Technically spin-off "Dr. Stone Reboot: Byakuya" is not canon (manga authors said so themselves) but still it's nice anime made reference to this.
Manga recommendation:
- Spy x Family (Ch.107/? - biweekly) | Sakamoto Days (Ch.191/? - weekly)
- MARRIAGETOXIN (Ch.108/? - weekly) | Machi and Oboro (Ch.16/? - biweekly)
- Make the Exorcist Fall in Love (Ch.78/? - biweekly)
- You and I Are Polar Opposites (Ch.65 - Finished)
Anime recommendation:
- Deca-Dence (Finished) | Wave, Listen to Me! (Finished)
- If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die (Finished)
- Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater (Finished)

Byakuya is 2 for 2 on slamming the feels to 10 billion miles per hour. What a man!

Overall, this is shaping up to be a solid follow-up to the saga. Not quite on par with the previous seasons, but the setup is giving me faith that it'll get there again. Admittedly, I was beginning to lose interest in the first couple of episodes. But once Why-Man made contact, I had to strap back in for this jet rocket ride. The inventions got pretty outlandish & wacky this season, but it still remained fun & centered around that driving theme of scientific inquiry & adaptation. It's also interesting to see how various gadgets are made in different ways using the same basic principles. It's a reminder that the way inventions & discoveries occurred in history aren't set in stone absolutes. That is to say, that a cell phone could have been invented before a steam engine if someone had the right knowledge & materials. Similarly, someone could skip over generations of walkie-talkie phones to produce a smartphone since that was developed through a steady process of learning & building on previous knowledge.

The only thing that's starting to bother me, however, is the constant PSA about how great science is. I get they're called the Kingdom of Science, but it starts to feel a little cultish with all of the pats on the back about how amazing science is in every single episode (although I won't deny how great it is). Admittedly it could just be that the novelty has faded as this starts to feel increasingly sci-fi.

7/10

so as i thought, this is going to end in cliffhanger.
too bad really, i really thought we gonna have much from this "part".
but oh well, i feel it did made some real progress in the plot.
finally they found the platinum to make the nitric acid.
though in the process, they might had risked a lot. i don't know how that village gonna react now that they are aware of them.

anyway, this season "part" was pretty good.
the pace was rushed, but so it was in season 2.
in season 2, however, i felt it was justified to the "war" plot. but in this one i felt it made the plot a bit less scientistic.
only toward these last episodes the pace got little better, but it made little bad impression since they didn't progressed the plot much.
still though, we learned a lot by now, specially with WHY man. and the fact that somebody are using the petrifaction beam.
seriously can't wait for the series to answer some stuff already.

admittedly, the whole concept for this show is sci-fi. and i'm not talking about the whole petrifaction area.
sci-fi isn't only when it's defy logic, the fact that the story is revolving on apocalypse world is sci-fi itself.

As funny and easy to watch this series is sometimes I facepalm so hard because of lack of logic.
Byakuya spend decades collecting gold and platinum because by his logic "humanity collected all easy to reach resources, so the second time it will be impossible". Uhm, if those resources were collected and used on surface of the planet, then even if 3700 years of harsh weather destroyed every sign of civilisation it all remained on the surface, just mixed in the soil. It would be even easier the second time.
He could have spent all this time doing something more useful, like I don't know, maybe trying to move from that island to mainland to use what remained there?

Still a good show if you don't mind those inconsistencies and just enjoy the ride.

I'm a huge doctor stone fan, I've supported the anime and the manga ever since they were announced. Call me biased as hell, but I loved this episode and this arc. (spoilers ahead for the arc) Ryusui is so amazing, and the fact that Byakuya spent such a long time trying to find platinum for Senku just warms my heart

Byakuya spent over 30 years working so hard to get as much as he could for the future generations... He and his crewmates were really true heroes of the whole humanity.

Now that the Kingdom of Science has acquired the way to make the revival fluid, everyone previously petrified on Perseus may return to join the struggle to put their hands on the petrification weapon.

I know it's just the first part of the third season, but wow. It adapted the source material in a brilliant, epic and beautiful way.

I honestly got teary-eyed watching this episode. Byakuya’s confidence that Senku will figure it out and spending decades collecting in a river, sifting for rare metals to help him out is beyond awesome and heartwarming. He went out like a champ. The second half of this arc is shaping up to be full of hype!

While watching this episode, I was literally thinking as I looked at Senku's dad growing very old; How I wish he was alive and that he would go on this journey with him. It turns out that he's not Senku's biological father and there's a huge possibility that Senku's real dad will eventually appear in this series. I don't know how that would come to be but the idea would not leave me.

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

I've got so much respect for Byakuya. Living and carrying out your work alone, especially not knowing if it'll even be useful in the end, takes guts and tremendous belief, which paid off ultimately. I feel sad for him tbh. Wish he was still around for Senku.

I'm waiting for a year to see anyone would mention the satellite that Byakuya had seen when he collapsed. That was the ISS! Without manhandling, the ISS would collapse only few years after the petrification, so how'd it still spinning there after decades?

If you read the spin-off manga Dr. Stone Reboot: Byakuya, you'd know. I mean, it's a nice nodding for a parent story to include something from the spin-off.
