If I may, Idk if I'm bumping this old thread but people have commented on it from time to time(2010 when it first came out then a bit in 2011, 2012,2013, and the last one in the start of 2014) and also I finished this anime yesterday, and did cry a lot lmao im such a pussy, which leads me to lreply on this thread because the dead theories are good but they are just not true
Also I have some typos in this so sorry*
So this is my opinion: They are not dead and I do find that the dead theories are plausible and do provide good points but they are just theories and not real
1. Sora's bunny
Obviously it's a cherished momento from her mom and how she always carries it with her etc... and then it shows up destroyed when nao and the rest of the group searches Haru's and Sora's home after they leave, but it is obvious that Haru could bought her a new one, which symbolizes his love for her and how they are going to start a new life together... and Sora's internet addiction(just like mines and mostly the rest of us lol) could have easily replaced it, and they could have customized it as well.
2. Haru asking Sora if they're alive(after he wakes up to Sora crying over him)
Even though she does not respond, it is not true that they are dead because it is quite obvious they are alive and are able to still communicate and touch each other. When Haru wakes up you can see a water trail to the spot where Haru is lying, with Sora ontop of him waiting for him to wake up, strongly indicating the fact that Sora swam both of them to safety. Subsequently, it shows Haru and Sora half naked, Haru without his shirt and Sora without her shirt also, and how they say it is warm.. they made love as a way to warm up because Haru tells Sora she's wet(which made them cold) and they both kiss, also you have to take to the fact that it was at night time they both almost drowned if you look at the sky and sun rise when they both start to come to their senses and confess their feelings and love for each other. Even though a lot of people supporting the dead theory say that Sora is not a good swimmer, it is not true because no where in the anime does it say Sora is a bad swimmer. However you also have to consider the fact Sora is weak, but Haru appears light due to his slim profile given as a characterisic, and that goddess or w/e her name is, i forgot it c.__.c, most likely gave her the strength to pull her and Haru out of harms way. The whole Nao coming back and then saving them and then leaving them alone does not strongly side with me because it just sounds really unlikely for that to happen, even after the fact she parts with Haru after a failed search to find Sora together. However it could be possible that she did but we may never know that, since the creators did a great job with living the suspense of who really saved them, which is kind of obvious it was Sora who did it.
3. To The Distant Sky meaning/The Train Ride To Heaven
This is one of the main supporting facts of the death theory of both Haru and Sora. It is strongly indicated that they are both alive and well, and just because they are alone does not mean that they are only passengers to go to "heaven", and in the beginning of the anime it shows them alone of the train as well. The bunny and I guess the change of clothes, which I wasnt too keen h something I forgot) The whole title of "To The Distant Sky" is just a meaning that they are starting a new life for themselves just like Haru says in the anime and in the manga, for those who didnt read the manga but im not too sure of the anime i do think he does though, and not that they are dead.
4. The Whole Money Scenario
A Yosuga No Sora lover my self, I was also puzzled at how they managed to afford those train rides to the city where that artisian lives. But it is also possible he/she sent them money for the two so they afford the trip. Again the creators did a really excellent job with the suspense and whole dead vs alive debate by providing with hints and clues to both of their fates. At first, when they arrived to the house, they have money but at the end Haru says that their parents left them with no money, which is really a confusing fact because in the beginning of the show they buy groceries immediately after they move in, but perhaps they had some money from the train ride(because once again they have relatives that could have supported them financially after their parents death) This shows that their relatives could have helped them in episode 12 when Sora and Haru almost have sex but Haru starts crying over the fact that they are sibilings and how it is pretty unethical of them doing this, even though he loves her, and he says that they are going to have to be separated to go live with a relative, i forgot which either an uncle or something.
5. The Whole Swimming Situation
I have provided some facts in my 2nd topic but yeah... in the anime it does not say that Sora could not swim, so it's not possible that she couldn't have brought her and Haru back to the top of the stairs, and if look at the scene where the camera zooms in out of their position, you can see the water and the stairs leading up to them.
Anyways I can't believe that I just did this but I'm bored and there's nothing else to do for me atm lol and probs one of my friends my see this or something xD
The whole incest thing is also a weird part of the story but it is basically the plot and the other episodes are what lead up to it, even though when I first heard of this show through a YT video and stuff and learned it contains incest o.0
So basically, they're not dead and I'm glad that Haru and Sora found happiness with one another and are starting a new life together and this is probably one of the most saddest anime's i've ever seen, fuck clannad lel, and i really did love it but there were some plotholes in it :P Anyways gl to Sora and Haru and I'm sad there's not season 2 :/
Cya! (ps I hope that O dont get trouble for this lol :/) |
