What is your solution to the Rudy's dilemma?
| When Mushoku Tensei II Part II finished airing I discussed the dilemma its protagonist faced with some of my friends and we agreed, for the most part, that it was the optimal solution in the context of the story and the characters involved, however when we talked about how we'd act in his shoes ours conclusions were somewhat different. Today I thought to myself that it could be interesting to read what other AD users might want to say about it. You can look at this dilemma from two angles. Angle A: you are Rudeus, the girls are Sylphiette and Roxy; how would you act? Angle B: You are you, the girls are whoever you want them to be - your favorite characters from other series or maybe even your flesh and bone crushes if you're into that sort of thing. If you go with the B angle, it would be cool if you specified who you have in mind. |

| The ideal strat from a evolutionary standpoint is being a genkis khan and spread the seed. I do typically prefer monogamy if romance is the focus, but Mushoku is not exactly a romance by any means. |

| From Rudy's standpoint he made the right decision. Both saved him in different ways. So rejecting Roxy wouldnt be fair. Now as he said his decision completely depends upon Sylphy. If she rejected Roxy I don't think he could have any complaints. If I am I in same situation I would have stay loyal to Sylphy. Because you don't need anyone except her. She is the most perfect. Even if Roxy made her moves, I would still have to reject her regretfully. -This kinda makes me scum. And Rudy's decision more correct one. Because if anyone has to get the blame it's Roxy not Rudy. She knew about his marriage. And still choose to do it. I doubt many people would be able to control themself being at Rudy's situation there. (He was shut in(again) for days without eating). Polygamy is very difficult thing to pull off in a non comedic way. And imo they pulled it off quite well. Let's see how Eris is handled. |

| You can't just ignore the context and go "Oh, imagine it's other characters". Polygamy is widely accepted in that world, it just isn't a thing for the Millis faith in particular. And it makes extra-sense in any society that abides by the philosophy of "If a man is doing his duties to his family (Providing their economic, psychological and physical needs), then he is acting morally". |
| I think the situation is similar to 100 Girlfirnds and Rudy just wants to make everyone happy without sidelining anyone. In normal world this relationship wouldn't last, but with the benefit of it being fiction it can. I personally don't like polygamy and that's the only thing that prevented me from enjoying 100 Girlfriends so much. Anyway, Sylphy was the first one, so I guess I would go with her. |

| No brainer. Stay with Sylphy, be grateful & respect Roxy for the role she played in your life, but no to a waifu/concubine/mistress relationship. When Eris enters the equation, things get more complicated. |

| @Shizuna I feel like all real life examples I can think of, if a man is cheating on his wife with another girl, and people are encouraging him to leave his wife for the other girl, they likely see it as he no longer loves his wife, which is why he is cheating in the first place, and so he should not force himself to stay in an unhappy relationship, and instead go be with the person he is happy with. I can't imagine anyone who has seen this show, could come to the conclusion that Rudy no longer loves or is happy with Slyphy, so I can't see anyone come to the conclusion that he should abandon her and their soon to be child, just because he had a one-night stand with his childhood crush. Even if he has genuine feeling for her. Replace the names with descriptions instead C .Stay with (a person he loves), leave (a person he loves, committed himself to in marriage, and has a child with) Can you see many people picking that option over A or B? If the question was just "if Rudy could only pick one, who would it be?" Then I can see Roxy stans arguing for him to leave Sylphy for her, but within the context of "the dilemma" I can't see many people justifying leaving Sylphy in this situation. |
| Norn was right Rudeus is a cheating loser who didn't realize what he had...although Roxy is pretty fine...Sylphy should have been more pissed and betrayed...but like father like isekaied son...and if Sylphy wants to share her cheating husband then I guess that's on her. |
