Synopsis

On her way to school one day, Suzume Iwato stumbles upon Souta Munakata, a young man searching for abandoned areas. The high school girl directs Souta to a nearby ruin, but out of pure curiosity, she herself decides to head to the same destination.

Once there, Suzume discovers an isolated door with a dreamlike universe lying beyond it—a place that she can see and feel, but not enter. A strange stone rests on the ground nearby, but it turns into a cat-like creature and scurries away when Suzume lifts it. Suddenly afraid, she heads back toward her school, not realizing that her act of leaving the door open will have consequences.

With the "keystone" released, the evil within the other universe can now freely escape and wreak havoc throughout Japan. Intending to correct her dangerous mistake, Suzume joins Souta—whose true goal is to prevent evil from festering—in finding and locking all open doors before the country is destroyed.

Not Much To say about this, But a very enjoyable watch.

Art - 10/10 The animation style is amazing, always a fan of the more advanced movie animation style as seen in kimi no na wa aswell. It brings soo much life to everything and the colour pallete is very recognisable.

Characters - 9/10 I enjoy pretty much every characters but dont LOVE any of them.

Story - 9/10 A pretty standard fantasy story tbh, but executed well.

Ost/Sound Design - 10/10 Radwimps on the Soundtrack is always a W, Voice acting is peak and sound effects are not grading to the ears.

Enjoyment - 8/10 - A Little bit ...

This review is for the film Suzume.

Summary:
Suzume is a film written by Makoto Shinkai and incorporates similar art and music, though the story tends to be more focused on adventure than romance. Suzume is an interesting character who is forced into an adventure and gradually grows as the story progresses. The film has excellent art and music. This may be of interest to you if you enjoy adventure stories or romance, although the romance is actually quite forced and detracts from the overall message of the film.

Story: 5/10
The story is generally interesting with some more action than Makoto Shinkai's other films. It explores themes ...

I can't recommend this movie to anyone who appreciates good storytelling or well-written characters, because you won't be finding any of those in this movie. This will be a very short, spoiler-free review.

Now that out of the way, let's focus on the positives. The visuals and sound were amazing, the voice acting was decent...and there were the positives.

The story was a complete mess and missed a clear direction. Most of the time things just seemed to happen on the screen with no explanation whatsoever. Sometimes there can be too much exposition, but this movie lacked it completely which is even worse. There were also many ...
