| WHY???? Why the fuck did they have to have that BS joke scene after the Hawk fight? That completely ruined all seriousness of the situation, and made it into a complete fucking joke. Not only was it a fucking retarded time to insert something like that, but it completely goes against all the parallels set up between Takamura and Hawk beforehand. What made that fight so good was the distinction between the two. How Takamura could have become like Hawk had the chief not found him, and how his love and passion for boxing and his friends was what set him apart from Hawk's rabid and maniacal nature. Also, seeing the comic relief mentor so fucking dead serious, as well as showing genuine emotion with the coach was such amazing character development. Having him say that bullshit and treating it as a joke just destroys his character and makes him no better than Hawk, as well as making him look like a complete retard. Horrible, horrible scene that should never have existed. I wouldn't have even minded going back to the shonen gags, but just leave it for when they get back to the gym and don't destroy Takamura's character. That aside, this was still the best fight in the series, and the Itagaki humor at the end was spot on. It feels weird that there's another episode after this though, since Takamura Vs Hawk had such a finality to it. |

| Takamura's acceptance speech being so disgraceful that the audience slightly prefered Hawk's previous statements was absolutely hilarious. He gave one of the best fights in a very long time to throw it all away like this lmao With how big of a focus the latter half of the episode had on Itadaki's family and Takamura's statue, it looks like they're going to wrap this season up since it's pretty much done~ |

| the episode started out fine, but went pretty badly to some comedy breaks. it was good comedy, but it almost was like itagaki's match was introduction to his family rather than being important character. the comedy killed me, literally lol. but the pace just went wrong here. let's see how this series gonna end. and start 'rise' before sleeping lol |
