Yuusha ga Shinda!

The Gates of Hell reopen, throwing the world into chaos and setting demons free to terrorize the land once again. These troubles seem irrelevant to quirky villager Touka Scott—until a demon attacks Yuna Eunice, his childhood friend. Luckily, the legendary hero Sion Blandan arrives in the nick of time to strike down the vile creature. Unfortunately, Sion soon dies after accidentally falling into a trap Touka set to defend his radish farm.

Anri Haysworth, Sion's necromancer companion, resurrects the hero by transferring Touka's soul into Sion's corpse. Now possessing the body of the legendary hero, Touka is tasked with resealing the Gates of Hell and defeating the demons that threaten peace. Together with Yuna and Anri, Touka copes with both his new reality and Sion's heroic legacy as he embarks to save the world.

In a sea full of harem/fantasy shows (that have saturated the anime community), it's hard to pick out shows that are worth watching. With so many of the same generic shows, with the same plot (i.e., MC gets reincarnated, needs to save the world, is weak but becomes super OP by episode 2-3, then has a flock of girls fall in love with him for little to no reasons) and kirito clone MCs, you might think venturing into this genre is a waste of time.

For the most part, you're right. However, Yuusha ga Shinda! is a fun, entertaining harem/fantasy show, that doesn't suck as much ... as the rest of these types of shows. It does have some element of "saving the world" but it really isn't THAT central to the plot and I feel like the show focuses more on the relationships between the main cast more so than the plot itself. I'd say if you have nothing else to watch currently, then you should give this anime a shot. Now if you are a harem/fantasy type of person, this show is right down your alley (and is much better than a majority of these harem/fantasy shows out there!)

PROS:
- MC isn't afraid of characters of the opposite sex and actually acts like a male around females (shocker!)
- MC knows what he wants and isn't afraid to ask for it
- Plot isn't overly complicated; a little basic but there still is a story to follow
- There is a harem
- Girl cast is likeable
- Animation/art are both pretty good (you don't have to worry about that)
- Comedic moments that are somewhat funny
- Show doesn't try to be overly profound/deep and doesn't try to be something its not
- no extremely annoying characters

CONS:
- There is a harem (for those who dislike harems)
- basic/simple plot (if you're looking for a complex/deep story, this show isn't the show!)
- Show falls flat at certain moments
- no real meaningful development in relationship(s)
- comedy is kinda hit or miss at times

FINAL ANALYSIS:
If you're anything like me, you just want to know if a show is terrible or not and you just want that extra confirmation before you watch it. Let's be honest here, you probably saw this show from an IG reel or some social media and thought it looked interesting or maybe you're really into harem/fantasy. If either are the case, then I definitely recommended the show (despite with the MAL score or other reviews say). It's nothing mind-blowing or revolutionary, but it is somewhat a step above all the other lack luster shows out there. Sometimes you get that harem crave/itch and just want to find a quick show with a decent plot/MC/girls/art style and there's nothing wrong with that. From time to time, I get those cravings too and I believe that this show is one of those shows that will satisfy that craving.

Mixed Feelings

Hey folks, this will be my review for Yuusha ga Shinda. Simply put it's not very good. It is however a semi funny little time waster.

I think we can skip over the paragraphs of text I usually put in and focus in on the tagged theme "Parody". I have no idea if the original creator purposefully made this shitty to parody the other shows they view as absurd, or it is just a shitty show/manga. There is a lot we can unpack and digest but it doesn't deserve that, so Ill summarize quickly. The story isn't half bad if you're just there for entertainment, ... but it also constantly stops to fill you in on the tons of information we miss off screen. This includes powers, plans, traps...etc. The art is simply muddy and not at all interesting. Whether its a fight scene or one of the numerous ecchi scenes we are treated to less than pleasant art and animation. The characters again are somewhat interesting, or they could be if anything was done with them. Touka and Yuna are the only ones with any growth at all and its pathetic. It's one of the first shows I ever thought to turn on 1.5 speed for and I think it was the right thing to do.

Pathetic is actually a great word for this show in general. Some of you may wish to analyze whether or not this show is an actual pile of crap, or if its just a convincing replica, I however don't care. I knew this show wasn't going to be a masterpiece and I simply wanted to be entertained and it did alright in that regard. If your looking for anything remotely resembling quality I wouldn't in good conscience recommend this to you, however if your self aware enough not to take yourself seriously and know that this is your kind of thing you might get a laugh or two. I'm not sure I would want to watch it again, but I would watch a season two, which they do hint at. This show is premium "It sucks, but I liked it". This was not "so bad it was good", you need to be aware of the difference. This show is bad, and for some reason I had a good time, you may not.

A Lackluster Journey with "Yuusha ga Shinda!" - A Disappointing Anime Experience

Rating: 4/10

"Yuusha ga Shinda!" or "The Legendary Hero Is Dead!" promised an intriguing premise, but unfortunately, it failed to deliver on its potential. Despite my initial excitement, it took an unusually long time to get in the mood to finish the anime. Normally, I would breeze through a 12-episode series in a day, but this one took me a week of on-and-off watching, indicating a lack of engagement.

I wouldn't recommend "Yuusha ga Shinda!" to anyone, as it falls short in various aspects. First and foremost, the humor within the series is lackluster. The ... jokes often fall flat, and the attempts at comedic relief rarely hit the mark, leaving me wanting more. Even as an ecchi anime, it disappoints, as the portrayal of such elements is weak and fails to captivate the viewer. It lacks the necessary energy and appeal that other successful ecchi anime possess.

One of the major drawbacks of the series is the main character, Touka Scott. His portrayal comes across as annoying, and not in a likable or endearing way. His character lacks depth and fails to grow throughout the anime, leaving a feeling of constant irritation rather than empathy or admiration. It becomes challenging to invest in a story when the main protagonist fails to garner support.

To add to the frustrations, the anime's pacing and narrative struggle to maintain interest. The plot feels stagnant, and the overall progression is slow, making it a tedious watch. To combat the boredom, I found myself resorting to watching it at 4x speed, a testament to the lack of engagement and entertainment value it provided.

Considering how unengaging "Yuusha ga Shinda!" was, I would typically drop an anime of this nature. However, I persevered to complete it solely for the sake of saying that I had seen it, rather than any genuine interest or enjoyment. It's disappointing when an anime fails to leave a lasting impression or evoke any positive emotions.
