Some of the nasty monsters aside, Ein really had to be a role model this episode. He deserves some respect in this show imo, seriously. At least some of the villagers acknowledges him.

It seems he also feels more connected to Yuri in this episode although they've had a bond since they've first met.

A flashback is a waste of time, why telling something we already know?

But at least I've to praise that those villagers are not stupid.

First part is just a repeat "wholesome" formula, monster-fight-win-then praise yuri "all because of yuri power".

Second part just a loser pathetic past villain like no one care. Author just doing some META writing past about villain, "weak, doesnt have real friend, got saved by a "bad" thing, there you go, you got a "REASON".

Next.

Nigun's backstory really threw off the rhythm of the episode, imo. Just felt wonky.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

How many years did it take for the poison to finally work on Nigun's father? It shows Nigun's giving the poison as a little kid and then it showed him a little older still feeding his dad the poison.

I guess this is a filler episode.. didn't really go anywhere, but at least we got some uninteresting backstory.

They just tried to put unnecessary drama with them saying, "he'll collapse first" or "he shouldn't push himself much". Tho the short moment spend between Ein and Yuri was cute and funny.

The domain lord, Nigun, is just a dumb idiot, like be someone reliable to your people... But his past does explains a lot about him and the people. Still the fact remains he isn't a lord material.

this episode was good I like the moment Ein and Yuri was so cute and I feel sorry about Nigun he just wanted a friend everyone will feel like that if they were in his place and that's why people don't like this anime but I think it's worth it

Damn, peeps mad about the back story. I actually liked this one. I think I liked it because of how much I dislike the show, in general. Not having to see any of the main characters for half of it was a joy. I will take cliche, edgey villain back story all day if I don't have to watch OP eyeball dude and his harem of lolis and disproportioned non-lolis.

I guess at the end of this the "young Lord" Nigun will be saved and redeemed, and all the townspeople will go on and on about how much they always loved him.

If so I swear that *always* happens in these shows, where they love showing people pledge fealty to their Lord, and say how much they love them ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ

As if Ein could have the firepower of an army to save a struggling domain against a horde of monsters, it's his conviction to save as many villagers and exterminate as much monsters as possible. And more of the villagers seeing Ein's effort to retaliate against Nigun spewing lies, they're not stupid to see his father's contributions against the lack thereof of his son depending on a demon to do the work for him.

From a young age, Nigun being lambasted by both the adults and children enough to blame himself, and being in cover with Shadow for much of his immature life, the reality only hit him when Shadow the Enticer comes clean with his plot, forcing both demon and human to become one, only for Ein to handle the dispel work thereafter.

How screwed up Nigun must be, being both manipulated and not cut out to be a lord.

i dunno if i should feel sorry for nigun for being manipulated the way he did by the demon or not. if ein wins against that viscount demon, will he be able to save nigun? i hope so.

I’m more confuse about how Nigun grow up while poisoning his father at start he looks like 8-9 while the next scene he is at least 15-16 So it did take years? Or author just forgot about timeline in general.

Well Ein’s battle with the monsters was kinda whatever, I also find it hard to believe he “nearly died” when he’s as busted as he is, but man Nigun’s part I found to be pretty good. Like yeah the plot itself is simple, bro was tricked by a demon and killed his dad when he thought he was helping, but the reveal of the trick to Nigun I thought was a well done scene, I’m not sure if the battle between Shadow and Ein will be a good one but I really liked the setup to it.

I almost wonder if Shadow will be redeemed or not tho, it showed those scenes of him and Nigun being legit friends so I think it’s possible.

@mertsi I also laughed at that lol, like they needed to rub more salt in the wound, I know it led to Nigun meeting Shadow but I think they could have done that better so it made more sense, like make it a rainy day or show other puddles in the area.

we go through the past of the corrupt Nigun that has lost prestige ever since his kind hearted father passed away, the citizens understood ein tried to help them and he failed to frame eins for being a demon. It would have been better for ein to just end nigun like that instead of going through the emotional loophole of a depressed nigun.

I’m not shocked that Ein was able to take out the entire horde on his own, but I am shocked to hear that he was moving so fast that Yuri’s healing couldn’t keep up. Not a single straggler got into the village and because of that, everyone found their courage to stand up against Nigun, or should I say Shadow the Enticer.

The puzzle pieces are making sense. Shadow used Nigun’s weak will and loneliness to his advantage to take out his father and feeding humans (the female sacrifices) to the demon realm. Nigun was fooled into blindly trusting everything he said and that’s what resulted in the current situation, and now it seems that Shadow and Nigun are now one. I wonder if Ein can use Yuri’s purification powers to separate the two like how he got rid of the demon eye that transformed Zoid.

Will this be the first battle of Ein that will have so much difficulty that it takes a good portion of this episode?

Just remember, there are 3 more episodes and there are two characters from the opening and ending that we haven’t been introduced to yet, so let’s see how the rest of this plays out.

Ein's a powerful hero but dealing with that entire horde of monkey monsters sure took a lot out of him. Yuri has his back though.

Man Shadow lives up to his demon viscount title because him befriending Nigun and having him poison his own dad to death and feed his citizens to the demon realm is dastardly.

Ein knows a thing or two about being dispirited and being used as a tool by others, so if anyone can break Nigun out of this merger. I'm sure it's him.
