| Wow the baseball really is less exciting than Ace of Diamond, crowd reaction is muted (literally the crowd doesnt even move), Toe fortunately brings the high energy boy attitude we need in these series,. Out of game, Toe is the best still, loved his hard work getting paid off during the study thing. |

| 5th place in tests. Good job, Touma. :D Adachi always has the main character as a lazy genius. But he is louder and angrier than others. I don't mind it, though. Always good to have something different. |

| This was the episode that hooked me. I've never watched any sports anime before, but baseball was a big part of my childhood so I gave this a shot and I'm really glad I did. While it was slow out of the gate, by the end of episode 4 I was all in. It really captures that peaceful and nonverbal experience of playing the game. Hearing the crack of a bat pierce that quiet really took me back. Toma could definitely benefit from a little more fleshing out, but I love the sense of history and legacy and internal politics of the team so far. Most of all I love the quiet little moments like Soichiro playing catch with his step-dad in the backyard. I don't know, this series just really resonates with me. |

| I like that we're finally getting to know the personalities of Sou-chan and Tou-chan now. But they'd really have to try to impress me to even think of them as equals to the Uesugi twins. Wait... Nishimura Takumi? Is he a/the son/grandson of Nishimura from Touch? He's got the face alright so he totally is! |

| @flylikegoldblum I quite agree, this is the episode where the old Touch magic is starting to really shine through under that modern polish. Respect for even the "lesser" cast members, good humour, slickly paced baseball and slowburn relationship development. I do love the old-school side character designs in this anime, every sidekick, middling player and random friend has their own unique look, no identikit anime face here! |
