What a beautiful opening. This is among my favorites so far for the Fall season.

This first episode gives off a very different vibe compared to the previous ruined world. Fushi is now in a modern world with technology after waking up. Look at how happy he is but seriously, Fushi is experiencing something completely new. A pretty interesting way to launch the third season with all that happened before.

Stuff happened, don’t ask me what, because I couldn’t even begin to explain or remember, and now we’ve somehow jumped to modern day Japan, where our boy Fushi has just woken up. Schools, students, buildings, it all looks perfectly normal. Except ofc, nothing in this show ever is normal. So what’s strange this time? Familiar faces are reappearing in random places.

There's also the whole thing with Kahak’s descendant, a gifted and beautiful child, is being abused, driven so far she’s on the verge of suicide... Honestly, this might be the first time I’ve really felt that this comes from the same author as A Silent Voice. Well, then we quickly snap back to the goofy tone this show is known for. What’s not so goofy though, is how these kids don’t exactly seem like the brightest bunch, aside from Kahak’s descendant that is. Like bro just invited a total stranger he met less than 30 seconds ago to his house because he thought he was cool or something... like what lmaooo.

Anyway, Fushi and the new main girl finally meet at the end, so let’s see where things go from here. Also, that new OP fucking sucks. They honestly should’ve just kept the Utada one ngl.

Part 3 of Fumetsu no Anata with Fushi entering the modern world, it's quite the new story for him to forge new friendships.

Though the bad part about the manga has soon to reach this one, let's see if the anime retains this change.

Season 2 already nose-dived hard enough, but here we are, still kinda free-falling. Not sure how to feel about this one. You can't even say it's the adaptation doing things, because nah, this is actually how the source has been written.

Another 20-something episodes incoming… let’s just pray it doesn’t end with everyone casually house-hunting on Mars or something lol.

My most awaited anime of this season. Solid start, though I'm not sure if I like all this old cast coming back - with addition of new characters it seems a bit crowded? Anyway, I'm not satisfied, I need next episode...

It was a little rushed, tbh. This feels like 2 or 3 episodes' worth of content smushed into one. There wasn't a lot of time to breathe, set up atmosphere or let things settle, because you're thrown into the next scene immediately.

dose he finally hook up with one of Hayases descendants. lol ya, probably not.

Anyways exited to see how it unfolds.

even though i saw it coming its sad to see they didn't really improve the quality from season 2. this show deserved better 😔

First second after seeing Mizuha's face. "I think we're gonna have to kill this girl." "Damn"

I liked The Beholder haunting Fushi around.

Next drink will/could be a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

I wonder the threshold of who to to bring out far away. "Yeah, March can deal with it alone. But better bring Eko in safety, with me." -Fushi

Feels weird not hearing Pink Blood as the OP.

Season 3 is here and right away we're thrown into the modern day. Not sure how I feel about that but we'll see how it goes.

I feel like they rushed/gave few scenes less attention than it was in manga. The whole second part of the story is weird in general, but like, it has it's own interesting impact. Of course it's just epsidoe 1, but I expected more from Fushi waking up scene and him summoning his friends.

Ah yes depression no anata season 3 is here.

The transition to the modern world is refereshing. Hopefully we get some heartwarming stuff to brace ourselves for the suffering.

I already want to punch mizuhas mom. Shes practically just making her daughter a talent horse for her to show off in competitive areas. Like god let your child live her life, shes achieved so much already. Also not letting her meet her own grandpa is also a scummy move.

March is also confused but atleast getting taken care of for the time being. Wonder how the other cast will adapt, its gonna be interesting.

Fushi still understanding stuff and trying to make everyone happy. God knows how hes going to adapt to this new world. Atleast for now he has a home at yuukis place which is nice since they are good people.

Mizuha has not enough problems at home now she even has jealous classmates too trying to bully and mess with her. But atleast it backfired in their faces, lol love to see it.

Finally Mizuha meets Fushi. Lets see how it develops from here. More roller coaster of emotions coming.

That was a wild first episode of this new season. Fushi believes that he is now in a peaceful world but every era of mankind has some kind of problem and there's no real peace. Fushi's gonna learn that soon.
Aoki is so cheerful. His family is so lovely. I'm glad that Fushi ended up in his home instead of some where dangerous. But Aoki can't seem to keep his mouth shut lol
And is Mizuha a descendant of Parona or Hayase or some kind of reincarnation of either ?
So excited for this modern world arc. Can't wait for the old gang to join Fushi.

It's weird not hearing Pink blood anymore, I'm going to miss it.

The part most criticized by readers, I'm still hyped despite my slight disappointment with season 2.

Hayase has quite a genetic heritage. Centuries later, her descendants still look just as much like her. I can't wait to see how her relationship with Fushi will evolve.

@WilliamMinerva20 The Jpop group performing the OP, Perfume seem to be pretty popular in Japan even after being 20+ years in the business (going on hiatus next year though). I looked up some videos of their concerts and they are very impressively done.

Even by anime standards some of the newer characters got way too friendly and too comfortable with Fushi way too fast. Maybe it's just me.

I remember stopping reading the manga shortly after this because I didn't like the direction the story was heading to. Fushi became too OP for my liking, and he was still acting too naive for someone who lived 1000s of years (I am not talking about him being surprised at modern stuff, that's understandable).
Saying that, the new opening (the song was awesome, I might like it even more than Pink Blood) and the first episode gave me some hope for the future. I like the visuals and the teasers of future events in the opening and I like how the episode was directed.

I actually find the drastic change in setting really refreshing and im curious where they are taking this Mizuha character and how her lineage is gonna clash with Fushi. Really I think I find fushi such a loveable character I probably will enjoy this season alot off of him even if its as weak as people have said this last 3rd is.

The new main girl (Mizuha I think her name was?) definitely is giving off hints that she's of Hayase/Hisame's lineage and I'm not sure how I feel about that....(though I guess it was Hayase that was the purely psycho one and the later part of the lineage from season 2 well...wasn't THAT bad...)

@zz2000 More than just being pretty popular, Perfume is one of the most famous girl groups in Japanese pop history, there is hardly anyone in Japan above the age of 20 who doesn't know them! They haven't done a lot of anime themes before because their music doesn't really lend itself to it, but they finally got a proper OP song so I've caught up on this show just because of them hahaha.

Good choice of performance! That was one of their best Tokyo Dome concerts and that says a lot!
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

I would expect Fushi's journey to have become mythology, not for him to be relegated to something believed by occult researchers. When he got hit by the truck and that guy was posting videos of him on the net, I thought everyone would realize who he was.

@AhmedJafar1 I don't get how Fushi becomes too OP. He is immortal and can make anything that has stimulated him. It's expected that as the story goes on more things will stimulate him and he will be able to recreate those things which add up. I think the only really increase in his power was when it was revealed he could bring back people.

@Kanelbullar It's not just you, I found it absolutely jarring. Like the modern world has turned everyone stupid, and Fushi gives no regard for anyone's well being or even his own.

Great start for this arc, i didn't know what i expected but i already dig the vibe and new cast, for a supposed SOL and comfy arc judging by the opening it seems to have it's share of drama, i also wonder if Fushi's companions can grow older and live in peace in this era,

Anyhow expecting to cry a lot watching this as usual

Oh and ending visual is absolutely spectacular
