Should one discuss anime with a person who is beneath them?

So I was talking with Clarissa about Sailor Moon, specifically who's the most beautiful and I said Venus is best because she has great tits and a nice ass but she tells me I am beneath her because I am a man and men aren't equal when talking about shoujo anime. She says Usagi is best and I should go with that because she knows better. When I confronted her about Magi which is a shounen manga, she says I am irrelevant because I am Sinbad hater. I personally think she is an idiot.

How to deal with these people? Should you even try to talk about anime with them?

No Catalano, your imaginary friend Clarissa shouldn't discuss with you.

Sorry OP, there's really no point in me discussing this topic with you.

@Zarutaku The same guy who goes on random forums to hate on Mushoku Tensei btw.

This phrase say's a lot. Semantics is a bitch some times. Essentially should you discuss anime with a passionate fan? Can be an engaging conversation or toxic depending how the personalities mesh.
So to answer the question of the thread, should one discuss anime in that environment? idk do wat u want and wat makes u happy.
If you enjoy passionately discussing anime with concepts of being above or beneath others in the realm of discussing said anime, then go for it.
If it bothers you then disengage, or proportional to how well you know the other person open a conversation to come to an understanding about the way ya'll communicate to each other.

By the sounds of it you both have the accepted mutual understanding that she thinks you're beneath her (at least in the realm of shoujo) and you think she's an idiot. So I don't see any reason to no longer have discussions if both parties want to have waifu wars.

You're both wrong, Haruka/Sailor Uranus is objectively the hottest character in the series. Of the core cast, I would say Ami. Venus and Sailor Moon herself have the most basic character profiles for my money. Usagi is a loveable goof, but Venus is a bit bland, wish they'd made more of her being a minor celebrity with games and manga about her/SV.

And to your point OP, you don't discuss with such people as 'Clarissa the Teenage Numpty' (i have no idea who she is, just felt an appropriate moniker) if they begin spouting off nonsense such as 'you're a man, you can't understand shoujo'. The SM franchise was directed by men, Satou and Ikuhara, giants of shoujo anime.

Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna are the best looking ones. Outer Senshi > Inner Senshi.

@FMmatron Agree, outer>inner guardians. I'd forgotten Setsuna/SP, she'd be my 2nd overall, then Michiru. That might be because the inner gang are all very teeny, being ofc, teenagers. They have fun banter, but can all be rather annoying at times. Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna all act much more mature, and thus I find them more appealing. But that's me. We can all have our own opinion.
