Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts reaaally surprised me considering I can count one one hand the amount of Shoujo I have watched and I am not the demographic for such shows I guess.
Also my very first Anime with a real Anthropomorphic theme.

But it's just such an all around beautiful Anime and they nailed the ending perfectly.
Animation sometimes is a bit lackluster but overall still good.

Got back into the Monogatari series, I think I'm about halfway through (Season 2, ep 16). Finally watch the end of AoT, kinda redeemed the story in my eyes.

Mandatory holiday viewing of random LOTGH eps and holiday anime specials like Baka to Test or Toradora.

Happy New Year!

Series:

Usagi Drop: Gently wholesome. But doesn't forget that life is rough and tedious.

Megalobox: Just oozes style. Simple, exciting underdog tale.

Natsume Yuujinchou 4: Calming, imaginative, touching. Such a consistent series.

Movies:

Penguin Highway: kids, discovery, goodbyes

Blue Giant: jazz, that feeling of absolutely popping off

Inu-Oh: rock opera, weird

(Out of around 22 shows and 7 movies)

Looking back at my list, I will only consider shows I'm watching for the first time. I could easily fill this list with rewatched stuff, but that would be cheating, and not to mention I wouldn't be able to just look at my list with sorting the completion dates. So here goes and I'll explain why I didn't watch it before this year.

Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts (The show took awhile to get into, but once it hits its stride, it's amazing)
Sayonara, Zetsubo-sensei (Wasn't available in the US until a few years ago, and Shaft shows why they have mastered the art of their animation style here)
Kodocha (Didn't watch it when Funimation had it, but I bought the BDs from Discotek and it was funny, but also told an excellent story along with that)
Ooku: The Inner Chamber (Dropped on Netflix in June 2023 and I didn't notice the show until this year, and the story is pretty captivating)
Farming Life in Another World: (I figured it'd be just another generic fantasy, but one that has plenty of entertainment value and a story that differentiates itself well)

Natsume Yuujinchou. Even though a new season came out, I only started watching it in 2024.
