This episode kinda had it all - baths, fighting, and delicious food. Not going to lie, that goth looking woman gave off some creepy vibes.

But yeah, seeing Boxxo and the party taking care of business like usual its still a nice to see.

This anime make me want to see more vending machine, but the increase in vending machine would mean a decrease in convenience store, it's hard to strike a balance!

3 episodes until we win a 777 jackpot with the announcement of season 3.

I hope that's true, because this is one of the most fun series of the season (and of Summer 2023) for me!
It definitely doesn't have the highest quality neither in production nor in story, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it every week!
It also seems like the Web Novel is finished, so it's possible we get a full adaptation (which would make me very happy).

More vegetables, more trees! I approve of the decision to randomly take a bath on the way to fight the boss. All that's missing is to get Boxxo in there and hope he doesn't short.

Then we got some fodder general and her weak-ass chains, better suited for a metal band than for combat. No, the real threat here is Kikoyu and her produce. Careful with those sweets, Boxxo. Don't you start an obesity epidemic now.

3:45 HAKKON DODGING HULEMY’S QUESTION 🤣🤣🤣

14:08 “Sure I look black, but I’m not blackhearted.” 💀

17:20 that was anticlimactic 😅 she was kinda creepy.

Hakkon vs. Kikoyu 🤭🤣

Shouldn't they have gotten a coin from the big tree?

An episode full of deforestation and forest fires.

It doesn’t matter that the Dark Lord is the villain to defeat—what really matters to Boxxo is not losing customers to Kikoyu.

I was wondering that too. I guess whoever started the fire would have gotten it, but the implication was that was ghost girl, so they should have it since they captured her. Unless not every stratum lord has one?

@phantomfandom They have gotten WAY TOO EXPENSIVE in the US. Not that C. Stores are cheap. And we don't have the variety that they have in Japan.

@Mirality that's a good point that maybe the ghost girl got it, I imagined Kerioil and company were responsible since they need the coins for their wish.

I was expecting a big battle with the tree but instead we got a ghost babe that looks and sounds like she belongs in a glam metal band, unfortunately she got wrecked before she really got to do anything but I dig her style at least. And thankfully the gang managed to save the people of this stratum and capture an enemy leader, a big W but still no sign of Kerioyl and his family, oh well, but hey Boxxo and Kikoyu became business rivals so that’s cool lol, that was a funny bit to end the episode on.

The hot spring bit was also a really good one, it was kinda random that they decided to build that on the way to the boss but I won’t complain about some hot spring action lol, and it’s funny that Lammis was okay with Boxxo being present but unfortunately Boxxo still had to sit out, a shame but it makes sense.

This is still one of my favorite series of the summer of 2023, 2023 in general, and as a new season of a returning show, putting it alongside the new series of 2025 for a moment, one of my favorite things I've watched from this year.

However, mentally I cannot reconcile and come to terms with the fact that there are numerous scenes of the series up to the point we're at, with the latest examples in this very episode, causing me to have the slightest twinge of doubt over my intended-for-the-long-haul and long-term beginning of series, episode one commitment to always faithfully ship Lammis and Boxxo, above and to the exclusion of any and all else. Certain Hulemy-Boxxo scenes have planted the tiniest seed of doubt in my bosom and caused that creeping sense and feeling, however fleeting, of divided loyalties.

It haunts me.

Also, I wish that we got to see even more of the Dark Forest stratum and that goes as well for the Labyrinth stratum and all the rest (even though the latter we also visited in season one). I guess we haven't gotten to see an abundance of Clearflow Lake either but considering the fact that it's the main base spent the most time in, I feel like "we" (Boxxo and co.) have strolled around a bit more there.

Considering the fact that in this universe there are apparently multiple dungeons spread out around either the continent they're on or maybe the whole world/planet as a whole and that has given rise to a cadre of rough and hearty professional adventurers/explorers and fighters who seem to live in the dungeon (at least this one - don't think we know much of anything about the other ones worldwide nor will probably see them) for at least months at a time, if not years and have permanent-looking houses and other buildings and whole town settlements, it's gotten me thinking which of the strata I would prefer to dwell on as my main base camp and for daily living, if forced to live in the dungeon long-term or for the rest of my life.

I'm partial to the the seemingly temperate Mid-Atlantic-style climate 'ol familiar Clearflow Lake stratum has in addition to what should be a high amount of lakes and rivers for fishing and scenic value. But I actually think after this recent set of episodes that Dark Forest would either be a very close second or even barely edge it out as it seems the coziest. Reminds me of something out of 17th century villages in the Schwarzwald/Black Forest region of Germany or at least a fairy tale version/impression of that.

Was grinning at the end. Boxxo has a competitor now :)

Wholesome and happy ending. So happy I expected something horrible to happen.

Someone silenced the big boss tree it seems.

I like the singing gimmick of that goth lady villain. It's not an overly common trope, and she did it well

And we got Lammis saying she didn't mind Boxxo seeing her naked (after Hulemy made sure she was aware that Boxxo's conscience is a man's)! She's so in love with him, and it's kind of heartwarming!

The fruit and vegetable monsters have become quite the mainstay, but to deal with the elder tree fiend stratum lord, there's more work to be done.

With the coldness of the Dark Forest Stratum, having Boxxo evolve into an auto retro ramen, and even a hamburger vending machine to serve the masses, there's delight in this for days on end getting ever closer to the elder tree. Even an open-air bath for a moment seems nice, until a raging fire in the forest sullies everyone's attention.

The raging fire calls for an emergency on all sides, and Hulemy betting on a risky plan using Boxxo for protection, at least they survived the raging inferno that burned down the stratum lord for real, and even find its perpetrator of the Netherlord's Junior General songstress Kayolings to capture her. A great victory for everyone considered, but at the loss of the forest, and nothing they can do about it.

It's back to Clearwater Flow stratum, where Boxxo faces even stiffer competition from Kikoyu selling fruits, vegetables and anything suitable alright.
A good work well done to all.

The continued caterer rivalry between Boxxo and Kikoyu is still highly amusing. No matter which stratum they end up at, the populus there is sure to have all their food wants met!

The singing firestarter Kayolings might have taken out the stratum lord, but she was ill prepared to face these mighty adventurers. For some sort of ghost too she was surprisingly vulnerable. I guess that's what happens when you go up against pros!

Such a cute rivalry and adds a nice touch to the series. I'm glad the group seems to be getting stronger even without Boxxo's help.
