I started a while back on... March 24, 2008. I'm only twelve episodes through... T-T I'm so horrible. I need to motivate myself more. But, there's just something about LoGH that seems daunting, where you can just watch and episode and leave it for a while... Or is it just me?

Anyway, disscus! How long did is take for you to personally finish LoGH, or how long is it taking you? What factors do you think came into play? =D

I don't even know... I started around last Summer, (maybe Spring of 2007) and I ended it around the beginning of this year... I think. I don't even know. All i know is that it took a tremendous amount of time.

I don't think theres much to gain from watching the Gaiden series (who cares how the admirals and lohengram advanced in ranks, considering the epicness the "original" loGH displayed ?

Im watching for nearly 3 weeks now, im about 12 eps before end...

This anime is displaying a sort of epicness that is quite awe inspiring.. after 98 episodes, i have to say.. wow, this here is probably the only anime that made me think for more than 2 seconds about it, about the philosophies and motivatios, about goverments and warfare and the intermingling of politics and war with relations to our real world history too

I cant shake the feeling off though that the nations in this anime are somewhat connected to the history of mankind as a whole, after all the lohengram dynasty is very much alike to the mighty Preussian Empire, while Phezzan is more akin to the Dutch Trader Unions or the Fugger (from the middle ages) (autocracy) .. and the free planets well.... they display all the faults of mob rule and no good sides, when a charismatic ruler comes along, democracy just becomes moot... especially when he can root the people...

All in all, this is a one-of-a-kind Anime and may even be underrated on Mal, i cant think of a single anime that moved me as much as this one ! ;)

I started watching LOGH in early 2007. I watch it in batchs of 5 or 6 episodes. Since its unlicensed, its fairly easy to find on most torrent sites. I bought an external hd just for LOGH because its so long.

I am up to episode 92...

It is fricking awesome, but I still find it difficult to marathon due to the large amount of text to read.

The factor for me... I love the scenery and the clothing. The spaceships look really cool. Also, it's like reading a debate, kind of but not really. The realism in this show definitely works for it, not like a lot of other slice of life shows that end up boring. Overall, it is its own self. One thing that gives it more depth is the fact that it was original light novels. The anime actually started as subscription service for fans of the novels. It later got in television in Japan and then in China. The Chinese love Legend of the Galactic Heroes. France has it too...

I finished the OVA series and the three "movies" in maybe one month. I watched approximately 4 episodes each night after work ;)

A month or so back last year for the main series, not counting movies and gaidens. What can I say, it was too compelling a watch for me to take it slowly. Still working on the Gaidens as and when CA releases them.

I started the series in mid-June, and I'm about to finish it today or tomorrow, so that's roughly around 3 months.

My first time through it I marathoned it, I think I finished in five days. I put the Gaidens off till they were finished, then marathoned them in two days. Great story, if it were only 25 episodes I'd have probably rewatched it a hundred times already.

Three months for main OVA. With series like these there's no need to rush.

It took me almost 6 years.

I watched the first 12 episodes in 2001, and I started up again as the digital subs started to come out. It's probably the longest it has taken me to finish a series. Though I haven't seen all the gaiden stuff yet.

I would really like to sit down and watch it a second time in a week long marathon.

Actually, for me, it's one of the few anime that I can watch at a steady pace because the story is so good. (Normally I take months to finish even a 12 episode show.) I watched the first two episodes in June, then picked it up again about a month ago and I've been hooked ever since. I'm up to 44 now, so that's 42 episodes in about a month -- that's a lot for me. It helps that sci-fi/space opera (and politics) is my favourite genre.

Several years, I started watching anime around 2004, I probably started logh in 2005 and I finished it when central anime released the last episodes, so in 2008 if I remember well..... lol, even the time to watch it is epic. Several years!

About a month, maybe closer to a month and a half but I wasn't really keeping track. This is also with me working full-time, my fiance going to school full-time, all while -still- working on our hobbies. I tried watching it sometime last year, got about 2 episodes in and stopped because I had a lot going on at the time. My fiance picked it back up sometime in January, so I had to play catch up so we could watch the rest of it together. lol

Honestly, I've been meaning to watch it for a while now, but the episode count kept me away for a while, and it wasn't until around the end of the first season did I really get hooked. It's really weird, as usually I'm not into sci-fi and/or drama series but LoGH is epic on every level, I'm going to have a hard time finding another series to top this one.

it took me 11 days, IIRC. before starting it, I told myself that 3-4 episodes would suffice for one day and that would be the routine for the next couple of weeks. clearly, that didn't work out so well as after finishing the first season, as I found myself completely hooked on it and could not stop watching. It just snowballed after that and I was watching more episodes than I had the previous day.

Started with the first two episodes when C-A started but looking at the length of the series opted to put it on hold, which I did. Later when they finished the main series I decided to watch it everything from the beginning again and I think I watched it all in two weeks and something in my work spare time (night, weekends...). Epic journey.

It took me about a year to watch it from Beginning to end. The more episodes I watched, the more I got into it, and the more I Reccomended it to people. I finished it on (Of all the days of the year) Haloween, the day of the last con I'd be attending that year (MangaNEXT). Overall it was quite a ride, and it officially overtook FMA as my favorite anime.

I was stuck up through episode 46 for a number of years, because that's all that had ever been fansubbedon VHS. I ended up getting some Chinese bootlegs of the show just so I could finish it (at the time, it looked like nobody would ever pick up on subbing it). I think I spent about 5 days on it from start to finish, once I had all of it. I'm currently watching it again for the fourth time.
