| I must admit, the first few Eps I wasn't too into this anime. I think now I have gotten to a point where it is really growing on me. This episode was good and leaves me wanting more. |

| The beginning of this episode was so cheesy. Ken and Yuria laughing it up at his master's grave. Gotta love it! Shin is truly an evil guy with not a speck of good in him. I think that's safe to assume right now, because he's a guy on a powertrip who defiled his master's grave and his teachings, stealing a girl. Every cliché imaginable gets put into this show, but it's from1984 so maybe it wasn't cliché at the time. Ken also jumped off of the TOP of the castle. What a guy. |

| Man, Shin disgraced Kenshiro hard in the past. But it's still hilarious to me hearing the voices of Ataru and Mendo being in a more serious squabble instead of a more comedic one. Toshio Furukawa and Akira Kamiya's voice acting range is amazing. |
| Did his girlfriend named after a fucking Fertilizer, just give in to the bad guy's demands while her BF was getting killed? Was she expecting him to find a fucking hospital after he was left for dead or something? At-least show some respect to the man FFS. Anyway, that isn't the bigger issue for me. Bigger issue is, since this is from 1984, I am having a hard time taking any of this shit seriously, especially the brain-dead bad guys rushing in after seeing a dude explode the bodies of their fellow henchmen. This is like a shitty martial arts movie at this point. Then again, are modern movies and shows and different? Either way, paper thin revenge plot. I'm not sure what was the point of letting the little girl tag along (but Japan, so I'm guessing they have different plans for her, and that can't be good), she adds nothing to the plot or the scene. I like how the boy at-least is motivated enough to do things on his own, but I'm finding it hard to believe any of these kids can survive on their own in such a world where two steps outside your run down "village", a band of murderous bandits would kill you for fun. This universe is as stupid as universe of Book of Eli or Mad Max, if you think about it. And this universe is copying Mad Max already. All the writer did was add a romance plot to make it more "traditional" revenge fantasy. Gonna be honest, I don't think I can sit through this "bad guy of the weak" shtick for 100 fucking episodes (or more like, 150 episodes). Now we know why most shows are condensed down to 12 episodes these days, not that it has improved the quality of scripts, it just makes the shit manga writing more bearable. |
