Meh, I wasn't really sold into this episode until the second half. At least Amou is alert and knows that society has its hidden secrets beneath the service.

Gashin had a gun standoff and wasn't intimidated as usual. Besides that, it feels like a slow buildup to something bigger for the current story arc/upcoming episodes.

Mysterious Onii-san from the past build some kind of a "perfect cult settlement" in the mountains and want one of our pilots, the edgy one, to join him and leave the resistance at the same time ... But (kinda expected) the settlement is not as perfect as it seems. Onii-san is a spy ... shocker.

This was legit a Sasuke and Itachi episode. I mean, sorry ... you introduce a brand new character that is all chubby, happy with one of our main characters, you bait us with a shared past, in a stroy LIKE THIS, and you expect us to NOT suspect that hes a spy at the very first glance we see him ? Again, im sorry ... either the creators play to the trope or they think people are stupid ...

Gashin coincidentally meeting his older brother Yuusei (not related by blood), that at least puts a smile on his face of memories forgotten and lost.

The city that Yuusei built for the people not affiliated with any region, and being a mayor of that autonomous city, it's clear that whatever character properties that he once had to build the city after leaving Yatagarasu, a different approach may not be that bad after all. But asking Gashin to settle down in the city and stop shooting guns, that might just be too far a stretch playing the utilitarian role.

The intel that his brother Yuusei is an Asian spy to buld that city, it'd take more for Gashin to believe that his older blood-unrelated brother will betray him. To make matters worse, the limitations of the city from the replies of the residents from mere human wants to obvious red flag signs, and you'd have the makings of a faux pas city in search of a negotiation tool.

Nowhere is safe, not even next-of-kin, and Gashin, you'd be better off without Yuusei.

Kinda of a meh episode.

A blast from the past for Gashin indeed. Still within the town looks like Yuu was pretty well liked enough to be appointed mayor. The fact that he's working to create a place that tries to co-exist with the various invaders instead of fighting them though is a interesting idea considering what we seen so far from the series. But its nice that we got to see some expansion for Gashin though. Its unfortunate that in war one who was once your best friend could the next day be your worst enemy. Overall a decent ep that provided some nice expansion for Gashin while also introducing what can be the first proper villain for the story that looks to be a complex one.

It was pretty obvious that Yuu was involved with some shady shit with the Asian government, it's common sense that none of the occupying powers would allow a full on autonomous city without strings attached, it also explains the shortages.

Also one of those AMAIMs in the episode 10 preview has a condom shaped head, wtf.

Great episode! Gashin meets his brother again and is asked to live with him but not everything went as planned and a gun standoff ended up happening. He learned his brother had been selling out the Japanese people in order to keep the autonomous city running...

Looking forward to the next episode!

Of course the Ryoji-Kaji-looking ass mofo is a double agent...

I would at least want Gashin to figure it out for himself though, this German Leonard Testarossa has to spoonfeed him as well as the audience.

From the preview, I think the next fight will be against the Eurasian military (who have their own Julieta Juris).

Novels I have read/am reading pending approval: since November 10 2022

Pretty predictable episode in which Gashin's adopted brother appears out of no where to show him this perfect autonomous city and tries to convince Gashin to live with him. However creating a so called utopia has a price as Yuu has done some shady dealings with the Asian military and he is having trouble getting supplies for the autonomous city since the Asian military is pulling all the strings in exchange for information on the location of the Japanese terrorist group. Fortunately, Gashin was able to figure out thanks to the German guy helping them, but Yuu is not giving up on keeping his dream of running a fake city alive.

The plot is focusing on Gashin it feels like it's actually now shown a little bit the way he thinks I'm looking forward to the next episode.

I haven't been a kid in a minute. But even back then, I could tell an obvious story setup. Are the kids today dumber, or are the writers of this show just disrespectful? At least the world's most obvious double agent has a more compelling reason to exist than anyone else on this show.

I give this episode extra points for keeping the plot holes to a minimum. I'm sure the plot holes will return next episode.

I can't believe the resistance let a traitor/collaborator/spy walk away alive like that. He's going to get more of their guys killed if he continues working for the enemy. Really shows it's a kids show.

Also, there was no mecha action a second time in a row. And when Gashin went into town and overheard people tlaking openly about shortage problems, it felt like listening straight to some NPCs talking in RPG.

All in all, both predictable and disappointing episode this time.

Feeling this. Still a decent show overall, but at times it feels like mature themes inserted in a kindergarden play. The first half of this episode and everything about the brother really took this into another level of dumbed down.

I am just surprised they didn't kill Yuusei off. by Gashin or not, that's how it's usually played out.

Hmm now we got a serious and dramatic episode between Tezuka and his adoptive brother who's secretly working for the Asian army as a spy, at least they managed to counter the information he got but it's sad to see Tezuka in this situation with his brother, he's not bad in the insight, but you sure have to make sacrifices to achieve that "utopia"

Pretty interesting to see how bloodless AMAIM has been thus far compared to your usual Sunrise mecha show (Gundam, Dragonar, Escaflowne, Code Geass, etc). Typically, you would have had dozens of mooks, hundreds of civilians, and quite a few side characters dead by now. But so far, the protagonists have just been fighting unmanned robots and have yet to kill a single person. No civilians have been killed whatsoever. There have only been 7 deaths in the series thus far (the two resistance members in the jeep, the 4 American helicopter pilots, and that AMAIM pilot), all killed by Ghost. Not sure if the bloodless nature of AMAIM is because we are in the early part of the adventure where the kid gloves are still on, or if this tone will carry throughout the whole show.
