Probably one of the worst shows i have watched in recent memory an absolute trainwreck of characters who get barely any screen time and couldnt care less about and an endless amount of devil's people just pull out of there asses. Yamato who teases to be the villian about 5 times although i can never actually figure out if he is untill the last two episodes

horrendous anime 3/10

Demonic Fusion? Satan vs Lucifer? Ends with a hug?
Hibiki X Yamato!!

A reset end?
Sort of obvious.

Hibiki cries for Yamato?
Hibiki X Yamato!!

Alcor in the end?
Hibiki X Yamato!! Poor Alcor though; he just disappears.

Everyone's back in the ED! I am so happy!
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

I am pleased with this anime; both Hibiki and Yamato are the only ones who remember the last 7 days though, even though it looked like Yamato died, in the reset, he must now have memories of all he has done in the past before the reset and now in the new present/past so that's why none of the others have been recruited to his side in this reset, it must be very strange for him!! How confusing to have two sets of memories for Yamato!!

I thought it would be obvious that Hibiki tried to stop him because he was an evil person with good qualities so perhaps Yamato will change his view on life from now on!! Maybe they will even be friends some day!!

Glad everyone went on about their daily lives, it was a very deep thinking anime, that God would give us a trail to confirm whether we ought out to exist or not by brutally destroying us and I would like to think that there is a Hibiki character in real life who would be the voice of hope for us all if something like it were to happen :)

Good ending and I loved the fights!! XD

An expected ending.
So this little traiwreck is over. The idea had some promise but the presentation really sucked balls. It is my belief that making games into anime hardly works.

Shame everybody lost their memories apart from Hibiki, but it was to be expected. All the demon fusing was pretty cool, but the ending seemed pretty rushed. Overall pretty good. 7/10.

I like the fusion scene. We get the Bishie Lucifer instead of the bamf Fallen Angel one, oh well, it will look strange if the good guy have an evil looking demon on their side.

Its the reset ending, its pretty lame.I rather have the Kingmaker ending.

The adaption isn't up to my expectation. Its too short, if it has 20+ episodes then it might've been better.

End was satisfactory. There's not much surviving, more of nice bromance and bro hugging. Daichi's friendship is power.

I haven't seen many game adapted anime, so I can only say it's slightly more enjoyable than R;B. Great character designs and well animated effects/CG and scenery helped. Generic but at least straight forward plot is ok. Lack of char/demon animation, terrible dialogue/lines make characters forgettable.

It seems common knowledge game adapted movies are either aweful B movies or direct to dvd. Now I know it applies to anime too. So after LB, R;B, and this, I should probably wait till a game-based series finishes with good reviews before watching.

God damn that was some bullshit way for Hibiki to just summon all of his friends demons like that. Oh well it was expected that he would defeat Yamato some way or another at the end anyway. Its just too bad Yamato doesn't get his way though =/.

Loved watching what everyone was up to at the end, now that was really nice to see. And the ED song went well with those scenes, god I just love this song. Overall it was a pretty enjoyable anime with some nice characters that I really liked. Fumi and Airi <3.

dont take this personal:

u gave that plot blackhole called SAO 10/10. ur opinion is moot.

SAO. A web novel that was so good to people, that got to be official light novels, then an anime, which also appealed a whole lot of people.

Why the so called "blackholed" plot? I didn't anything ilogical or contradictory.
And if anything, the adaptation wasn't as good as to other light novels, on the light novels itself they have a reason for anything, Yeah, ANYTHING.
Remember 16.5? They explain also the reason of that.

An the fact that some people liked animes which aren't good, doesn't mean that they dont know how to choose good animes. A think it means they did see something other didn't.

Sigh, you seem to believe that because it's popular it's automatically good.

I won't get into an SAO discussion here, but the one thing off the top of my head that was illogical and idiotic in the show as that asspull in episode 24 where Kirito randomly was able to hack into the system get a bunch of powers and defeat.. whatever that second villain's name is..

The reason for 16.5 was to give people a better reason to fap.

As someone who gave this show a very negative review, I resent that. I've never actually played the game this is based on, but I could tell that they completely screwed it up. Character development? A compelling plot? No, let's toss all that shit out the window in favour of cheap melodrama and incredibly unexciting fight scenes.

Oh, and it's kind of hilarious that every single named character, barring the boring invincible protagonist, dies in a show called "Devil Survivor 2". The ludicrously undeveloped characters survive jack shit and change nothing, which I've heard goes directly against what you do in the game.

A proper ending for this series which wasn't all too good because the lack of a proper pace but still was interesting because the action filled scenes and decent development! Either way a pretty decent anime in general!

Completely in sync with you. I've watched only 2 episodes, but came to the last episode discussion thread anyway. It was so bad, episode 1 was fine, but I couldn't feel the emotion and the tension. Episode 2 had lots of faults, minor ones and major ones. I think I'll drop this anime. Byakko was cool though

Comparing by the game itself and the anime, it was done pretty horrid. In the game, you don't exactly get to kill off every single character because there will be at least 5 surviving characters but in the anime, they just freaking lay off 12 important characters and opt for Daichi's ending which is to revert back to the starting point.

The pacing is also rushed, missing out several important character development and interaction scene which are included in the game.

Conclusion, eff-ed up ending with underdeveloped characters and unexplained plot holes. Not that it's that bad for an anime adaption, but they could really do better than letting Hibiki being excessively OP for the first half of the season. Only redeeming quality is the high quality visual and OP/ED plus they did really follow the storyline closely, albeit they chose the wrong approach to do so. 6/10

Nice final "hug" with Lucifer and Satan. In the game unlocking Lucifer requires Fate Stage 5 with Alcor so there is something from his route here too ^_^

It was a decent finish, and Hibiki chose a hard future for himself. Stinks Hibiki is the only one who remembers (besides Yamato and Alcor), however it's for the best... the PTSD those guys would face...

I really got vibes like Alcor was Polaris, but it never developed as that. However it is interesting that Polaris would bring back Alcor (the broken cog) so it leaves me wondering.

Decent show, 7/10

5/5

The series taken from JRPG, often struggling to be a superior product, when they become anime.
Unfortunately, this also happens to DSA2, which does not escape this rule, too bad! D:
Perhaps you could give more.
What I like about these productions, are the beautiful character design, the OP and ED. While the story might go genius if well developed.
Let's see if the series spring 2014 of this kind will be able to improve.

I liked the final despite being granted because, try to think of one that has had a week like Hibiki, what would you like better?
Final rating remains unchanged, 6/10!

Man, you're full of stereotypes.
So, people who like something popular which you don't, and you already tag them?
I could also say that you are of those who love ti ti critizice what most people critizice.

Man, I did read SAO before the anime.
Trust me, Light Novels aren't as popular as anime.

My opinion comes from ME. When people gives some reasoning to why the didn't like something i.e SAO's second arc wasn't too well developed, I actually agree with them.
BUT when you call 'blackhole' to some plot which you don't get or simply don't like, I can't really get you seriously.

BTW, yeah, I'm responding just now... hueheu.

am i the only one who enjoyed the ending song... more than i did the series.(Trauma/Be by Song Riders)

just awesome, if properly translated works well in english (although even the english series fails at the end.)

"I need to know more" suddenly becomes "i need lore!" We all need lore; gandalf.. and the elves... they love that lore.

obvious ending was obvious though. I mean we are, who we are by the world and people around us. Even though we have regrets... if we got to choose again, we'd have to choose the same choice. Otherwise we wouldn't be who we are.

so what would you do if you had the choice of remaking the world after its destruction and all the people dying. Simple choice. Keep the status quo - return it exactly as was, before it all started. (dragon ball style)

it's the only way to maintain balance.and give humanity a fighting chance to change... which they won't because... they're human. our frailty (the human condition) is our strength. (just hope all the characters meet, in the continuing world.. they were a good bunch of weird personalities)

As expected a stupid ending to a stupid series. I can't believe this is an adaption of a Shin Megami game, Persona 4 the Animation was SO well done and the game is one of my favorites, whereas this garbage is one of the very few series that I ended up skipping through the last two or three episodes because I just wanted it over and done.

I did watch the last episode completely though, because I was foolishly hoping for a decent boss battle before a good ending, and I have to say the battle itself was alright (at best) but the ending one the other hand was so predictable and utterly moronic.

Of course he was gonna turn back time and resurrect everyone, it's exactly what I had feared from the moment characters started dying left and right.

Overall I give this series a 4/10 > and that's me being generous! I'm going to go re-watch Persona now, hopefully I can one day forget this series is actually related to it.

This anime is a terrible insult to Yamato as a character. And to Hibiki somehow. "Yeah I know that you are right but I cannot let you do this because reasons!"
Basically, it's "I don't like what you are doing but I don't offer any alternative, and you are wrong because I am the MC - the anime. "
The game was quite interesting in how it was all abut politics and this kind of things, and now in the anime we have......this. Okay.
Let alone Yamato who was just flanderized beyond recognition. He went from being a really interesting character to something that look like a caricature, sometimes without ANY reason. The fact that everybody was already dead where Alioth landed? Who cares, he'll look more like a villain if he doesn't care about killing them!
And that's not a matter of "not enough episodes"; saying this would have taken something like 10 seconds. It's just that apparently Yamato being more "evil" is cooler, even when it doesn't fit with him as a character (in the games he is NOT idiot and although he tends to go too far and is still all "trash.", he knows that there are some things that he just cannot do if he wants people to listen, and that's why he's such a good leader).
Way to completely change the character's personality.

Even without taking into account the fact that they skipped most of the background, the ending they tried to do with Yamato is terrible.

Also, lol@Hibiki able to use the dragon stream despite it being something only usable in the Hotsuin family. Sure, make sense. Well, once again the main reason seems to be "I'm the MC and not you". Maybe Hibiki is a hidden Hotsuin? Well, the whole episode with Lugh was terrible though.

Also, trying to fill a SMT game with stupid cliches is the most stupid thing they might ever do. We are talking about one of the game series that tend to try to kick cliches in the balls the most; God (yeah, THIS God, not a fictional one) in SMT 1 and 2 is a pretty good example of how it works. They probably couldn't have done something less like the original even if they tried. And no, the fact that it is an adaptation isn't an excuse. This is pretty much SMT in name only; it doesn't even have the same feel as the game, it doesn't even understand how the game work. The game tended to "parody itself" quite often and played with the humor into it, making fun of himself and of cliches (some dialog choices are.....quite omething). The anime tried to be dead serious all along, which definitely doesn't work. This + the cliche overload which is as far from SMT as you can go = "...what the heck am I watching". If you changed the character models, it'd be quite easy for someone to miss the fact that it is DS2 completely. If they want to change so many things, then just do it as an original production, period.

it is extremely predictable, I presume you guessed every single death in each episode correctly then??

Actually, yes. And even the ones that had nothing to do with the game and were not present in it.

Quite a generic ending like those other video game adaptations. Not that I should complain though. Mediocre series. Enjoyed it at the least way possible. Not Memorable though 7.5/10 rounded off to an 8.

The main problem is that in most VG adaptations, the ending is generic because of the source material. Here it's just because they screwed with it as much as they could. Then again, the game does have multiple endings, but most of them are not as generic.

Well, at the end of it all, I can't say I didn't expect an asspull. NAKAMAS SAVE THE WORLD.

Overall, a terrible adaptation of the source material. On it's own it barely manages a 5/10.

The animation and music are decent, but the characters are complete shit, and the story has no idea of what "pacing" is. Also Yaoi, lots and lost of unnecessary Yaoi. I mean, Yamato and Alcor are two of my favorite characters in the game, but that doesn't mean I want a fan-fic written based around them. In fact, that sums up this entire thing, a fan-fic in the setting of DS2 and it's characters.

Oh well, at least the game is FUCKING AMAZING. I can get over this massive disappointment.
