I really liked this episode; it’s probably my favorite so far.
  • Nice to see more interaction between Ye Xiu and Chen Guo this season. Last season was mostly Ye Xiu playing with everybody but her, so it’s nice to see her in the spotlight some more, especially since she’s significantly more subdued after the OVAs.
  • The pro chat group was great. Loved seeing some of the players from some mid-tier teams showing up, specifically getting our first proper look at Chu Yunxiu after she was briefly mentioned at the end of season 1.
  • The characters they chose to give special introductions to confuses me, the Tyranny duo, Swoksaar, Vaccaria, Cloud Piercer, they all make sense. Doubtful Demon, not so much. Fang Rui doesn’t even get to show up in the opening. Meanwhile, Xiao Shiqin (guy in the glasses on the team with a girl from the OP) is featured on the opening, but his character, Life Extinguisher, gets no introduction even though we see him interacting with the other important players. Weird. Also, Doubtful Demon got way too cool and unique of a design that it really caught me off guard, lol.
  • The Huang Shaotian/Loulan Slash and Huang Shaotian/Ye Xiu fights were fun. The first time I saw the episode, I was kinda lukewarm on them; but having rewatched it, I’m starting to appreciate a lot of the smaller moments, particularly Huang Shaotian’s special dodges against each of his opponents.
  • What really bugged me about the fights, though, was the audience. It was awkward how they recycled some of the generic background character designs for the pro players. Doubly so when we see those designs in the arena seconds after other characters with those same designs were marvelling at Huang Shaotian and the others showing up in the game. Another thing that I found annoying was the inconsistent placement of some of the more notable players. Fang Rui, specifically, would sometimes jump from sitting by himself in one shot to being in the middle of the group of important players in the next. Not sure why they didn’t just have all of the spectators sitting on their own and do split-screens for when they communicate with each other; would’ve looked better and been easier to do.
  • Something smart about the episode setup in TKA that I've always liked is how a lot of the subplots are an episode long, but instead of doing 1 episode for 1 subplot, they’ll have a subplot start in the middle of one episode and end at the beginning of the next. For example, in season 1, Huang Shaotian meets up with Ye Xiu in the second half of episode 6, but it gets concluded in episode 7. Normally, it helps to create an illusion of these subplots taking place over a longer period of time than they actually do. This time, however, the show benefits from being able to have a preview of the next episode without spoiling the ending of the fight (assuming they aren’t just going to end the fight with Shaotian just screaming out the name of an attack and that’s it). Speaking of which, super hyped for Deception, he’s a pretty big fan-favorite character.
Again, there were some noticeable issues with the audience, but I had tons of fun with pretty much everything else.

This anime doesn't have the right to be as entertaining as it is.

I usually don't care about animation at all but it makes me sad to see the anime going like this, after reading the whole Novel and waiting 2 years (I'm especially talking about Loulan Slash defending without even moving his sword).
The season is going ok but for people that know the story already, it's a bit unfortunate.

P.S.: I love to see interactions between the pro players, especially when it's Ye Xiu and Huang Shaotian ahah

all those waiting, tbh im disappointed with how it goes....
lot of thing got skipped, well yes since its just 12 ep ig, then next is prob the action scenes
they're all now just yeqiu moving in one place(idk how to explain it but you get what i mean if you watched it), they cant compare to the previous season
what even happened, i thought this was the same studio as the 3 ep ova, that was fine?? aside from the art change, action was still good and now its just really bad and its not like they just began working on it when the pandemic happen right? idk , sigh

I liked the episode, but I felt the animation getting floppy. Blocks were made without the character moving, and the offensive moves weren't well animated either. The dodging is okay, (also CGI but I don't give a damn) but all there is to keep this show moving is the storyline, which many people already know. So far though, the season is pretty alright.

Shaotian spam tagging Ye Xiu in the chat was far too real for me. Got a good laugh outta that one. I can never get enough of Shaotian and his constant trash talk, I find it very amusing.

The battle was great and yeah damn, that cliffhanger end but I'm pretty certain Ye Xiu will come out on top.

Yes indeed the 2 characters in the opening that have no introduction are probably gonna be introduced later, cause we're currently in a flashback. The beginning of s2 was a time skip, and now we're in a flashbakc, but it's actually continuous from the specials..confusing haha but hopefully I made sense. Anway: we''ll probably get an introduction later on.

As for doubtful demon, I would LOVE to see more of him indeed!! He looks so beautiful. Also they didn't use splitscreen for communication, because in glory, there is a real life voice system. So they have to be close to each other to be heard (or shout very loudly). Idk how the communicaiton between sword saint and Swoksaar happened tho. Someone translated but idk how.. o wait they're probablyin the same room outside of the game cause they're from Blue Rain haha. So one player (doutbful demon account?) could have gotten up and moved between them in real life or outside of the game haha, feels weird to say real life when they're still in an anime ..but idk for sure of course

It feels like it would have been cheaper and more effective to just put up a screen or fake wall or something to block off a corner of the internet cafe as the team's club room until they got something more permanent.

Oh snap! Dat new room.
Ye joins them.
Ye beat them.
LMAO at Ye telling them he's just too good.
Yunxiu is FINE!
LMAO The faker Ye Qiu got @'d.
Lord Grim appears in chat.
Master's here!
Shaotian vs Ye.
Nope. It's Loulan vs Shaotian.
LMAO Shaotian wont shut the F up!
Dat Enrage.
Loulan lost.
Now its Shaotian vs Ye.
LMAO Ye fucking up Shaotian.
Shaotian guessed right.
Dat ending.

LMAO I love Shaotian. He won't shut up. He don't breathe between sentences. Yunxiu was the highlight of the episode. She is a new waifu (Mucheng is #1). I hope she appears more in the series. Someone that fine can't just show up once.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

Best ep so far this season...

Love that brief scene in the pro-players group chat, especially when Huang Shaotian @ One Autumn Leaf despite that account not being Ye Xiu's anymore. Also really liked how just the presence of Ye Xiu in the group is met with a dozen greetings acknowledging him as the master, awesome.

Welp now comes the EPIC entrance... Oh Lord Grim AKA Ye Qiu AKA Ye Xiu is holing an arena battle? ALL THE PROS IS HERE TO WATCH THE BATTLE!!!
This will also get rid of any doubt for Loulan Slash, Lord Grim is the genuine One Autumn Leaf, just look at the insane numbers of spectators he has, with basically all of them being professional players. It's double the fun when he also gets to experience the disparity between his skills and pro players by getting schooled from Huang Shaotian. Of course, Ye Xiu himself did the same for Huang Shaotianafterwards lmao.

So he's now level 52 on an Unspecialized character which is not supposed to go past 50. Sigh.

Also "Is this the end of the world?" when all the pro gamers started entering the leveling zone made me laugh.
