| I'm looking for a romance anime that won't bore me to death with a confession at the last episode. I'm looking for something that has the characters together for most of the show/ getting to '3rd base' and beyond or at least multiple kissing scenes . I'm really looking for more with that element in it, not necessarily shown (aka no hentai) but at least an element in the story. examples: Nana, Itazura na kiss, Paradise Kiss, Kimi ga nozomu eien, peach girl, bokura ga ita,white album even school days lol. Usually r rated anime's are good and it doesn't have to be in the romance genre, just as long as it has relationships the meet the criteria. (things like Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi, gantz, any other rated r anime with intimate scenes) |

| I hated kemonozume's visuals so i dropped it, and as far as makoto shinkai the only things I've heard about from him are the place promised in our early days and 5 centimeters per second, they don't really fit my description but I added them anyways. |

| Not really intrested in anime from the 80's/ early 90's but I've seen/ looked at the rest giving genji monogatari sennenki another try for some reason it was on my dropped list. I think it was animated wierd or something. |

| I watched an episode of two of saikano a long time ago, didn't really like it. And not really interested in lesbian or gay anime or manga at the moment. Are you sure lovely complex fits my criteria it looks like a regular rom com? Could you explain katanagatari a little more if you think its fits. |

LovCom is a standard school rom com, but the main couple gets together around the middle of the series and starts dating etc. I don't remember it ever making it to sex, but its been awhile since I last saw it. Katanagatari has the confession in the first episode, but the guy has extremely stunted social skills, so while they are very touchy feely and he's very clear about his love for her, its not clear if he really understands romantic love until much later in the series. |

| Yah I've added a couple things to my list looking for some more recommendations. |
| Make sure to watch the Bungaku Shoujo Memoire OVA before the movie. It helps a great deal to understand the characters. RahXephon also has a nice romance embedded. Don't know if you like the rest of the show though. |

| also can't help but notice most of the serie's you mentioned are shoujo ^^ nothing wrong with that but i generaly avoid that because bokura ga ita seriously backfired on me. so maybe some of the women here will pick up on this and could suggest some of their favorits. |

| If you're willing to check out manga, Kare Kano definitely does the 'beyond third base'. I have NO idea about the anime version, though. But the anime suffers some pretty bad budget issues in the last few episodes. |
