Both Kanoko and Sumika were essentially in a deadlock when it concerns crossing the line between sisterhood and romance, and this is something that the later has learnt the hard way with herself and 2 former girls, which egging the Schwestern relationship at the time with the hidden romance, it only took one move to affect the entire operation of the café. Turns out, her Schwestern got bewitched by Goeido into love, and this is something that she will not accept, but has no choice because reality was shoved into her face. And thereafter, with Goeido's goading, leads Sumika down the path that romance will kill the Liebe café. And that is something that Kanoko will not relent in her romantic pursuit of Hime. The finalization of the Blume election is the results draw near, and the results threaten to derail Kanoko's plans, just like it did with Sumika prior. But instead of addressing the issue, Kanoko only went down the rabbit hole even further and remained untruthful as she is. The kitchen chef Nene overhears the commotion, and though Sumika shared to her the troubles, she being the one afflicted by the past, absolves with Sumika that she understood Kanoko's position and where she is coming from with her romance. With the election period over, who will be the Blume der Liebe to make sweeping changes in the café?

Interesting backstory. The plot thickens. I wonder what kind of conclusion we'll get. Cute end card. <3

Still very shallow overall, but I can see they're trying to make this interesting, but when there are no likable characters, it's hard to improve. It's honestly crazy how much the line gets blurred in romance in and out of the cafe. They take relationships in this cafe so seriously, that it's just comical at this point.

This was a fantastic episode glad we got some backstory as to why Sumika wants to stop Kanoko from bringing romance into the café I can't wait for the next episode

Wtf with that white hair girl attitude, pissed me off. First she was blonde sister and then throw her away like trash, and then that 3rd year senior girl who made that mess was just teasing everyone and dropped from job. And no single im sorry for the past from white hair girl, instead she got lectured. I mean i know u cant stop romance but if u were already sisters and close enough to share problems and have someone to watch over u, u cant just act like that.

Now we know what makes Kanoko and Sumika tick and why they feel the way they do. That past story with the previous two employees was really fucked up honestly. Even just on a friendship level, sumika got fucked over by someone she thought she had a close bond with. Just totally replaced with a newcomer. Think anyone would be hurt by that. I personally still fully support Sumika’s attempts to stop workplace romance even after her meeting with her old friend. I mean she didn’t even apologise once to sumika after everything that happened? She cancelled the Sisterhood thing and quit leaving them with two cast members only and betrayed her friend and she just lectures sumika? Fuck that.

I thought that the chef was the "ex-sister" of Sumika and it was confirmed. Honestly Sumika's push to get rid of work romance seems blown out of proportion as even Kanoko said she wanted to keep things the way they are. It seems Sumika is doing this more for herself than for any other reason and I don't care much for that. Beyond that, I'm thinking that Mitsuki will be the Blume winner and by extension Hime too which may bother Kanoko but we'll see how Kanoko reacts since she called Hime a jerk and I'm curious to see how that plays out.

EP 10 So yeah, kinda awkward but a bit of sumika flashback. though there's still two moer eps to go though, huhhh. kinda confusing but whatever so sumika herself used to be in a pseudo love triangle, which parallels the current also pseudo love triangle. so you have two friendsand the "3rd wheel", so sumika is worried that kanoko is going to end up ruining everything. hmmmmm. of course kanoko is kind of like, soo separately speaking, im kinda sadge that mai has basically been borderline absent this whole time. alas. not sure if there's enough material for a s2, or if i'd even want it, but glub. who knows that being said, it would be funny if (both) sumika and/or kanoko broke each other, but cough cough considering how things went, hopefully there's some kind of amicable reconcilation or whatever you call it, surely? yeah this backstory, uhm. i mean it probably has some semblance of reality to it, but maybe im the one jumping to conclusions but it feels awfully uhm, contrived sob story? its ok i guess but it's really a big slap in the face hmm. anyway. i wonder if hime will actually find out anything or if she'll be in the dark the entire time. this is what the 4th ep already? even discounting the flashbacks while sumika appears(??) to be the one who's a leetle misguided(?), to be honest, you could say kanoko herself is not doing the right thing either, since hmm. but i guess you know, communication, doing the right thing, whatever that is to be honest i do kinda feel bad about kanoko, since she's like, she really* is in (romantic) love with hime buuut she's "ok" with just being friends or something though something something mitsuki etc, she's clearly not happy about that either back to the blume dorama, something is definitely going to happen isnt it? poor kanoko, from her perspective its just hime chan hime chan, and to be honest its really hard to tell somehow i doubt they're gonna just sit down and talk everything out. glub lots of dorama. is hime finally going to realize that something is up? even moar dorama OK SO. i mean they only just told us this ep, and nene has had almost 0 screentime so far....but I wonder how many people would/could have predicted the twist. the difference in hairstyle was so big i never even considered oof. EDIT: animelist doesnt has her listed as saionji soo i'm really confused, but whatever. Ok so i was half thinking they'd drop the blume result on us at the end of the ep as a cliffhang, but seems we'll have to wait one more week. though honestly it's still anyone's to win, though presumably omst likely it'll come down to either mitsuki or sumika, with maybe a small chance for kanoko although not likely. hime probably shouldnt win but its not a zero chance either. Two more eps to go, so I guess some dorama next ep and then they'll wrap it up. Its not like, a total trainwreck cringefest or anything, "some" dorama, but its kinda well weird you know

That was painful to watch (in a good way)! Even though I can't support Kanoko with how obsessed she is with Hime, I still feel sorry for her. For Sumika too. She just wants to do what's right, but might've ruined everything herself now, because she didn't approach Kanoko correctly... And I had no idea Saonji was Nene until the end. Now, I wonder if there will be a plot twist for the Blume election next week. But I don't see Hime or Kanoko making a comeback here. My money is on Mitsuki.

Kanoko isn't wrong, if what Sumika only really wants is to stop love then she shouldn't be looking at Kanoko and Hime.

This took an interesting direction, so Kanoko has chosen to not do anything but Sumika still wants to stop her anyway, and it was revealed that Kanoko doesn’t actually want romance with Hime and just wants things to stay as they are, which I definitely get and is something I’ve seen in other shows, like a fear of actual romance changing things. And Hime sussing out Kanoko which caused her to cry was upsetting to see but it also further shows that Kanoko doesn’t want anything to change between her and Hime. And there was another interesting reveal, being Sumika’s reasoning for wanting romance out of the cafe and the fact that Nene is actually the Saionji she knew in the past, and this was something I noticed near the end when Nene first sat down with Sumika so I’m glad I caught it before the actual reveal lol, so I really liked that. She ended up giving Sumika good advice too, because let’s face it, Sumika was pushing things a bit too hard but now that she’s taken Nene’s advice I’m really looking forward to what she ends up doing, and once again I have an idea of what it might be lol. And at this point I think Kanoko needs to branch out, because her attachment to Hime is hurting her more than it’s doing her good now, I just want what’s best for our blue waifu lol.

How is Kanoko still working there, when she continues to be garbage at her job? Terrible in these Liebe academy scenario roleplays, hardly able to speak to customers, always some sort of conflict or tense moment between her and her coworkers, even on the job, in front of everyone, etc. Her annoying yandere ass should be straight out the door.

wow I'm now realizing this show/season won't even have the chance to touch the arc of the relationship between Hime and Yano.... how in hell did the producers think adapting such shallow "prologue" plot with a sprinkle of the Nene/goeido and sumika/hanoko side stories mixed with "comedy" would be the best way to present this drama to anime watchers? either there's an already approved but not announced 2nd cour/season or this will be a very bad and well deserved low scored adaptation. which really pains me cause I love the manga plot and drama. So first Citrus and now Watashi no Yuri for passione strike outs at Yuris. At least citrus became some sort of "cult anime" despite its shortcomings yet with a decent arc adaptation. sadly this doesn't seem wll be the case for Watashi no Yuri :(.

this show is so bad it's good. the characters keep saying the same things over and over again, it treats its viewer like an absolute idiot to the point it's almost offensive. it's tryng so hard to biuld any drama and/or suspense every episode for no reason at all. sumika is the stupidest of these gals tho, the fact that somebody might put their romatnic relations over workplace ones seems to be to hard for her to grasp. why would kanako even care if there's good atmoshpere in the cafe? she is basically forced to be here

| At this point Sumika is the only girl I don't really relate at all with her motives unless there is something deeper to it. Why did she even care about her fictional relationship with "Saionji" so much to begin with? It's not like it messes up any story they were making since they never had a real plan beyond mimicking a setting from a book to begin with. Did she just want attention from customers or was she actually into Nene for real and never realized it even now? She did say she tried to warn her about bringing romance on the job but why did she not just tell her that "Goeida" was playing with her just for show to customers? Did she not realize that the relationship was real so she let it slide? She has the worst possible motive of anyone here (aside from Goeida) with her meddling in other people's personal lives over a job. Now because of her Kanoko looks like she's heading toward a scenario she may attempt killing herself. At least she was able to see error of her ways when it was pointed out to her how stupid she's been so I can't hold it too much against her if she changes. Bisalissy said: I feel basically same way about Kanoko. I feel sorry for Kanoko but I can't ship with her with Hime from how she still has some issues of being controlling. I understand she is the way she is in so much a way it seems perfectly natural the way she acts. Goeida left because she never really cared about that as a job in a serious way it was just something fun for her to do so she would have left without the fling just the same. A cast of three isnt much better than two they always need at least four at a minimum and that wasnt going to happen at that time. Sumika has unrealistic expectations of others to treat a low wage job as if it's all they have in their life. | I was watching the flashback part and thought to myself "isn't this Saionji girl the same girl who works in the kitchen?" and then it says that she couldn't continue to work at the salon so I thought no way. But then she actually is and I had to pause and rub my head a couple times. Huh? Anyway, are all the employees in this salon high school students or what? Is there any adults but Mai here??? Kanoko isn't planning to do anything, but her actions are contradicting her statement. She tries to mess with the salon's theme by erasing the schwestern system with Sumika as the blume. When that fails, in a roundabout way, she tries to not let Hime become the blume schwestern. It doesn't matter what you think of Sumika, but she's in the right about prohibiting romantic feelings in work environment. It's very hard to be fair and objective when push comes to shove, just like with Goeido's case. While Saionji still works at the salon as a cook, ultimately everything that has been built up for the customers are burned to the ground, impossible to fix. Hime has Yano now and Kanoko knows this. She starts to feel she might not be needed by Hime sooner or later that's why Kanoko sticks to her more than ever. Even Hime must be a bit tired with Kanoko, right? Kanoko may want Hime as her only friend, but that's the worst possible outcome for Hime. What Hime wants for Kanoko is for her to get rid of her shyness and socialize with a lot of people and make more friends; friends that aren't Hime. I'm gonna be so mad that the finale to this anime is about Kanoko's arc and then she ends up being Sumika's schwestern. God I hope not. |

traed said: She clearly has the most logical motive here. Bringing romance into workplace is hardly a good thing. It's also why "real" companies (at least most which I know) ban husband-wife in the same office and/or department. It's where the "keep our love at the office a secret" theme comes from. The salon has a theme of schwestern, of course when legit romantic feelings enter the equation a lot of things can go wrong. Wanting that to not happen is always in the salon's best interest. Because they are employees. They get paid so they better do the job properly. Kanoko is in the wrong. She neglects work, interferes with the salon operation by sulking and glaring at Sumika while still on clock. |

Like maybe she was too scared to realize she is into Nene or failed in relationships and wants to sabotage others or she is just trying to live in an escapist fantasy and expects everyone else to play along. She's selfish while claiming to be considerate. She neglects other people's feelings for her own. Also we don't actually know the actual setup of the ownership. It's kind of implied Mai is the owner but if she did this with Sumika then Sumika also could be the owner but it might not even be like that for all we know it could be a workers co-operative or an employee stock owned situation and Mai is just directing the direction of the theme. If it's so bad they never should have been bringing in people that know eachother at all to begin with. traed said: She clearly has the most logical motive here. They kept Hime even though Mitsuki recognized her. They have Nene working in the kitchen even though Sumika seems she might have feelings for her. So if Mai is the employer only Mai is to blame and Sumika is too if she shares that role. Like I brought up before Goeida (apparently her actual name is Youko) still disrupted things by abruptly leaving which would have happened anyway without any romance. They brought in Hime even though Mitsuki had a grudge against her and romance wasnt needed for that to be a thing. They have Nene working in the kitchen even though Sumika was mad at her for leaving before and romance wasnt needed for her to feel that way. Then there is the whole fact Mai blackmailed Hime to join. How is romantic feelings somehow worse than making someone work against their original will? That's practically slavery. You cant control how people feel, that's completely unreasonable, but you can not-blackmail people. They would just get rid of Kanoko if she were that much a problem. How is she neglecting work? Remember the whole point of this place is it's a theme café. Kanoko fills a role of a shy jealous character. Also she has been working with taking orders fine so she also fills the role of a normal waitress too so she isn't exactly interfering because everything she does just becomes part of the show all the same. She is trying to interfere with the theme by wanting to abolish the Swestern but that's what you get for expecting a bunch of random high schoolers to do top tier on the fly acting and improv story telling. They HAVE to rely on actual relationships to tell a story because they arent hiring actors or writers. Again everything comes back to Mai being a sleazy profiteer and bad business runner. |

traed said: Not Mai or Sumika are aware of Hime and Yano's past because they don't talk about it with anyone. I'm pretty sure Kanoko is the only one that knows, then again, through Hime's point of view. About Kanoko's employment, yeah, I think that's a miss on Mai's part. She was the one that said it would be a problem if someone who knows Hime were to join because they become aware that she's working there. But it's different with Nene and Goeida. They were, as far as I know, not related in any way prior to working at the salon. Nene falls in love with Goeida all the while she is already in a schwestern relationship with Sumika, and that proves to be affecting her work performance. Sumika just doesn't want this to happen again, and does what she thinks is necessary to prevent the same incident from happening the second time. Sumika is not selfish, Nene is selfish. After Sumika had told her not to get too attached to Goeida, she still did. Look at the outcome. It doesn't matter what Nene thinks love is about for herself. Her decision ended up almost breaking the salon. And only now does she confront Sumika about it and try to act as a good friend? Talk about being selfish. And it's not like Nene now in the kitchen generates any problem for the salon anyway, so I don't see why she can't stay. Unlike a certain yandere girl. Kanoko is basically hindering the whole salon with her attitude, constantly making tense atmosphere around other co-workers. Sumika covers for her mistake, only to be unappreciated by the very person Sumika was doing it for. She keeps the sour attitude up and acts hostile toward Sumika, not wanting to process anything. Obviously Sumika can just report this to Mai and let her make a stern decision either for her to leave on her own accord or ban her entirely from the salon. But I think Sumika not doing that comes from a place of kindness. She's withholding information as long as she can for the time being because she cares about Kanoko just as she does about the salon. And I don't see Mai recruiting Hime as something very serious. To me it feels like a joke to start the story. |

I was looking at the character list while watching this episode. I was noticing a character missing from this episode. And yet...I STILL DIDN'T SEE THE TWIST AT THE END!??! Also I am so surprised how deep and complex this show has turned out to be.

I don't think it's specifically confirmed but it's a fair guess Sumika is either 17 or 18. She's definitely the oldest of the characters that are still in school. The arc after the Blume election takes place in July so unless Sumika's birthday is very early in the school year (before Hime started work) she's probably still 17. Mai's age is never specified. Every time someone brings it up she cuts them off. The closest we get is that a character confirms she's older than Nene. Personally I think she's late 20's, maybe early 30's. Obviously her appearance is completely detached from her age. |

Holy shit, with all of the back story they suddenly dump here. Firstly, we got the backstory with gal senpai, which reveals that the cooker actually the senpai previous sister whose got a lover incident with some ara-ara quick wanderer? Lmao what the fuck i don't see that coming honestly, but deep inside i actually feel relief she's not quitting the job fully after she gets dumped by those poisonous snaker passer-by whose suddenly love her like that 💀 I am actually surprise too by reading the comment above about their age, glasses-gal-senpai was younger than the white-hair girl? Wtf 💀 All in all, i can see how Sumika might've given up to interfere the dynamic relationship within Kanoko-Hime-Yano, instead to support Kanoko cause i can see her to do that judging by the end suggest there. Let it flow, and be wish its not really so mess up. Maybe Kanoko can melt her heart a little and let things go after Sumika readily also opened up to her as well as the new sisterhood relationship? Idk with the plot decision its ended, so yeah, let's see next....

Wow this anime is like a rollercoaster The last episode was horribly bad and this was brilliant We finally have lesbian kissing,,,YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES Also. A lot of people calling my lesbian angel Kanoko for crazy, But IMO the one who is acting crazy is rather Sumika. She has extreme control issues and seems to believe she can control other people's feelings. And decide they cant romance. Who the fuck do you think you are! It's not your business stop putting your danm nose where it doesn't belong! And now she does the same thing to Kanoko. I'm glad my princess is speaking back. She has every right to fight for the girl she loves Gotou didn't thread Saionji very nicely. But she doesn't have any obligations to her. If you chose to play around with love the chance it will bite you in the ass is enormous. That's life and it happens to most of us. And it's important we are allowed to make our own mistakes in life that is how we learn. My Saionji is clearly aware of this and I'm glad she told Sumika. Because the only one who destroyed their sister's relationship was her because of her control issues. And she has NO right to try to control other people's romance. Also, she is wrong. She said that the relationship is not romantic. But "Schwestern in liebe" means sisters in LOVE in German And from now on my little lesbian diamond, Kanoko will get more attention and love from me. Because she is not crazy at all. She is in love! And she has every right to pursue it. I will cheer like crazy for you honey❤❤❤ You keep on fighting sweetheart ❤❤❤ Anime! I don't know what your fucking problem is. One second you crash and burn, And then you do this. I love this episode one of the best I have seen in a long time. So you are out of the doghouse,,,, For now!

I'm still in the Tachibana corner. She may be trying too hard to steer Kanoko, but when Yano and Hime are playing it up to the customers about the Blume voting and you have someone brooding in the background it's going to be noticed.

About time someone spoke to Tachibana about her 'stopping romance,' Rene ftw! Also, clever character development to have Rene appear to be a background character, but then to have had a dramatic arc that influenced, albeit badly, the main cast

The backstory of the "incident" and why Sumika is so obsessed with avoiding love at all costs in the cafe. She wants to protect the business and the girls, looks like the older sister attitude wasn't just roleplay. Nene is the same Saionji, how I just realized that and poor girl, the other girl just played with her but unlike Sumika she isn't resentful about it because that's how life is, sometimes you win other times you lose. Is interesting how the most affected by all of this is just Sumika. She also has been "fighting the wrong enemy", as Kanojo said she isn't who could bring trouble there, not her but Yano and Sumika has never thought about it. Kanojo's love for Hime is platonic and not romantic as I thought, she doesn't want to change anything, she just wants to keep the status quo, her love has been always like this and it will always be. Very interesting episode, Sumika being so affected by all of this makes me wonder if she had similar experiences because I don't think it's just because of what happened in Saionji's case, this looks more deep. I also wasn't expecting Rene to be this relevant, maybe even Mai will be this important?
