Hikaru and Alma were taken to the ARMS headquarters. There, it was revealed that Hikaru was completely incompatible as a Mecha-Ude user, while Alma was placed under ARMS' watch as a protected individual. Meanwhile, a series of incidents occurred where Mecha-Ude users had their Mecha-Ude forcibly removed from their bodies. Hikaru and Alma joined Aki in investigating these incidents. |

What an amazing episode this was. Everything turned into a big dangerous mission with Aki's life on the line and Hikaru had to take a step this time around. While he was struggling in the beginning, he utilized the true power of Trigger Arm and saved Aki's life. Those guys ran off tho. So, we might face them again in the future and they seem to look like much bigger problems. But, that design looked so fucking cool on Hikaru. So cool. Also, Aki starts to like Hikaru. Cute ship. I can't wait to see more. I wanna know more about ALMA as well. |

So basically we are now beyond the plot of the pilot which finished around this point (but had less content than those 3 episodes). |

If I got caught up in something I didn’t want to be involved in and a person was slating me for not being compatible I’d just hand myself over to the enemy and let myself die |

We really need more eyes on this show man. People complain about not getting new stuff and then don’t support it. From the Sawano and Yamamoto ost to the characters and plot this one is dope. Best episode yet! For once it’s Hikaru coming to save Aki this week and showing how strong he can be. I’m really eager to find out what happened to Aki’s family, if it’s not that worm type mech arm that killed them.. who was it? Was pretty funny to have Aki being a hypocrite today, complaining about Hikaru rushing into danger and then she did the same thing letting her emotions control her and fight the worm type. Guess she is human afterall. 😂 That sawano OST during the climax man fuckkk pure chills. I can’t wait to learn more about Alma’s abilities and origins. Doc Oc looking Mech arm looks interesting.. and now Aki and Hikaru are on first name basis. The haters to lovers pipeline is undefeated lol. Shirayama is me af for shipping them. |

Not a bad episode at all. But Aki, you have no room to talk, you dragged both him & Alma into a dangerous situation! |

Ok, I'm only about 3 minutes and 40 seconds into the episode, but I had to pause to come and write this. The writing for the Aki is all over the place. She tried to kill him last episode even though she was trying to watch over him. And then immediately at the start of this episode she's like "we don't need you and my colleague here is going to show you why" and then like 1 minute later after the MC's power level is shown to be super low she sticks up for him and is like "No. He's strong." Like, this is not how you write an edgy tsundere if that's what they're going for. |

Kinda sucks being talked down to all the time like you are useless, Hikaru want's to help. Jun was an incredibly scary opponent. Hikaru was amazing when he unleashed the full power of Alma. At least we learn about Aki's past and why she is looking for a worm user. The most interesting thing though was at the end, looks like Aki might have a twin sister. |

Great episode, and it feels like the actual beginning of the story. I'd argue that Mecha-ude was better than Dandadan this week |

It was a nice episode, the soundtrack is great, and the animation is nice too, but like on the previous rooftop fight when the enemy basically waited for Hikaru to free Aki, now on this episode the enemy came to rescue the worm boy, and ignored the Trigger arm even though he said he was going to get it later. Why would a villain ignore his objective (trigger arm) while it is right in front of him and there’s nothing stopping him from getting it? That’s why I’m not watching MHA anymore, villains that could get what they want but don’t do it because the main character needs to stay alive. I think authors should think more about this kind of stuff and maybe avoid creating this kind of scenario, for example, on this episode they could’ve shown a person from ARMS coming to rescue Aki and Hikaru, so then it would make sense for the villain to run away without the trigger arm. |

If there was an episode needed for the show to be sold ti was this one. Not only does it portray Hikaru's character's struggles and how he'll try to overcome them in a scenario where many try to undermine him, but also a very cool boss fight against the green haired kid and a premise set with Aki's family as a subplot. She appreciated him by the end and Mori is probably on the mark that they'll end up together but for now it's good to see nice animation and a bunch of villains setting up the scene. |

Honestly not a bad show. Reminds me a lot about those old 2000s traditional shonen + trigger shows in terms of execution/ art But I think i am too old for this type of premise/ presentation . The characters / world building are not interesting enough for me to care and invest into it overall. Way too cliche type of mc growth and way too cheesy /cartoony antagonists. If they go for a darker/ more brutal route maybe I'd have care more. This show kinda has a lot of similarities between Guilty Crown and Gurren Lagoon , but Guilty Crown set up a more brutal/ interesting world whereas Gurren Lagann has a much more enduring/ likable casts and more unpredictable plot. |

And he finally had his full awakening, that was freaking cool. The animation, visuals throughout the episode were very flashy. Specially that green mecha ude abilities and Hikaru's awakening. Aki finally warmed upto him too after he saved her. She looked beautiful in the scene with her thanking him. Loved watching her stuffing her face again too. Also lol at those people telling him he was useless, if only they knew he was the protagonist. |

It seems like this episode is trying to retcon Hikaru's character in this episode, but I don't buy it. He can try to protect a kid from punks but he is afraid to give up his seat for a pregnant woman. GTFOH. Also the telling Hikaru he can't do anything schtick works better when we don't already know this kid has no real stakes in this fight and doesn't actually care. Being told you're not good enough shouldn't work for a guy who already established he's not good enough. I would say if this anime continues to be a subversion of the OP MC, the setup of the story doesn't support the idea very well. But it seems like the writers are gonna throw out the stuff from the first couple episodes to become an avengement kinda story. A typical one at that. Characters like Aki need more to them than being brooding loners who secretly have a heart of gold. Really, all these characters come across as fanfic characters that are cutouts of more nuanced characters. But I'm gonna continue to watch and hope that this animes characterization and storytelling can improve. I'm not holding my breath tho. Why didn't the episode commit to the Aki fanservice? The skirt length is inconsistent, which almost certainly was done on purpose. They could have just cut that entire scene out and everything would have flowed a lot better. Poor fanservice is always better than no fanservice. Hikaru continues to be an extremely unlikeable and unrealistic caricature of a guy. Is there any reason why this normal guy knows how to sew? Is that just a normal thing in this futuristic Japanese society? Are his few talents not worth commenting on? The fight scene was animated nicely. BTW, let me clarify something. I'm a big fan of purposefully unlikeable characters. Like the MC in Revisions of Andrea Calvacanti in Gankotsuou. All I ask from my unlikeable characters is that they be true to who they are, no matter how fantastical a world the story is. Hikaru isn't true to being a shonen, and he certainly isn't true to anything else either. Even his reluctance to be a hero is something he inhabits temporarily before becoming something else. If he was a JRPG character, he would make a fitting traitor for the main cast. But in this anime Hikaru is not up to snuff. |

The animation is good even though is giving a kinda weird feeling, I think is because the lines are not very defined during the action scenes. But it is a good mix of 3D and 2D |

Huh... I thought all of Corpa group ppls have restricted Mechas (the straps)... but this "white raven" subgroup... apparently has free-will Mechas... huh... And I guess being stuck on a shirt has both Pros and Cons... Con = easily taken Pro = can be separated from the human host (since apparently if the mecha is separated from the host, the host goes into a coma or dies after a while and the mecha becomes inactive) . BTW... how long has he been wearing that same cloth since the beginning? how many days has it been? LOL And apparently the mecha can "feel" the shirt... as it's being stitched back up... . Also... that artificial mecha... is suppose to be incomplete yet it has multiple ways to attack. I wonder how powerful it's actually suppose to be as complete... And... we got another glimps of ANOTHER hooded character at the end... they sure do love those mysterious hooded characters. |

@traed Thanks for the info on japanese train etiquette. That doesn't explain why those other kids were talking and the show made it seem like he was in the wrong for not speaking up. Are kids even allowed to tell adults to move seats? I thought all their rules about respecting age and seniority would make it difficult to impossible for him to do anything. How do you get the attention of someone you don't know thats passed out next to you in a seat? Also, trying to follow social etiquette is quite different from saving someone you don't know from supposedly dangerous people. My understanding of Japanese culture is that outside of anime and tv shows, Kitty Genovese's situation is the way every normal person behaves. If there is a problem, you call the cops, not intervene directly. Regardless of whether it would be too late or not. I believe part of the reason Yakuza are praised in media is because they don't call the cops, they directly intervene. But Hikaru is a normal asian guy who doesn't want to get involved in anything. Hence, I refuse to believe he would try to save a kid unless the story give a proper justification or understanding of why Hikaru is switching up. Being the protag of you own story isn't enough justification to change a character's motivation unless the story is poorly written. As far as sewing, perhaps you can actually sew in real life. You would be remiss to think that just anybody just knows how to sew. Girls generally learn how to sew from external motivation and guys learn because of prior interest or a need to take care of themselves or others. Even if this wasn't an anime, if a guy knows how to sew, I would expect an explanation. Most guys don't know how to sew. Why are you acting like you don't know this? |

@MFDOOMED I think it was just trying to show he's kind of timid in social situations but has a relatively good character to him. Im not sure id even call it etiquette exactly, just it's the way they communicate indirectly in various situations. I'm sure some Japanese people find it annoying that they beat around the bush so much. Well yeah it is different. When stakes are higher that would push someone to act different. What would calling the cops do when there is some secret organization that uses these things? It doesn't seem it's widely known these Mecha-Ude are a thing. I've hand sewn before without really knowing how and did fine my first attempt. Why would it be different for anyone else? Different cultures have different standards of what is the norm, males arent born allergic to sewing. Only question is if he had a mini sewing kit or just bought some supplies off camera. |

@traed I definitely can't sew and I've tried before, so I take my hat off to your superior talent. Sounds like you don't give yourself enough credit. I don't think boys and men are allergic to sewing. But I do think that most people have to learn it from somewhere and that learning has a story attached to it. A story that episode conveniently left out like it was normal. I actually disagree with your point. If a guy has trouble when the stakes are low, it's actually less likely for said guy to step up in a life or death situation. Most of the characters that help people are written to be wish fulfilment characters. Like an imaginary version of yourself that says all the cool stuff and knows what to do and when to do it. How cool that character is depends on how much awesomeness the writers are willing to let him or her have. Flip it around. Would Aki be as interesting as a character if they showed her being meek and unable to speak when she needed too? Aki can't be that character because she is a proper wish fulfilment character, the experienced buddy who still has to be saved from time to time. I like the way they chose to portray Hikaru, as the straight guy to the hot headed shonen character Alma. But that's not the character we saw in the first 2 eps. Instead we saw a normal (to the japanese) guy doing normal stuff. Not even cool normal stuff either. As far as Japanese culture, it's really hard to beat cultural conditioning. My own parents tried to condition me with Yoruba culture, but I resisted 95% of it. Even with all that, I still can't help being a Nigerian man from time to time. At least the USA doesn't actively stigmatize me for going against my culture. Hikaru is getting no passes. |

epic fights this episode, i loved the colors and overall look of the whole thing. Hikaru's transformation was super sick and im finding the "comedy" moments actually kinda funny and cute. I'm loving this so far |

Finally we're going somewhere with those 2! a significant amount of character development with the 2 MC. Hikaru fighting the green dude and being a knight In shining armor saving Aki at the end there with the music and everything Is Peak! |

With Alma being the main mech to power and Hikaru being collateral as a Mecha-Ude wielder to build Arbitrium, it may be Aki's responsibility to train Alma, but its effects erizing with humans are still a mystery. But a case of Mecha-Ude thefts has Aki being in grudge, and her dragging Hikaru along to find a kid also being on scene for reasons unexplainable, this unfortunately ends up with Aki encountering the worm-type Mecha-Ude, which she could not counter with both Sinis and Dex being enslaved away by him. Hikaru having enough of people telling him that he has got no power to wield Alma, faces him alone alongside it despite being clearly outmatched. And on the brink of defeat, gets the power-up that they both sorely need, before Kagami Group comes in to get their young master out, knowing that they'll see him and Alma again. The truth about the worm-type Mecha-Ude being the one that killed her family, for the time being...is enslaved towards the rom-com misunderstanding with Shirayama, and Aki slowly warming up to him. Safe to say that the ship sailed this early...? |

Very fun episode with good animation. There were some audio quality issues though during the action when the music was way louder than the dialogue. I liked the character journey Hikaru went through in this episode though. Hopefully it will mean he is more confident in later episodes. (7.5/10) |

they told off mc arbitrium are too weak to almost hold no power and not compatible to be a mecha-ude, but then suddenly he pulled off a transformation only a highly compatible mecha-ude could do, wtf is this shit? the power of nakama again? honestly, I liked Ouroboros power more than Alma though. |
