| Lots was happening in this episode but felt very well paced. These kids got away with the first weird looking monster of the series, let's see how long they keep going. Man the more I watch the more I appreciate the art style and facial expression of the characters, they feel very charismatic |

| I really love the opening it just hits differently the atmosphere it creates with the music combined with some insane and fast-moving visuals combined with some slow visuals impressed me. the innkeeper death i saw coming from a mile away little sad but saw it coming especially because she decided it was a good idea to step right in front of the monster look! its fine :D |

I was hoping they would travel around Japan at least... then again the art is like painted not realistics so nothing lost.. now I wonder how will Tokyo be made? that part with the Inn owner was very cliche, see that in multiple low grade horrors... so far the mystery part of plot is strongest.. but I don't get why this anime got 8.23 |

| Since the beginning, I was thinking there is just one Maru (or more exactly that Tokio is Maru few years before and that Heaven's story told in parallel is actually flashback). But now it seems there are two of them? Getting strong Island movie vibes here. The confession was actually unexpected but now that I think about it, we should see it coming ever since she said he means nothing more than money for her. Kiruko's body is obviously woman but some accident happened five years in the past during those races and if Takehaya Kiriko from picture is no longer around and her brother was supposedly killed, what if our Kiriko is somehow her brother? (yeah, makes no sense right now but I hope the next episode sheds some light on this mystery). Actually, one more thing - falling from the height of that high, he should be dead. I mean, the guy who tried climbing the pillar. Are they even humans? Feels more like terminators for me, with human brain maybe. One way to battle the plague I guess? |

| The school scenes are Kiruko's memories and do not occur in parallel with the pair's journey. At first it seemed the innkeeper drugged her guests so she could fend off the man-eater by herself, but as soon as Kiruko and Maru show themselves to be capable, she gets in their way. Was she grieving so much that she believed the man eater was her son or did the man eater that absorb her son reach such a level of sapience to deceive her? Kiruko's theory that she drugs her guests to feed them to her "son" is kinda tragically believable. Reaching the tomato heaven; Maru shares a secret that there is a guy that looks like him...a clone perhaps? Were the children in the flashback subject to genetic experimentation? The way that guy fell from so high up and didn't get injured makes me think they are tougher more than the average human. Both Maru and the man at the farm mention something 5 years ago with the latter elaborating that it was when the brother of electro kart driver Kiriko Takehaya died. Kiriko is the spitting image of Kiruko bar hair color. Mimihime in the flashback looks like Kiruko too, and the apparent gadgeteer Shiro (original builder of the Kiruko beam?) got sent a nude of her and had a nosebleed when hugged by her. Kiruko, Kiriko and Mimihime are clones or sisters? On the ship back to Tokyo, Maru confesses to his crush Kiruko (hinted when he was disappointed that Kiruko stated to the innkeeper that they weren't dating), but Kiruko drops an even greater truthbomb; he's a man in a woman's body (so is this the result of the "accident" with Kiriko's brother?) |

| Injecting someone with the same face as him, then seeing there's someone out there with a face like hers too. So cloning maybe? Also what was up with the guy falling from that high and being fine like nothing happened. We get to hear the Tomato Heaven's story too, seems like the world's been like this for a long while now according to them. Then the final reveal of Kiruko which explains the bathroom scene last episode. |
