When you watch hentai, do you watch the whole episode, or do you usually skip the buildup?

Back when I did watch hentai anime, yes, but nowadays I'm effectively manga only. And for that matter, I do finish pretty much any hentai manga I read.

I normally watch the entire episode if it's ntr or another based tag because it makes the sexual pleasure I gain is so much better knowing the story of said guy getting cucked by a ugly bastard (which is the best hentai ofc).
I've looked to make a real anime waifu,
Too spin my world around like a typhoon,
Why do people keep calling me a raccoon,
Maybe because I keep stealing anime girls hearts like gru steals the moon.

If I haven't seen it, yeah, if I have seen it I just skip to the good parts.

I fastforward to the good parts, but I do sometimes love a good setup.

Why would you watch hentai?
All the good stuff is in doujin, and most of then don't get adapted, as well as having way more fetishes and niche stuff.

Recently I saw a "disturbing hentai iceberg video", and the guy's comments were 100% ass, but one of then caught my attention and I went to see some scenes (The adaptation had subs, but the original was untranslated), it was a so-called "MILF hentai" were the so-called MILFs were younger than me, they were in their early 20's.

Sometimes. But only if there is a story, something more common in older Hentai like Overfiend & stuff from that era.

of course, otherwise I wouldn't feel justified adding it to my list.

This only describes a subset of hentai, which first of all is just a tag attached to shows which contain imagery of penetration and genitals. While I'm not a believer in the simplicistic "hentai is art" school of thought, there definitely are hentai which focus more on plot than on the sex scenes.

One can easily ignore those scenes in e.g. A Kite (1998) (action thriller), Minerva no Kenshi (1994) (high fantasy drama), Stairs: Houkago no Album (2001) (romance and drama), or Rance: Sabaku no Guardian (1993) (comedic fantasy) and still have a decent or good show. Those are the ones I actually rate, tags are just tags. E.g. Rance is, if you think it to the end, just the adult version of Konosuba.

Then there is the type with sex so bizarre or smart that it's worth watching the full episodes despite the high share of sex scenes. Examples include Himekishi Lilia (2006) (monsters), Front Innocent: Mou Hitotsu no Lady Innocent (2005) (most realistic anatomy in anime), Bible Black (2001) (occult), or Choujin Densetsu Urotsukidouji (1987) (splatter horror). The latter is both extremely bizarre and has a unique, memorable story. Actually, I like the R+ cut better than the Rx cut in this particular case.

What's striking is that those are old shows, during the 80s and 90s the chasm between functional porn and story telling wasn't as deep and clear as it is with modern shows. For the latter, there's little use in rating them or hope for value beyond arousal and fetish. From the 2000s to today that's nearly 100% of the productions.

I skip the buildup 90% of the time, I even skip most of the sex scene anyway, cuz I'm looking for certain elements of it - not the main part XD.

Usually watch till I coom, sometimes I watch the whole thing if I'm interested in the plot. Like that anime where 2 sisters visited a gynecologist who impregnated both of them.

Talk about exposure. Neat! Thanks for putting that together.

But yeah, I watch the full episodes for the plot/emotional connection. If I just wanted to see some broad getting pounded, I'd probably just do real porn.
