| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Minato and Kushina are the best! Minato owned Madara well Tobi! baby Sasuke and Itachi as a child :D! Kyuubi no long under Madara's control is now berserk and wreaking havoc in Konoha. Kushina uses the last of her chakra to get the kyuubi under control. Minato decides to seal the kyuubi insider their child. They both sacrifice themselves and jump in front of the kyuubi's attack when he tried to kill Naruto when he figured they were going to seal him in their child. Last words from Kushina were so mother like to baby Naruto! I couldn't help but want to cry. Naruto tells Kushina the words she wanted to hear and what he wanted to tell his parents as she disappears. Mod Edit: Modified title. |

| Wow. I honestly don't remember when was the last time I actually had goose bumps for an entire Naruto episode. What's even more mind blowing is that the next episode might actually top this one off. Damn now I'm excited. 5/5 Edit: Oh shit. I eventually figured out why this discussion was called ep 248&249... Well, after watching episode 249 I confirmed my expectations. Damn, that was just too good. 5/5 for this one aswell obviously. |

| Minato sure is epic BUT I still can't understand why he had to sacrifice himself as well. Even if Kushina's death together with the Kyuubi would have only delayed its revival, SO WHAT. He could have raised Naruto and he wouldn't have had to suffer such a childhood :c Forsaking your country is the same as forsaking your child - how about no? Really, Naruto needed him (his Mom as well) and he goes off and kills himself. Kushina's death alone could have saved them for the moment, he could have been a great Dad AND could have thought of a plan to defeat Madara/Tobi. And I'll probably NEVER understand why the whole village hated Naruto, at least the ones who knew he's Minato's son could have helped him. Third Hokage and Jiraiya for example :c but still, splendid episode, cried so fucking much, also when Itachi & Sasuke were shown ;u; |

| Wow, I never Naruto of all shows would have me tearing up. First time in a long while I've really really enjoyed an episode, to bad that's all we will get of Minato. If Only Kushina had died than it seemed it would only have been a temporary solution, but what was wrong with him taking half of the Kyuubi to his death and sealing half in Naruto? Wouldn't that have given Kushina a chans to live? Did she have to die for some other reason of is it a really just because she jumped infront of the Kyuubi? If it was, then that mut a been one of the most pointless deaths ever! Minato could have saved Naruto just fine and now he lost both his parents. Good job! -_- She was going to die either way since Jinchuriki die if their tailed beast is extracted, at least that's how it worked for all the ones the Akatsuki captured (only exception being Gaara, and technically he did die, he was just resurrected), I don't see why it would be any different for Kushina. |

Good job! -_- Kushina was already dying because of the nine tails been released which pretty much drained her chakra, she's only surviving a bit longer because of her Uzamaki bloodline. And due to her natural instinct as a mother she dived to protect Naruto preventing him from being killed. Like Minato said its better off saving her last bit of chakra and seal it into Naruto so she could help him in the future. For Minato, the only way to seal half of the foxes power was to use the death god seal technique which in return takes the users soul. This was to reduce the excessive amount of burden for Naruto. So either way they were both pretty much gone. |

| 249 was great.. i cried. this was one of the best episodes uptil now, the last moments of minato and kushina with naruto were so emotional, one of the most emotional scenes ive seen uptil now, almost as sad as Clannad After Story. |

| Nice episode Minato would have made a great protagonist with his own Anime. And his fighting style is very nice to watch it's clear to see how he became a Hokage at such a young age. I do feel sorry for Kushina being tormented right after giving birth. |

Well, if we do this like math Nine-tails = Killed people + Destoryed Village Hate = Nine-tails Naruto = Nine-tails Since Hate is Nine-tails, Naruto must equal Hate. Therefore we come to the conclusion as to why the village hated him with some simple math. |
| ^ That pretty much sums it up. People in general are stupid. For example, black neighbour = trouble; therefore, all black people must be trouble. Nine tails = trouble; therefore, Naruto must be trouble. And to the person who said they couldn't understand why Minato sacrificed himself, well, did you forget he's the 4th Hokage? Minato said earlier in this episode, his village is his family. It is his duty, his right, his obligation to protect the village. He can't be so selfish to half ass his 'mission', he's a Shinobi after all. Plus, imagine the shame this man would have to bare if he knew he could've had the chance to finish the job there, but didn't. So imagine what those 'stupid' villagers would've said about him. |

| Great double episode! It was one of the most emotional episodes of Naruto ever, and pretty epic at that as well. The death of Naruto's parents made literally cry. 5/5 for me |

| Really epic. Especially their last moments T_T 5/5 So i wonder who is the mask man.. The part that show Itachi saying both their parents are not at home is quite suspicious. Also the village people are really so stupid. Why do they hate Naruto? Naruto don't equal Kyuubi. Naruto is naruto. I understand if they stay away from him, scared of him, try to kill him because the kyuubi inside him kill someone they love. But they HATE him, glare at him, throw stuff at him, shoo him away, show him disgusting faces. All this affect Naruto himself only, it doesn't affect the kyuubi. These people really need to think. |

| That was.. awesome. Now I can clearly say that these two episodes showed us how this series can be good. If all episodes could be just like this and if they won't spam fillers all the time then I would love this series even more. Hope for more episodes like these, good job! |

| Has nobody else noticed Itachi and Sasuke's parents being (conveniently) out, in the evening/night, leaving their 4/5 year old and young baby alone - without a doubt shifty people, I woudn't be suprised if the majority of the Uchia's share the 'masked man' role (a mystery that got stale years back). Minato actually had no real reason to die in all honesty (the reasoning behind his sacrifice decision, not the death itself). Also, looking threw the board - Kushina hasn't recieved nearly enough credit IMO... Childbirth is horrific; said to be the worst pain you could endure and it still takes lives, also, it's impossible to have energy afterwards, ontop of this, she also went threw a forced exorcism and was moved about during a chaotic, unexpected set-up, yet she was still able to think on her feet and put herself to great use more then once. Personally, I'd say she deserves more praise then Minato (include the above), she is in equal part the village saviour. Always great to see the 3rd. Nobody taking out a contract with Monkey King Enma is a waste. :( The 9 tails didn't put up much of a fight IMO. It's assault on the villiage didn't appear the mass disaster it was made out to be? Very lovely ending. |

If this was reality, I'd have to agree, the evil/bad characters in shows never go to full potential. I've yet to see a evil/bad character take advantage over some easy-to-see hole.. --- The second episode, 249, was my favorite episode so far hands down. Seriously, first episode to make me cry like that, the other deaths weren't nearly as bad.. Was it just me or was the quality of these episodes much better than recent also? I thought it was great, wish I could go get stuck in a situation like Groundhog Day right now, hehe :) |

| This episode was absolutely amazing. This is by far my most favorite naruto episode ever. The back story was tragic and we finally learn the whole truth behind naruto's seal and the nine tails. Also their is so many familiar faces in their younger days that show up during this battle. This was full of so much nostalgia, it was pretty cool seeing the younger sarotub with king emni fight off the nine tails. Tobi was the one behind it all, and i figured as much. Its been along time since ive actually broke down in tears watching a episode. Kushina and minato, both naruto's mom and dad shielded their son like that and both died from the attack. MAN that was intense. This is the perfect episode right before the close of this arc and the begging of the world war. They also used some new sound tracks that fit the theme and drama so well. BUT DAMNIT, change the opening already. |

| This is one of the strongest moments in Naruto. I loved this part in the manga... And the animators and voice actors did an excellent... no perfect job! This has instantly became one of my favorite episodes in Naruto. I knew what will happen.... but I still got goosebumps. I guess this double episode is too epic. Tears welled up on my eyes on this episode. That is what you call a strong family bond and love. Kushina and Minato... too epic to be described by words. I can't help but love this series so much. |

T.T AND yes, I agree Minato didnt have to die! it was really selfish: 'its me who will kill Kyubi and save Konoha and its me to whomy son will be thankful for amazing power even if i will have to sucrifice my wifes dreams and sanity of my son and my soul'... and animation of Kyubi destroing Konoha was awsome^^' |
| What an awesome Special of 2 episodes in a Row! =) The animation was so damn good from the moment Tobi takes the Nine Tails from Kushina. That scene in particular made me wonder lots of thing, like the previous episode. I had this discussion on the forum with another Follower of Naruto about Tobi being suspicious with all his knowing of Sealing Jutsu... however, in this episode, he somehow made me doubt my theories lol. I'm more worried about Itachi complaining about his parents being away for the night... babysitting his brother at this young age ? This is very weird too. I really enjoyed the part when we see many people at younger age like Kakashi and Guy. It was sweet. The scene where Tobi appear and do his summoning jutsu was kind of Eerie. I liked the whole scene where Kyuubi start attacking the village. The animation was awesome. Minato is so fucking awesome! His fight with Tobi was epic. Even tho I knew what was coming I admit it... I cried. All Kushina told Naruto before dying / disappearing made it for me. The emotion really reached me. It's something Naruto never failed to do except in fillers moment (lol). and Probably one of the reason I'm still watching Naruto after all those years ! =) Can't wait for next week! |
