Man this was really disappointing. Season One was one of my favorite shows ever. Everything about it was fantastic. But this season 2 the quality in pretty much every area plummets. The ending is an abomination and a cliff hanger that explains and answers literally nothing. This should have been minimum 12 episodes, 6 is not anywhere close to enough. I don't know if there was like 0 budget for this season or what because it's a night and day difference compared to season 1. Really disappointing. Hopefully there's a season 3 that returns to the quality of season 1 and answers all the questions but with how hard this bombed it's sadly not likely any time soon.

The world-building in this anime isn't as complex or well thought out as it could be, but the personal relationships, intimacy, and character shaping are satisfying. Though I do have huge problems with how much they force the themes down your throat clumsily and saying rather than showing. The amount of times the words Carnivore, Herbivore, meat, instincts are said and at the most ridiculous times is just silly and asinine. The ending was fairly lackluster. There were certain things that had no impact or importance throughout the plot like the security snake who did virtually nothing, or Lego eating Louis' leg for the fight to end so quickly with less intensity or bloodshed than the earlier battles. Even with the power up and all his training Legoshi still didn't out-skill the bear. I also would've liked to see the Panda at the end seeing as Legoshi went against all the training he did to not eat meat in the first place. My subjective opinion? I absolutely ship Lego and Louis. They just make sense. The back and forth between Lego and Haru has grown stale and didn't offer much to this season.

Truly a masterpiece

Big step down from season 1, so much so that it's practically a different show. I really wish they stuck more to what made season 1 so good.

Very cool to watch while tripping

I really enjoyed Gangsta, it breaks a few tropes and does things differently that a lot of anime are too afraid to do. It portrays elements that anime usually don't and actually portrays them in a humanizing way rather than demonizing which is incredibly refreshing. Things like drugs/drug addiction and prostitution are delicately portrayed showing that the issue isn't just black and white right and wrong, it's incredibly complex and people in those lifestyles are people too and deserve to be treated like people rather than scum. Circumstances don't define your identity. Also Gangsta doesn't hold your hand with it's worldbuilding and treat you like an idiot expositing at every turn, it chooses to show rather than tell which I really appreciate and feels like a lost art these days. It's a shame that the animation studio went bankrupt leaving us with a messy ending on a complete cliffhanger, and that the manga is in perpetual hiatus due to the author being incredibly sick with lupus and even going blind in one eye due to the complications of her condition.

The fandub is the only thing that makes this somewhat worth existing

One of the worst and most disappointing series I've ever seen, right up there with Naruto in disappointment for me. Just dreadful, and got worse every episode. Terrible writing, boring and tropey characters, Chiho being one of the most annoying characters in modern anime history plus the fact that the author inexplicably decided that the MC would choose to date her at the end. It's rare for me to have a show that while watching it I'm just dying for the episode or show to be over.

This show had a few genuinely funny moments but in general was a slog to get through and took eons for me to finish.

Man why did that final rock throwing scene make me cry. This was a powerful 18 minute show.

We need more dark and bloody anime like this. More anti-villains and moral gray areas like this show. Loved it though I know most people won't be happy with the ending.

Carried hard by John but wasn't too bad

Comfy show and decently entertaining, though a few things hold it back. The whole not killing trope is so overdone in anime I'm just sick of it and is just completely unrealistic. Every single person she deals with either completely fall under the talk no jutsu spell or just magically passes out, and never decides to come after them again other than Majima. Also the fact that these "rubber bullets" are penetrating solid steel doors and other hard to believe aspects. Speaking of Majima, his plot armor is just absolutely ludicrous and just completely immersion breaking. Not getting hit even once by a train full of trained assassins opening fire with a large amount of time not being behind any cover whatsoever. A literal RPG that also explodes a car blows up literally inches away from him and he doesn't even have a scratch on him and not even unconscious when he should be dead. Also falling from an exploding tower 100-200 stories high and surviving totally believable. Not to mention the non stop firearms firing with no hearing protection when he has echolocation sensitive ears, he should be deaf or have constant tinnitus and severe hearing loss. Also Chisato and Takina's crazy plot armor. Also LOL at Takina being touted as one of the best marksman in the world but afterwords literally misses every shot she ever takes after that for the most part was too funny. Also what is with the author making every single character that isn't at LycoReco other than Majima, Mr. Yoshi/Secretary the ugliest characters ever seen in anime. I mean I guess it's the concept of grenades hanging out with hot girls and they're there just to make Chisato and Takina look better but damn it's annoying looking at these ugly people so much. Also Fuki and her partner are annoying af I wish they died/weren't focused on so much. The pro-censorship message is pretty gross propaganda too. Overall enjoyable though, those were just my main qualms with the show and what held it back in my eyes from being better.
