| We start Shenmue II right, as Ryo descends into Hong Kong. Ryo is definitely caught off-guard when a mysterious girl (Joy) tells him to be aware of his surroundings, and much so that he got robbed right away by some pickpockets (Wong and his minions Sam, Larry and Cool Z). Thank God that the Phoenix Mirror is within his grasp, but he has to get his bag back somehow. Again, Ryo meets the another mysterious Tai Chi old man Jiamin, and this time he gets directions to the famous Yan Tin Apartments to meet up with Master Tao Li Shao with Master Chen's recommendation. But the master isn't around, and the next place to go is the Man Mo Temple, which there's no progress either. The next hint: Ryo has to master the Iron Palm from Jiamin to get further, and this time Joy gives him a much-needed break for lodging at the Come Over Guest House in Room 203. The chase of Ryo and Wong is a significant starter QTE event in Shenmue II, and I'm glad they did it justice to settle the stolen bag issue quick, as well did Ryo mastering one of the 4 Wude "Gon". Master all 4 and he'd be able to meet Master Tao (but of course, due to time constraints the anime had to cut all that). The meeting between Ryo and Master Hong Xiuying, she's the venerable Tao Li Shao, and things are just beginning to shake up in Hong Kong. |

| This was a great episode, it feels like they can take their time more with the story of Shenmue 2. Quite a few characters were introduced, and some sort of dark past was hinted at for Joy, that will be interesting if revealed. |

| this was a good episode but the cgi humans crowds, cars and plane at the end of the episode were kinda feeling off maybe the studio was pressed for time |
| Xiuying! I love her design. Another great episode, every time this gets better. I liked the interaction with Wong and Joy, and yes, I hope see her past. Also great work of the voice actors. Interesting how they used the ending as insert song. Can't wait for the next ones, this is gonna be awesome! |

| I had a feeling that the woman that was praying at Man Mo Temple was Tao Li Shao as she mentioned that what Ryo was looking for was right in front of him the whole time. Joy and Tao Li Shao are super hot. |

| And with that, a whole new generation has entered the world of Shenmue II, a timeless classic and my third favorite game of all time :) I was really happy with the episode. Xiuying, Joy, and Wong are wonderfully designed and the Gon Wude scene was done beautifully. From the looks of it, we might get a bit more of a backstory for Joy and Wong than we did in the games, so fingers crossed for that. Always nice to see Shenhua in Bailu as well :D My only complaints were, of course, the CG and the fact that Hong Kong feels a bit...lifeless so far? In the game, you get that amazing intro with all the merchants and musicians at the port, you get to spend more time around the fountain, etc., while I felt like we got to see very little of it here. Sure, we've seen all the iconic locations like the Pigeon Park fountain, the Man Mo temple, and the tree in the park, but I just felt like the sense of unity between all those places was sort of lost in the show. I hope it's going to be a bit more open and natural in the next ep. Other than that, I'm strapped in and ready for more. |

| I totally expected the random old man to be Tao Lishao instead of the hot lady at the temple. Ryou grown quite a bit, with his martial arts that doesn't inflict harm, after his short arrival in Hong Kong. |
