| At first glance, turning into an Ultimate Lifeform didn't do much to change his appearance and how he transformed his hand to a cuddly squirrel wasn't all that threatening but how that vicious devil dived through Stroheim's body and carved its way up the Nazis in an instant shows that he's nothing to scoff at. Even after the sun had shone all over Kars, absolutely nothing has happened to him. The only weakness the Pillar Men had was eradicated and there's no one except Jojo who can stand up to him in this time of crisis. |

| I wanted to mention that despite the horror elements feeling less important for the atmosphere in Battle Tendency, I love that they stayed. Seeing stuff like the veins coming from under ACDC’s fingernails, Santana’s horror-movie like attack on the nazi’s, Straits body parts reforming, or here with the Monty Python and the Holy Grail squirrel forming grotesquely through flesh and tearing through a nazi. It’s something that gives the otherwise cool and absurd powers something that makes them feel real. Speaking of Cars’ new powers, he created life through his hand. He made it an animal and later a flower, two things he has protected throughout the series. It feels as though he was testing his new powers and setting up for his monstrous transformation at the end of the chapter. Cars now isn’t limited to using his fleshy body in whatever way he wants, it appears he can do literally anything with it excluding making more. I only say this because when the squirrel left his hand he had a nub. But to be able to create living beings that tear through Stroheim’s robotic body like paper mache on top of becoming a big bird beast seems to suggest near limitless, on top of him no longer fearing the sun or ripple. Something I liked about this was how Cars showed his disconnect to humans again, now he only chases Joseph and doesn’t care for the others. Part of that is, again, said to be to avenge his comrades. I like that Cars does seem to care about them to some degree if we can trust his words and his panic when Wham fought Joseph rather than assuming that was panic over losing a pawn. Perhaps it is just an excuse though, and beyond that, after killing Joseph what’s next for him? ACDC and Wham found meaning in seeking out opponents and potentially their camaraderie but Cars goal has always been the stone and I question what meaning he can find being what seems to be unstoppable. Is there something else in mind now that he’s reached supposed perfection? Anyways, it ends with Joseph doing his secret technique, “getting the fuck out of here”! I laughed super hard, especially at Smokey predicting it and Stroheim looking a little disappointed in him. But, despite saying he’d think of a plan while running, he’s onto something. We heard the stone they want cannot be destroyed because it will be used to destroy them, or something like that. It’s why I wanted Joseph to channel ripple into it and blast Cars as they fell together. Joseph is on to that to some degree and yoinked it before running. I question how it, multiplying sun energy from my understanding, can harm Cars but it won’t hurt to try. |
