Now my question is, do you think that these will be English dubs? I know the market is going for Japanese dialog with English subs right now but, I would really like to see these get good English dubs. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Hope Coo is soon, I had to stop watching it because of the license. And yeah for Spice and Wolf...I like Harems and even I think Ninomiya is kind of stupid(Media Blasters sub only is my guess)

Likely they will get dubs at some point, as to how good they are... well, it's more of a wait and see thing. Good to see spice and wolf get picked up though.

Harem/fanservice always gets the dub.

I always knew H20 would get the licence before ef and Clannad for the fanservice, though.
I wonder how R1 will react to Junjou Romantica, though. If I'm correct, Gravitation was the only other yaoi/shounen-ai series to be licenced state-side.

Wow, I'd never expected H20 to get licensed. It's really not that great, there are so many good series out there. -.-

Gakuen Heaven was released as well but sub only.

Anyway I only need Rental Magica.

I'm waiting for seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5! Spice and Wolf was so fun to watch that I want them to continue it until they finish the whole travel saga. I'm glad I'll be able to buy DVDs for it soon.

I hope dubs are things of the past...North American releases should only focus on the subtitles first and release them faster, then do voice overs later for TV....

I've given up on understanding licensing. Ninomuya-kun and H2O are two titles I just don't see why they're being brought over when so many other great shows aren't. And I say this as someone who watched both of them.

Maybe there's just a big disconnect between people who only watch R1 DVDs and people who watch fansubs.

Looking forward to Rental Magica and Spice and Wolf, though.

I wanted to finish Wolf and Spice, but Kadokawa sent out that cease and desist order so I never got the chance. Now, I should be able to get that chance! And as for Ninomiya-kun....the idea that something like that gets licensed before (for example) Hell Teacher Nube disgusts me.

Off topic: Hayate no Gotoku was easily the best license of the weekend.

You guys do realize that Kadokawa USA is a license holder and not a publisher. Kadokawa JP is part of a publisher. Any licenses held by kadokawa USA still have to be picked up by a US Publisher like Bandai, RightStuf, ADV, whatever. So don't expect Spice and Wolf or whatever on the shelf next month. This is a small part of a long licensing process.

HAHAH h20 ... and they (funimation, bandai, etc) wonder why their sales are down 20% in the US, is because they license crap like that >_<

Definitely going to get Spice and Wolf ^_^

And ppl complaining about dubs ...just stop. you're a small percent of the buying force since you all download it off the internet (as do I). Localization is required to make money for the japanese and the localizers. so quit bitching about it and just buy the DVD. Your "love" for an anime isn't going to keep their animation studios running. Don't worry im no better than most of you with my 1.6TB of anime :) but at least I end up buying the ones i like.

As long as theres money in dubbing there will always be dubs.

A Kadokawa representative, Chiyako Tasai, manager of marketing and advertising, presented the following anime soon to be licensed. At present, negotiations are currently occuring for each of these, waiting for a proper distributor to pick each of these titles up:

H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~
Good Luck! Ninomiya-kun
Rental Magica
Coo ~our guardian~
Romantica ~Pure Love~
Spice and Wolf

In addition, the following manga have been slated for anime adaptation release in Japan for this fall:

Garei - ZERO- ("Kagami reads this in one of the Lucky Star episodes! Try to find out which one!")
Makademi Washoi

During their pannel at otakon I asked if "Do you have any information on a possible second season of Spice and Wolf and Haruhi Suzumia?". The person replied that depending on how sales go in Japan and the US they might make a second season. She also didn't give any new information on S2 of Haruhi.
