One Frame Man or whatever the joke is going on isn’t very far from reality, and you don’t even have to be a know-how to see how badly the people behind this have dropped the ball, smh. If there was something called, “bare-minimum”, then yeah, we’ve got that bare minimum itself. Mind you, this Garou match-up wasnt even in the top 20 fights among MANY we’d see in this arc, and yeah, we’re out of juice already.

Also, director can simply pack it up and go do some farming or stuff back home, maybe he’ll make it there, because yeah, we can blame the animation and how badly most of the stuff looks, though hey, the direction is equally bad, because most of the time you’re waiting for something to happen… which eventually isn’t happening, just making everything around uber awkward. I know we jump here and there throughout this arc, or more like it’s a problem of this series, but yeah, can we not make it a bit less jarring… we can, right?

Anyway, it’s a very long arc and this build-up phase is going to be around here for very long as well. Can only hope we don’t hit the bottom of the barrel even more sooner.

aoki animated the garo fight here too so aoki will carry jc staff again like he did with season 2 when he animated most of the action sakuga but still fans complained about season 2 quality overall and lets face it compared to other ace animators of big studios then aoki is a mid ace animator

but blame bandai namco and the rest of the production committee for this mid shit

also based on the staff list this episode is outsource heavily

Hahaha, it's terrible. I laugh so I don't cry. Not even random, unknown animes have such poor animation (movement, realism, fluidity). That's in the first three episodes—it only has about 10% fluid animation throughout; the rest is just static or semi-static images. Even the fights are rigid and horrible; it doesn't look natural at all.

90% of the storyboards are exactly the manga panels, guys trust me read the manga while seeing the episode, i respect every one's effort but that's one to one from manga done badly , like they don't know that the plank background in manga is a background, they just put it as a colorful character on a black background

This episode is sooo midddd, the fight was short and not even that good. The last fight was horrendously bad, like I'm watching a 2010 anime
Actually, One Frame Man....Dam you, Bandai Namco, poor Aoki and JC.Staff,

It just shows how they barely had any time. The ninja fight looked rough and unfinished af. The editing and direction of the Garou fight was bad tbh. animation good though.
The amount of ignorance in these threads always is sad to see. It's NOT JC STAFFs fault.

Bandai Namco barely gives them any resources and time and it's so obvious to see

As always quite a few of the blockheads in the comments. Episode is absolutely not offensive in anyway. Although dialogues lack movement, to say that they have none would be just lying. It's surprising to see Nagai or animators trying to be ambitious with action scenes. Because in season 2 both dialogues and action scenes have been 1 to 1 copied from the manga, while first proper fights, which are shown in season 3 actually has original shots. Hopefully this ambitions won't backfire for the team, but I look forward to what they can achieve in the future.

Okay, I’m done. I’m not wasting my time on this garbage anymore. The animation is overloaded with still frames, and the storyboarding and direction are absolute trash (especially during that waterfall fight scene... oh my God). It’s insane how something this poorly made actually got approved by the director. No surprise though, this guy literally directed hentai before and has never handled an action series in his life. And it really shows. And honestly, at this point it doesn’t even feel like incompetence, it feels like a money laundering scheme disguised as animation work

Rest in Peace, One Punch Man anime. Once a masterpiece that defined the very peak of animation, now nothing more than a disgrace far below mediocrity. Your legacy will not be forgotten.

Honestly I felt bad for the director at first. But this episode solidifies my opinion on him being utterly incompetent at his job. The pacing is so bad that every dialogue feels unserious. He somehow managed to butcher the Aoki fight scene that was animated 1.5 years ago by removing parts of it, heck he even removed the Saitama panting animation with still frame, I guess we really want this season to be known as one frame man eh? Oh the episode itself is full of single frames accompanied by panning shots with barely any animation. And let's not even talk about the waterfall fight scene.
Genuinely shameful display.

A lot of information in this episode, I think it's a good decision to rush it as fast as possible even at the risk of confusing audience. Many people might not know that Zombieman is also a subject of desire among yaoi fan. I still prefer Garo though, he's in a bad shape now but I don't believe for a bit that he died. It'll be interesting to see what he'll do to save the boy. I think the word "Vigilante" might be the best to describe him. Yes, he's also anti-hero that beat up other heroes but as you may know, anti-hero is also hero, and the fact that he hasn't kill any human yet means he still has high moral, not to the point to prevent him from dine-and-dash though.

Okay Garou got destroyed (but he's coming back) some boring talk between Saitama and his friends and some setup for the monster kidnapping, that poor kid has a "friend" now in his cell.

Another very meh episode, low budget animation and it's not even entertaining...

Okay, yeah, this is very rough.

The Garou fight is basically the pre animated trailer fight from last year, and it looks decent, probably because it's mostly animated by Kenichiro Aoki himself (God bless him). But the pacing somehow is worse than the teaser trailer, and they removed some shots.

The rest of the episode is just exposition with still frames, mouth movement, camera panning slowly and occasionally body animation which is very limited. It's just rough to watch 10 minutes of exposition scene where they just talk and there's nothing to look at other than still images. I know it's just them talking to each other and you would think there's no need that much animation for such scene, but I have seen lots of anime that have expisition scenes that still fill with animation that keep the audience engaging to the story.

The pacing is also very off, the comedic timing does not work at all, that whole Saitama apartment scene is so boring to watch.

The ninja fight is laughable, it feels like it's unfinished.

1:50 aye this guy again too 🤣 it’s been a couple seasons. The House of Evolution guy.

4:30 all the monsters that Saitama has taken down in season 1 🥲 memories

7:30 Garou 🫢 he’ll live 🤣

9:45 I KNEW IT! HE DID FORGET ABOUT THE CABBAGE! 🤣🤣🤣 I pointed that out last episode

10:30 Fubuki is pissed 🤣 as she should be

13:10 “Please summarize to 20 words or less” 🤣 throwback

13:40 THE MEAT BRIBE WORKED 🤣🤣🤣

I’m just grateful we got a season 3. Some animes never receive more than 1. Animation isn’t even bad to me. I’ve seen worse like CGI shit.

Okay... the Garou part of the episode was pretty good and that's thanks to Kenichirou Aoki, but that's about it. tbh. The direction felt a little too fast, ngl. Like I'm watching the show on 1.3x or something. Aside from that, Garou went down because he let his guard down there, and Tareo was kidnapped by the monsters.

Garou is not dead or anything, but he seems like he's passed out because of too much loss of blood there. Tareo did find the other kidnapped kid there, although he's pretty cocky given his father's status in the Hero Association.

Well, the animation for the Garou fight was decent. Not "great" or "amazing." But "decent." The fight between two of the Monster Association members could have been better though. But it was alright overall.

Yeah just throw this whole season away lol 💀

I said it before and I'll say it again, season 1 was both the best AND worst thing that could have happened for this series. It put OPM on the map and boosted its popularity but it was truly like catching lightning in a bottle, setting the standards and expectations so high that subsequent season were just doomed from the start.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

I no longer see how you can logically defend this anymore. They even cut that sick-ass deflection by Garou against Bug God from the preanimated original version of that fight.
And YES, that was in the manga, too.

Their time is clearly stiff. Why did they feel the need to re-animate the Garou fight? Is it to fit Zombieman's exposition?

and ya'll can shut the fuck about the Director, if ANY OTHER DIRECTOR helmed this — it would be visibly melting by now. And it's easily the best composited season at that.

Unfortunately this Season is cooked. I had some hopium but now... It's very sad. This Series was my first anime and manga which drew me in world of many epic and touching stories. Why did this have to happen. It's always the same. You think it'll finally be okay, but it turns out the same as always. Only easy money everywhere. 3/10. But I will watch it till the end for those who tried to make it good despite everything.

People need to stop defending and cutting slack to the director and JC Staff. Of course Bandai is the main culprit in this, but the direction and pacing has been crap in these 3 episodes and outside one fight scene, the animation has been at best mid and at worst still frame.

For addition context, they had this way back in the preanimated version from the teaser trailer last year. No fucking clue why they got rid of it for more underwhelming additions.

That fight scene between Garou and the monsters was pretty decent honestly (compared to what we have seen so far) and also considering the horrendous schedule that was given to the production team at J.C staff to make this anime they did better than what I expected, yeah its not anything spectacular to look at but its still way better than TBATE.
