His plan sounded really silly at first but I'm impressed that he had so many countermeasures to cover for the flaws. The only problem is that the Director could've seen through the trick and went for the bottom where Kaiji's rig is. Those fingers better stay on the owner this time... unlike that ear.

Too risky, the old man doesn't seem that stupid to fall for his trick.

It was so thrilling when Kaiji tried to set up everything for his gamble withput getting caught.

Don't have a good feeling,Kaiji might screw up with this.

Kaiji forgot how sadist the old man is. It was obvious that he would do something ruthless.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

Irrespective of the quality of the episode itself, I disagree vehemently with the decision to risk another bet like this against the director, cheating at that and just hoping based on luck and a prayer not to be found out. It seems so unnecessarily risky when he could have walked away:

A) With his life

B) + 20 million yen or 13 or 14 something after minusing the debt to the "house"

C) His ear potentially being surgically reattached at the hospital

What will become of the debt relief he promised to secure for Ishida's wife and mother on his behalf? What about the fact that if he lost everything, besides being maimed further, he would be back to working a minimum wage labor job or two for decades just to pay off his debt? The last arc and last few episodes are just making Kaiji come off as a psychologically addicted degenerate gambler at heart and confirm that he now he is actively a guilty party further digging himself, consciously so, into the hole of this "gambling apocalypse". His mental and verbal justifications of it are illegitimate. This isn't revenge.

The best revenge would be to just leave with the money you've already won. Seek immediate medical treatment. Pay off your acquaintance's promised debts. Use the rest of the remaining money allocated for yourself in the wisest manner you can. Never pick up so much as a pair of dice or a lottery ticket again. Live a great fulfilling life, whatever that means to you, to spite them and their attempts to crush your spirit, and never step a foot back in that hell. Now he has sat back down in hell willingly of his own volition for an illusory "bigger score", "final payoff". It's the gambler's mirage and vice-addled brain. If you lose, can't stop now because sunk cost fallacy. If you win, then why can't you win again? So hence can't stop now because to turn down the chance of possibly winning again is akin to losing. Only losers quit when they lose and only losers quit when they win. The answer is always more gambling. So you'll play until you're destitute or dead chasing a phantom. It's sad to see Kaiji (the character) go that route.

If the old man has more money.. then this isn't really doing anything to him only pleasing him more tbh. He has gone senile so he could always just make that money back somehow.

Behold of my awesomeness~

This moron is about to lose after he got enough money to save Ishida's wife and pay off his own debts ... Please , don't make it this obvious or I will be massively disappointed in the series.

he could've gotten away with 20 million in his hands, but no he still wants revenge even though he already won against tonegawa and lived through hell himself. He's already lucky they didn't kill him after winning cause they're the yakuza after all. What a stupid gamble, just hungry for more money. He might as well die if he wants it that much.

That was the most nerve-wracking episode yet holy. So many uncertainties happening in real-time, wondering if things will go to plan or go to shiz.
