Rarely is there ever a dull moment in this show, as it's always moving to different situations and gags. The spontaneous comedic elements are brief, and they really don't get in the way of the progression of the actual story. I didn't find the fight scenes bad in this show. Maybe that's just because anything looks good after watching something horrifyingly bad like The Sacred Blacksmith? Personally me, I don't mind the fight scenes at all, and I rather am amused by the inclusion of spontaneous comedic elements in between. I agree. I rather like this show for its light and airy feel. If you go into it not taking it too seriously it can be fun to watch, an amusing diversion. I think too many people are comparing it to the manga. I haven't read the manga yet but I have noticed there is generally quite a bit of a different feel between a manga and an anime. Notable examples that come to mind are Tenjou Tenge, Boys over Flowers and even D.Gray.Man. All of which I like. Its shounen you can't exactly expect...gundam wing seriousness but its not like 4kids pokemon bad...or god forbid reign the conqueror Characters: Lucy: I have heard a lot of unfavorable comments about this character and her lack of strength for fairy tail. I think the reasons a lot of strong mages end up in this guild have nothing to do with strength. Most of them are quite ECCENTRIC and fairy tail allows them to do pretty much what they want and indulge in their eccentricities in a friendly commaraderie. I'm sure this guild has its share of less notable mages in the power department. I think Lucy, as a new member of the guild with less than stellar power level (pardon the pun) is the character the viewer is meant to grow and explore a new world with. The character who is suppose to find herself and inspire other characters. One of the things that endears a character to me is if despite flaws and weaknesses is a desire to better themselves and become stronger. I think Lucy might be a character like that. I think she might be like Nami/Ussop from One Piece, Ai from Law of Ueki, Yoshida from Shakugan no Shana. Whats special about a strong person doing hard things...real courage comes when a weak person attempts hard things. Erza: I thought her transformation was funny personally. There is a strong character with a(n) (unintentionally) wacky but serious personality doing a shoujo transformation...I can't help it but I found it amusing. In short (although its too late!): If you don't want to watch a show that was probably developed for a ten to twelve year old audience then quit writing the same complaining comments are watch a more serious show. |

| Not enjoying Lucy one bit. Hanging on for Erza, Natsu, and Gray. -Lolz at the fairy tale boss' reaction to the super team -^ and at Erza knocking some answers out of the guard fools. Poor chaps. |

| The first half of the episode was slow but then it got better. Now I understand Erza's ability because before watching Fairy Tail I was so confused when I saw pictures of her with different armors. |

| One thing I liked was the re-equipping, it totally looks cool. Being able to switch weapons so fast. The transformation was a let down, so Mahou Shoujo. It just doesn't suit Erza. LOL at Happy telling Lucy why she had to take the spotlight away from Erza when she summoned Cancer. xD |

| i actually think the mahout shoji transportation fits erza. not her fighting style, but her personality. this episode was a bit meh, but if i'm 40 episodes into bleach without really liking any of the characters i think i can give this more time. |

| i love erza's requip animation so much, also her fight was definitely fun to watch. I love the ending too, its so cute and upbeat can't wait to see the fight against erigor, it'd be interesting if some of the guild masters got involved too |
