Voice actor Nobuyuki Kobushi posted on his Twitter on June 8th that fellow voice actor Takkou Ishimori (One Piece's Sengoku, Ga-Rei: Zero's Yuu Isayama) passed away on the morning of June 5th. He debuted in 1956 as an actor and started doing voice acting work in 1965. He was 81 years old.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I'm surprised that this hasn't been posted earlier since it's been known for roughly three days now.

I only knew that man as Sengoku's voice and he did the character justice. May he rest in peace.

I guess you can call me lazy lol But if you know some news that you reckon I might not know, you are always welcome to submit a news story.

The one thing that is impressive is his long career. We are talking about a man who devoted all his life in voice acting (and some acting). A true veteran.

When i first read "One Piece voice actor" i was so afraid that it would be one from the main cast T w T
I feel bad for being relieved.

BUT! He did a good job as Sengoku.
Rest in peace.

He doesn't have much roles on here though. I wondered since he looked pretty old.

Me too.

Sengoku is a good character, and he did a great job as him. I don't know who can replace him.

Probably because it was just a sad face. It's in the rules that you can't make posts like "yeah" or "will watch" on the news threads.

But I was talking about his long career in seiyuu field, not how much roles he had in One Piece or how many roles he played in his life. Also remember voice acting work includes dubbing for any foreign film, TV, commercial material too.

Yeah I know, I figured that out after seeing how many roles he has on here.

They'd just get a new VA for him. Smoker's VA died, Nami, Robin, and Chopper had to be replaced for like 10 episodes each during the anime.
