behavior and went to her room to confront her? Haha, I already like you, some points are quite "on the spot" and I had the same theory on some points a while ago. I will not say which ones though. To be fair, the part with the glass ball is REALLY, REALLY hard to figure in the anime. They don't even say that it was found in the incinerator room, IIRC. Which is the least they should have done. For the nameplates... the who/why is really obvious when you think about it. You don't even have to seach too far. In fact, searching too far is counter-productive. I'll also quote Kirigiri on one point; remember that people can lie. |
