The lore is giving me Shinsekai Yori or Bye Bye Earth from the better past civilization.Could even be as advanced as the latter creeping into sci fi territory.

Very interested in knowing more on how they disappeared or seems like made to since Zavthier seems to know and how the dark beasts existed before then.
@Builder45 I was just thinking that! The ‘twist’ at the end reminded me of shinsekai yori but not quite to that level. That’s one of my favorite anime (#2ish).

An episode full of information, with epic battles as well.
It was revealed why King Hydran could still live even after his neck was severed, and why he intended to throw his own grandson into that furnace.
It turns out the furnace was the one controlling him, and this has happened to every king or heir of Hyden throughout generations, whose names were already engraved on the furnace.
The creation of the 13 heroes assigned to defeat the Demon King of Magic also seems to be the will of that furnace. There was also a surprise: the true form of the furnace turned out to be a kind of magic book called the Tor Book. It seems to be a relic from a thousand years ago, from a superior human race that could control magic without red stones.

Here, it has been confirmed that Dorel carries within his body the blood of the Northern Demon King of Magic, Vaudin.

It seems that the other Demon Kings of Magic also know about the true form of the furnace, and the truth from a thousand years ago.

What really makes me curious is about the superior human race who could control magic a thousand years ago. Why did they disappear? And what exactly happened after that?

Ngl, I didn't quite understand everything that happened but reading some of the comments here helped. On that note even if Klen now feels indifferent as to what he's done so far maybe Drel will get his attention since I think Drel might attack him. Speaking of Drel, my guess is that he's going after the book to destroy it since he wants all traces of the hero legend destroyed.

The legend of the heroes is nonsense, a complete sham. Clevatess' entire journey with Luna was pointless, even his desire to wipe out the hominids. Alicia's heroic quest and the death of the heroes who pursued the Magic Kings was also nonsense. Because it was all based on that book, written by the real hominids. What happened to them? What led to their extinction?

Clevatess even doubted his own existence when he said he was born of chaos, just like this world. But who originally said that phrase? And apparently, there were other Magic Kings. He thought Clevatess and the other three were unique beings, not successors. In the end, Clevatess realized how ridiculous it all was. He did it out of boredom, perhaps seeking a real challenge, but he ended up abandoning everything, including his desire to destroy the hominids, after discovering the truth. All that chaos... for a damn book. But please, Klen, don't leave Luna alone.

And if Dorrel, or rather Vordin, gets hold of the book, wouldn't that be a problem for Clevatess? Maybe the King of the North wants to become the sole ruler of the world. But hey, maybe that book doesn't even contain anything important. It could just be Vordin's curiosity about a legend of beings that no one has ever seen.
@Narizor I was thinking about what happened to these ancient humans. I was thinking what happened to Clevatess's predecessor. Like if these ancient humans eliminated just one dark beast they could have left? Then after they left a new dark beast lord arose in the form of Clevatess. We know the continent is much larger so could they have fled what basically is a prison?

I just realized something from the ending sequence not only was the ending one book there is multiple! Top left corner in the ending sequence here:

-Edit-
Also you can see an extra corner protector on the bottom left the the desk, plus an ink well and quill pen. Seems like that desk is where the book was made.

So all of what happened is because it is written in the book and the book decides what will happen in this world, how people will think and what they will do to make what is written happen? I'm curious about the true human race, but it happened before Clevatess became a king. Also now what we were seeing in the ED is actually this book.

OK, That episode felt a bit like drinking a glass of water. After taking dry ass episodes for weeks now (3 of them).

Im ngl, this episode might lead me to think that Clevatess is a monster or inhuman. But he IS. That is why this WHOLE SHOW hangs on. Does this monster understand the humans way yet? does his interest in humanoids get him to see the positives of humanoids? But after this episode, does this mean Clevatess has lost A COMPLETE interest in them due to the fact that he's whole goal was unraveled by something older than him? (or a bit older) "Thinking back, I have never seen the 'the true humans' Does this mean they disappeared before I took the throne?"

Also, what happens to the two ladies? one them literally depends on his ore (or core) to survive, does this mean she just dies along her comrades after surviving her purpose? regardless, Clevatess seems to have made up his mind and is just wanting to go home. I dont understand the idea of this tho. I will revisit it and try again. Hopefully with better insight. But as of right now, with fresh "blank", witness in mind it kinda feels disappointing? I dont know how to put it.

Animation was GREAT tho. but the story feels very conclusive? almost? again. Revisiting this later.

Another wonderful episode. It had very imptessive-looking sakuga sequences (Alicia and Rhode vs. Dorel) and, well, a lore-drop moment that was also a plot-twist.

Alicia is based as always.

Clevatess really went "Nice plot you have there, unfortunately for you I dont care." Convoluted edgelord speech.

Really curious where this goes, this whole thing gives me Claymore vibes and thats definitely a good thing.

Cant say I liked the animation for the combat much but still a good episode.

I swear if this ends with Aliens again I will lose my mind. (Or rather true humans left earth.)

I love this anime, but I fear I am too stupid to understand what the hell is going on at some points.
Especially that ending...I have no idea what Klen was yapping about but It felt important and kinda like self realisation :/

You know what I get it, Clevatess I'd go back to my mountain too. Glad he gently put Luna down. I really wonder if the story will actually have Clevatess go back to his mountain and the story continue with him at his mountain for a while? I think it would be unlikely but cool depending on how it goes.

Clevatess witnessing the former King of Hiden throwing Luna thrown into the furnace of the King's Forge, whose true name is Toth, Hidelius the VI, his family legacy being one who opposes the legacy of the hero in Edthea, it's such a wild theory that even Alicia and Princess T'ala admits that the history of the 13 Heroes were not what was surmised, but if there's any chance to correct history, they must be the ones who carve out this new path. And since even the former King himself is faulted to a degree, never once did Klen actually decide something that's off of his current trajectory, more than Drel coming to the forge, and Commander Royes being taken by Gart straight to the same place as well, with his Regalia.

Drel's rematch against Alicia and Royes is an exercise in frustration to show more of his overwhelming power, more than his dark ichor body and sword having taken hold of his humanity to dispel the legend of the hero. On Klen's end, knowing that Luna and the headless king's sacrifices formed the Master of Forges' book that even the youngest of the Lord of Dark Beasts can decipher, destroying humanity was his calling, even then and now, but Zavthier's interpretation which gave rise to the Book of Toah, just crushed all that ambition.

Now the book shown in the ED finally makes a lot of sense, and the lore has just expanded significantly. I'm not ready for the finale to come next week...
@KANLen09 I, too , had that moment when everything came into frame and it was amazing! The book, the grandchild's name, the title of the next episode, especially Drel's monologuing not once but twice (1st at the bridge when he tells Alicia about his and her father's relationship, 2nd his reveal about true humanity) is just a masterclass in that nostalgic 80s-90s storytelling. Who doesn't love a good monologuing, especially one that builds context in the events of the world, lol? It feels ripped from a cinematic cutscene from Disc 1 of some PS1 era game. I am loving this season of anime and this show truly feels like that cherry on top of the experience.

While I must admit at the beginning of the episode, having just finished ep 10, I kind of expected an unknown 5th Dark Lord to be the heart of the forge (just based off of previous anime, manga, and especially RPGs). I am much more interested in what they are doing with this angle

The amount of details we were missing to piece the story together has finally come to light. There was even enough material to create the series much earlier, and what we’re experiencing right now could almost be considered a second season, so to speak.

@_Hephaestus_ Sharing similar sentiments too. In fact, I have been watching a YTer's reaction to this, and his comments are exactly like yours: a series that came out during the unfortunate times of COVID, yet it feels as grounded as any old school series that it's TOTALLY worth the watch.

However, this season is a killer in both quantity and quality, so, glad that you picked this one up. I had to catch up to this too, and I think whether if this watch was done either on a binge or weekly, the anticipation is ever more hyped the same.

Finally, the truth has been revealed. It's quite crazy for someone to kill their own family to death and be resurrected again by something unknown...

Os Verdadeiros Humanos foram extintos..... Seria o presente dessa serie algo como o nosso futuro? (do mundo real?)

Como um único livro pode mudar toda a cronologia do mundo onde eles vivem?

Acho que vamos ficar sem respostas antes do fim da 1° temporada

I wanted to be impressed by something in this title, but when the writer makes a character explain their entire line of reasoning out loud to themselves for a whole minute, there’s no way that can work. They still don’t understand that the script is a fundamental part of any work. They just write for the sake of writing and throw in some cheap elements to appeal to the masses who accept it easily because of its origin. It’s a generic work model with no polish or effort put into it, simply terrible
