| I honestly don't know. I haven't seen this word being used outside of 4chan and on that website there isn't really a difference between slurs and normal accepted words so I can't tell. |

| I thought Nippon was the formal Imperial patriotic way to refer to Japan with Nihon the modern casual. That is a bad comparison anyways in comparing cracker to a shortening of cauc for Caucasian. Like slav for Slavic. |

| Back in the 70's and early 80's that's how we referenced all Asians, not just Japanese. As far as I am aware it came from the soldiers who fought the Japanese in WW2. About as offensive as calling a black a nignog, and Indian a curry-muncher, and Aborigine a boong, a Chinese a chingchong, an Italian a wog, an Arab a sand-nigger, and a Caucasian privellaged. |

| "Nip" is an ethnic slur according to Wikipedia, although I've never seen it being used. "Jap" is definitely considered offensive by Japanese people, I'm not sure about "nip". |
