| That went south real fast. I should really read the descriptions of anime before starting them. Amazing art and solid animation but the tone was a bit confusing. I can only imagine it might have flowed better in the manga than the anime. |

| Tokiyuki is adorable and it was pretty horrible to see all of that happiness turn into despair so quickly. But, it seems like he's found his will to live. Pretty animation and amazing storyboards from CLW. Great first episode. |

| Wow such beautiful characters The sudden twist was very bloody but pretty typical for samurai anime. That Suwa guy is way too smiley. Actually the smiles and funny faces are too out of place with this. And they say the word "hero" one too many times... The ending song with this psychedelic bus is crazy. |

| Didn't expect to see heads rolling so soon, and if at all. Definitely made things interesting, but am not exactly sold on the bright colours not only in the art style but in the overall seemingly playful tone. Like everything else, will at least watch another episode or two to get a better grasp for what's in store. Also why during the "hey I could've died" scene, he kinda..... you know what, nevermind |

| That match cut with the toy ball and the skull was one of, if not the best, tonal shifts I have ever seen. Not just that cut, but everything around it. It's a perfect execution of something that's very hard to pull off well, and creative to boot. Yuuta Yamazaki's the name of the director, and I think he might be a genius. |

| Shiny pretty visuals, catchy music, fun and games. Also mass beheadings, traitors, dead children. Also comedic blasts and shounen tropes. Also more heads and corpses. Also kamakura rap. Why yes, the hero has to be an orphan AFTER FIVE MINUTES. This has gotta be the most dissonant, fast, psychedelic, based introduction to any show ever. Toriyuki is so incredibly cute he elevated my shotacon self x100 in 0.1 seconds. The fujo bait is abundant right from the start, but Yorishigay sure is creepy. |

| The animation deffo hooked me quickly. The premise is also right up my alley. MC seems interesting, I like the idea of him, I just hope the show doesn't do weird things with it. The ball cut to the head caught me off guard. I thought the anime would be more light hearted but after witnessing that I see the theme now. I can't wait to watch more. It got real gory. Ending was also pretty funky. |

| Oh makes sense why it's called the elusive samurai... really solid 1st episode, I love the artistic direction and animation so far, and the concept of a samurai who doesn't fight with physical power but can just escape perfectly and dodge everything is very original so I'm looking forward to seeing what's going to happen next and how he can revenge his clan now |

| Hmmmm... this reminded me of Fire Force with how fast everything moves. The colors and overall art are great, but the animation is choppy (at least sometimes). Also, why did the animators leave characters with blank faces when they are still so close to the "camera?" The scenes towards the end with the violent attack are crazy! Characters are okay, but I don't feel particularly drawn to any of them. The story itself is just sort of a revenge story like some basic D&D character, and I have no real hook to go off of. So far, I'm not really feeling this, but I'm willing to watch another episode at least. |
| I liked this a lot more than I expected. Tokiyuki was fun to watch running away and evading everyone, he would do well in an Assassin's Creed world with those skills. That betrayal and massacre was very disturbing to see. Now to wait and see how Suwa is going to help Tokiyuki become a war lord. |

| It's not an ordinary period. The Japanese author remembered that there are few periods in Japanese history besides the Sengoku Jidai and the Meiji Restoration. Nobunaga and Ieyasu are boring. The transitions in this anime are strange. Very strange. There's blood and wiggling. It ruins the moment. Then, the author does something like a comedy massacre. The animation is good. I hope they don't ruin it with gimmicks and stupid humor. There's something about the Hojo clan. They weren't shoguns. Their title was Shikken. I think the formal shogun was from the Minamoto family. The Hojo clan helped the shoguns and the emperor rule. Historical spoiler. |
| The animation was so vibrant but boy, the comedy parts never landed, it was like the show stopped every time to turn into its manga format and it does not work with the mostly fluid animation showcased throughtout the episode and it kind of hurts once the doom arrives into the protagonist's life. |
