| Have you ever been in the IMDb forums? 90% of the threads there are troll threads. I got used to it and post from time to time, but the moderating activity is almost non-existent. MAL is not the best community I have ever found, but considering its problems, among them the lack of discussion at the anime part of the board and the repetition of the same threads over and over, I have to say it is a pretty nice place, and much better than some of the forums I've been into. It takes something to make me stay for two years and write more than 1,000 posts in one place. I think I can only say the same about three or four more sites on the Internet. |

| I think it's probably more likely that she isn't used to the internet. Because this community is generally nicer than most others, especially as she is a girl. You still get assholes, but they are everywhere. |

| I'm not on many other forums than manga/anime so I wouldn't know... But in the last 1-2 years, the most of the ones who are posting frequently on MAL are annoying with their oh so funny jokes, retarded videos and pointless posts compared to the ones before. |
