Because we are used to it now, if you you go back and watch part 1, it will feel a lot better as well. It's great that they changed it, there are some parts in season 3 part 2 that has such bad drawing specially in armoured Titan's face that some times it looks like it was done in paint. This fixes it.

I would always prefer hand drawn titans over CGI still they are ok atleast better than part 1.

Not that bad tbh. Think there are some improvements and the AT looks more alive here, maybe it’s the expressions. But yh, still off but glad we aren’t gonna have mismatched expectations like part one.

I usually hate CGI but it looked fine, probably some of the best anime cgi I've seenx hopefully its consistently that good during the season.

I thought Porco jumping from roof to roof looked awesome but let’s wait and see. Reiner versus Eren looked… static?

S4P1 Episode 7 was fantastic all the way but the fact that the Liberio battle was fought at night helped a lot. It’s easier to make the CGI less apparent when animating it in a dark atmosphere.

Let’s see what they can do.

Nothing can replace high-quality 2D hand-drawn animation, but this really is as polished and smooth CGI as we can possibly have at this day and age, which means the AoT team of MAPPA has come quite a long way from the mostly very jarring and awful looking models we'd seen in part 1. What we see in the trailer is literally Ufotable quality 3DCG animation.

Beast titan looks neat af, and so do the movements of the Attack titan just look at that guy hopping around like he did in season 1, been a long while since I saw that. Overall yes, it was pretty good

I'm really impressed with solid it looks! My main problem with P1 was the low FPS on some titan scenes, so just the fact that they changed that improved the look by a lot. Also the titans overall look cleaner and less janky.

It's a trailer though, so I hope it will look this nice throughout the whole season.

Just my opinion, I thought the 3D CGI of the Titans in S4P1 were pretty bad, at least compared to the Titans that were animated back when AOT was animated by Studio Wit.
Though, so far at least from the look of the trailers and PV’s, it seems the 3D CGI for the Titans are going to be much smoother and higher quality in P2. Let us all hope that Studio MAPPA put their best animators at work for this second part of the final season, for the adaptation of the great story shown through the manga, Attack on Titan. 🤞

The jaw titan and the cart titan's cg models never bothered me in part 1, but the worst cg out of all the models were the attack titan and the beast titan. Eren's face looked extremely jarring in part 1. It's not just an artistic change in his facial design, it was just a horrible cg model. The beast titan seemed as if it was straight taken from a ps2 cg game. This is not hating on Mappa absolutely, I appreciate the hard work Mappa workers gave in this short period of time and the horrible pandemic circumstances.

Judging from the trailer, if the animation and the cg maintains the same quality throughout the season, I can simply say, this is the best cg I will ever see in anime. They are integrating more 2d and incredible camera work now which can make cg extremely great and visually appealing. I had to lower my expectations for the next part, but after the trailer, I am really looking forward and waiting impatiently for the next part to see Mappa's work.

Btw, whether or not you like cg, using cg especially in this season is inevitable. Just wait and you will know what I am talking about. Even wit would have animated the next part in cg even if they were given 2 or 3 years.

Interesting, while I agree S4P1 E7 looked great, I thought the nighttime didn't do justice to the 3D models as the daytime does in the trailer.

It looks amazing. The in-house team is working on the CGI on this part. So makes sense why this part might get Doroherdoro treatment. Unlike V-sign, who did a good job on the first part in the CGI department.

Tbh if anyone says it’s bad they’re lying, and if that’s too hard to swallow-watch “so i’m a spider so what” and then you’ll have bad CGI material to compare it to. It’s definitely been a reoccurring problem in anime for a majority of the times it’s used but it was genuinely awesome to look at in the new trailer.

Ok they look good but i don't like Cgi used in anime specially on characters i can handle cgi used on weapon , vehicle but not characters it's look so awful Normal animation is good like in S1, S2, S3

agree. to be fair aot season 3 (all) is poorly executed cause they didn't get enought time and resources (just like mappa)
s3 part2 animation is. just little bit pain to watch. specially eren vs reiner
