Akuyaku Reijou nanode Last Boss wo Kattemimashita

At first I though this is gonna be a copy of "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" where a normal girl gets iseka'd and all she does is try to remove the doom flags but I am glad that this anime proved me wrong. This anime is not typical at all and the first episode was amazing.. not to mention the the Opening and ending songs are great and have such a vibe that I can't stop listening to them...

the plot of the story is good and doesn't seem boring at all. it is likable 8/10
as for the characters? ... they remind me of the characters in "Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs"... I think they are really well written I especially love the Main characters... idk why but they give off the "chad" vibe...
Aileen is a straightforward girl who is surprisingly not an airhead and Claude is shy but also straightforward. not only the main characters but even the antagonist do a perfect job to piss you off. I found this scenario quite unique .

A fantastic comedy in which you can't help but admire Aileen, the main heroine, and one who was reborn into the world of an otome game as the villain. Does this sound familiar? The show resembles Hamefura in some ways.

The show's premise is as follows: Aileen is dumped by Cedric. Aileen makes Claude fall in love with her in order to avoid the fate of the character she was reborn as. Claude falls in love with Aileen, and the two live happily ever after.... or so that should have been the case. Aileen tries everything in her power to avoid doom flags and her fate ... of being killed in one way or another.

The show is fairly lighthearted, with the goal of demonstrating Aileen's perseverance and determination, while also highlighting her good-hearted nature and, in the process, exposing those who have evil intentions and dare to stand in her way. Aileen's ability to influence those around her is uncanny, making her one hell of a main heroine. Her feminine wiles aren't to be overlooked either, with a personality that makes everyone around her admire and even fall in love with her. A funny story backed up with well-developed characters, this series is something worth noting of.

Art-wise, this show isn't the best. I still can't get used to the show's art style. In terms of animation, I'd say it is pretty good, with nothing particularly disappointing to mention. And the OP and ED are perfect for the show. I was already feeling them in the first episode of the show. The VAs should not be overlooked for how well they portray the characters to which they are assigned.

Overall, aside from the show's art, I can't think of much to complain or dislike about it. Maybe if you consider that it has a very similar premise to Hamefura, then yeah, I can see why people might be put off watching it. However, the execution and handling of both premises was very different. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone who enjoys watching light-hearted and entertaining shows. Aileen, you go girl!!!

The villainess trope is something we’ve seen a couple of times now as it has slowly become more popular. I myself was questioning if this could follow up on the success of something like My Next Life as a Villainess. I must say, I think it kind of did as this was an enjoyable ride to sit through, but by all means, it isn’t perfect and can be a little bit goofy at times. I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss is a fun watch for those interested in it, but it can definitely have been improved upon.

I always say that ... art isn’t the biggest factor in my enjoyment of an anime, and while the art style and animation aren’t the worst, it's honestly not the best either. Sometimes character movements seem stiff, and to be honest other than the main duo the character designs themselves were a little bit boring, but conversely, I thought the colors meshed well together and really made some moments pop out. I also thought the ost was fine at best as well.

Characters: 8
I believe this is where this anime strived the most and is really where it kept me in my seat. I think Aileen is a pretty good female lead and has a certain charm behind her serious yet nurturing personality. I also really liked how they portrayed Claude as well, they showed both his softer and stricter side very well. To be honest I dont have many complaints when it comes to the side characters either, other than designs. My main issue lies with the antagonist as their motives never were the clearest, and kind of seemed a little shallow, but overall, the cast was great.

Story: 6
While I do think the characters made the show enjoyable, the story wasn’t anything too special, as the pacing at times would be a little all over the place, and the main antagonist kind of got less interesting to watch after the first arc which affected the overall plot as they were the main driving source for it to move forward. That being said, I dont think it's bad enough to drop the whole anime and for the right person, this can be an enjoyable watch.

I’ll give it 6 almonds out of 10.

'Taming the Final Boss' is a mildly enjoyable diversion at best: it's an uninspired romantic comedy in an uninspired fantasy setting with a convoluted premise, a badly rushed plot, and lackluster romance and comedy. Though the setup is superficially similar to this year's excellent 'Trapped in a Dating Sim', what develops is much less impressive: like a winning chess position, except every piece is slightly misplaced.

The pacing is a disaster: the season is crammed with standalone arcs, each of which is rushed, all of which together leave little time for characters and relationships to develop. Nine episodes in, the show is still introducing entire factions ... in thirty-second expository clips. I thought we were going to see a video-game villainess seduce a demon lord: are we done with that? I feel like we could have squeezed more out of it.

Actually, it's not clear at all how the story builds on or benefits from the premise. Why make her a villainess? Why reincarnate her? Why in a dating sim? Any one of those elements could have taken the story in an interesting direction if it had been treated as more than just isekai overhead. It's not difficult to imagine: an evil heiress gets dumped, tries to get even, and winds up fixing her life, and the kingdom, essentially out of spite. Or how about this: reborn into fantasy high society, an ordinary modern girl has to act the part of a notorious noblewoman or face destruction. As for being trapped in a dating sim — I mean, that one practically writes itself: it's funny when a normal person has to deal with stupid genre tropes. Unfortunately, the show delivers none of the above.

The animation is noticeably cheap, but the real problem is the lazy writing, whether it's solving mysteries offscreen — no time for fun, we've got plot points to deliver — or ruining a joke by explaining it. The fight scenes lack tension because everyone has poorly defined magic powers. The romance is half-baked. The antagonists are not well motivated.

Like 'The Dungeon of Black Company', a much better show, the protagonist is refreshingly motivated. But instead of pruning her overgrown backstory and giving her room to grow, the writers merely embroidered her with isekai kitsch. Although I mildly enjoyed parts of every episode, I wouldn't watch another season.

The first few episodes immediately hook you, suggesting a fun and light hearted series of a girl who decides to court the demon lord to avoid dying in an otome game. Aileen is endearing and crafty. Claude, despite being the demon lord, is surprisingly soft and affectionate. How Aileen decides to avert her own doom, sometimes through ridiculously concocted plans, is hilarious. The song for the ending credits goes hard.

Only, the pacing is entirely off. Somehow, the series feels like it's planning to adapt 8 volumes in a short anime. Supposedly emotional movements are introduced and discarded within the minute. Most episodes after the ... first 3 feel like they should have been given 3 episodes each. The plot isn't advancing at a breakneck speed, unlike some other series: it's just skipping too many important details to make you care in any capacity. There's a few issues with the animation which sometimes falls to embarrassingly bad but it is mostly passable, but these aren't the primary issues with the story. With such engaging and fun leads, it just needed a longer adaptation.

The first thing I would like to start this review off with, is that I do hope that more series of this nature comes out. While isekais are done to death, I do believe we should get more and more Villainess animes in the future.

Story and characters: 6
If you know Bakarina, then you of course would know a bit of the story here. Girl gets isekai'd into an Otome game, where she is the Villainess, and now has to find ways to escape her fate of dying by game end. Though, what I do like about this one compared to the other, is that she's ... starting within the thick of things. Rather than being able to adapt and fix her childhood for the better, to avoid most o the supposed doom flags. But how best would I describe it?

It's a little cheesy, a bit messy in parts, but it's quite easy to follow, some moments will certainly surprise you.Seems like both shows still follow a more comedic and over the top nature at points, which to be fair to the show itself. It actually makes it more fun to watch as a result. If it was a straight up normal isekai, then it would be watered down, and more likely boring. But with it's fun nature of seriousness, mixed in with fun. It does make a good product.

To go into detail about the characters, god, if this anime does one great thing, is that it does make you interested in the characters. The prince...God the prince, I've never wanted to punch someone so much,he really does get on your nerves. Makes me think how Aileen and Lilia ever landed within his circle, cause those two bundle of precious joys don't deserve his attention, yet alone presence. Aileen is weird fun, but she brings a lot of attention to herself, an upbeat character like that is good for the show. While Lilia is more calmer, but more sweet, which is sweet to enjoy.

Art and sound: 7
I really do like the look of it's style and product. The care in it's animation, and movements, really shows within the anime. Being bright when needed to be, but also dark and gloomy when needed ot be too. But also really showcasing what good this anime has, with how flashy, and good it can look when it comes to it's movements, from the characters, their reactions, along with the powers that they used. Sometimes even looking graceful, episode 3 is a prime example of such. With a good and fitting for purpose sound track to boot. Not to mention a kick ass ED, that is just a fun ED in general. It needs to be said.

Honestly, while the writing is a bit mixed, it still makes for an entertaining product, and cute characters. Along with some getting what they deserve. An interesting start, and can only get better if it gets a bit more impactful. I'd give it a watch.

Akuyaku Reijou is an anime that I can only really recommend as background noise. The isekai and reincarnation genres have always been a refuge for shows with wasted potential, but even if lost potential is unavoidable, Akuyaku Reijou is utterly self sabotaging. However, I did give this show a 4 not a 0, so I'm inclined to point out a few of its redeeming qualities before I disparage it.

Pros:

It can be fun, I'd say somewhere half way through the show I would confidently state that I was enjoying myself watching the show, certainly keep your brain off while watching, but once your brain ... is off it can be mildly entertaining.

It's not a slow burn at all, the main character and her pet (the demon lord) are openly head over heels for one another by like the third episode. So if you hate the will-they-won't-they-tropes that plague a lot of the romance genre, maybe you'd prefer this. I personally think they shot themselves in the foot having the two main characters get together so quickly, but I can see it appealing to a few people.

The comedic beats do land sometimes, not always mind you, but often enough to give the show an upbeat feeling so good enough.

Cons:

The pacing is terrible. The show should have absolutely ended at episode 4, it is as if they crammed all their main ideas for the concept into the first 4 episodes, then realised they still had 8 episodes left to fill. Instead of going back and trying to give more depth and flesh out what could be considered the core of the story, they instead just tacked on 8 episodes worth of nonsense. It's the writing equivalent of being sold a bag of flour by the pound, opening it and finding two-thirds of it is rocks. It isn't "I'm the villainess so I'm taming the final boss", it is "I tamed the final boss in 4 episodes, now watch me go on side quests for three hours."

The depth of this show is lesser than the depth of my carpet. No character development whatsoever, the only exception I can maybe think of is Keith; the demon lord's right hand man, and Levi but they are both side characters and their arcs only last 1 episode. Otherwise if there is "development" it isn't really development, it is just a random and inexplicable shift in a character's attitude, see-> the demon lord during the third arc, or prince Cedric in the final episode. The character with the most interesting concept was probably Lillia, and her motivations absolutely deserved exploration, but no, nothing. Don't expect anything in the realm of high quality writing, you will inevitably be disappointed.

It doesn't make sense. I don't think this warrants an explanation, I just thought I would leave this here, if you even pay a modicum of attention to the screen you'll probably become extremely confused and frustrated.

There's way too many characters. Maybe this explains why the show couldn't be bothered to develop any of them, but my god why are there so many of them. Although preferably they wouldn't constantly introduce new characters, the issue is only further exacerbated by the show's refusal to drop them from the screen after they are no longer relevant to the current arc. Furthermore the characters aren't even eye-catching, the designs are all bland, and you couldn't even consider them to be gimmicky, they all have cardboard personalities with few exceptions.

Almond. Fuck his inclusion in the final two episodes, he alone dropped my rating by a point.


Let's wrap this up.

You should watch this show if you have an infatuation with the isekai/otome game genre and a thing for lord claude.

You should not watch this show if you don't belong to the former group.

"Akuyaku Reijou nanode Last Boss wo Kattemimashita" is a 2022 Issekai romance from Maho Film.
The plot is quite simple: the protagonist, as a classic Issekai scenario is supposed to be, finds herself in the world of a video game, where she finds herself in the role of a villain whose destiny is death. The task is clear: to change the plot of the game by defeating the final boss...with her love. Romance, though.

The series itself is divided into three arcs, in each of which the story changes, the characters remain the same (except that new ones appear). In my opinion, the first and ... second arcs are very good, but the third seemed boring and unnecessary, although in general, the plot of the anime could have been finished at 4 series (the end of the first story).

There are quite a few characters in the anime, but not all of them decided to reveal. Of the 5 assistants of the main character, Aileen, only Isaac was given time, while the rest became third-rate.

The music is present, but the same music is played time and time again throughout the anime. A tense moment - long live the medieval melody.
Drawing looks a bit sparse, although maybe Ufotable Studios have lavished me with artistic beauty, but for 2022 it does look a bit lacking. But come on, it's all subjective, it's a my opinion.

I didn't really get the gist of it. Maybe the author wanted to say that even in the game love and friendship work wonders and solve many issues, change the fate, but most likely the anime is just a normal isekai, covered with the feelings of the main characters. Some characters are revealed, discarded, and what is timeless is the beauty and allure of the prince of darkness, Claude. By the way, I would argue with the word "darkness." After all, all the darkness is crows, furry critters, cyclops, and green-haired helpers... Seriously, they even have a fortress? A fortress for one man, two demons and beasts...that's "darkness."

Whatever. I found the anime and its plot entertaining enough, despite the third story. The occasional interesting characters were also fun to watch. I want to mention Kana Hanazawa's wonderful acting as Lilia, it was gorgeous! That's all for now :D

In all honesty, this show Is enjoyable to a certain degree, the first 5 are great, but then it keeps trying to repeat the same things repeatedly.you or the main couple cant seem to catch a break xD.



Story :- 6/10
The plot design is shojo Esque, it follows those correctly, but tries ... to stuff as many shoujo tropes as possible, its like a free for all, the whole array of cutesy mascot characters, plenty of bishounen and the actually capable and charming of a woman that is Aileen (Not gonna lie this helped me keep watching) . the whole fateful demon lord thing is completely a video game plot and the anime does not shy away from using the ”iTs because of za video game” excuse and rinse and repeat them.


Characters:- 5/10
Anyone other than Aileen and Claude is basically meat that validates their relationship to some degree, the main villains are just comic book villain cutouts with a little bit of improvement in Cedric as the episodes went on.

Sound and VA:- 6/10
The most unbalanced thing ever the OST is horrendous most of it is reused to the point of boredom like the duck noises or the blushy moments., but the OP and ED are quite unique and catchy.

Art and animation 5/10 :-
As standard as bishounen or shojo anime gets to be honest.

A show that started strong but lost steam really quickly, I swear I probably would not have completed it if I was binging. As for my recommendation, if you don't mind repetitiveness as long as you can get a good dose of doki doki every two episodes this may be a good watch.

HameFura (you know, the one with the lovable dense blonde MC Bakarina Claes), MobSeku (you know, the one with the shitty MC Leon Fou Bartfort), and finally the 3rd entry in the now Isekai space that is the Otome Game sub-genre: Akuyaku Last Boss (or AkuLas for short feat. yet another blonde MC). Damn, looks like Isekai has a new winning formula that's only starting to pick up right now, but only getting more predictable as time passes.

Out of the Otome Game adaptations we've had so far, I really have to concede the fact that HameFura is the overall better handled show that we have ... seen of this now start-up "Villainess Otome Game" isekai sub-genre. And while MobuSeka was just ugly throughout and kinda rushed in its adaptation, Akuyaku Last Boss a.k.a AkuLas is the mix between the both the good and the bad being a decent show overall, with the same overarching story that is already beginning to wear the audience out of its idea, but with the execution being both favourable and not depending on where the game's route goes according to the original LN author that is Sarasa Nagase. But if there's one thing that we can all agree on, is that the show's pacing whacks in your face being faster than the speed of dating and harnessing a harem all at once, with everyone being the wiser.

But I'm getting ahead of myself here, let's rewind from the start. If you've watched either HameFura or MobuSeka for that matter, AkuLas's story is essentially the same copy-pasted blurb setting of its main female MC being Isekai-ed into the game, with her memories intact of how the game is being played out and navigating thereabouts so that she can reach the outcome of the game's "good end" and avoiding the "bad end". But as the saying goes: "Truth is stranger than fiction", and even if the game turned out to be predictable, there is always that small hole-sized void that'll plunge the female MC into self-perception if there exists an area that wasn't part of the main story (e.g. special spin-off character routes), regardless of how well she can memorize the entire game inside out to play exactly as how it would be panned out.

And the main female character in this game is this girl called Aileen Lauren d'Autriche. Having been reincarnated from the real world, knowing fully well that she's the villainness whose destiny is programmed for death, she does what any other character would do to turn away from the fated death that awaits them. Only this time, AkuLas takes a very different approach and hinges it on the demonic side of the family rather than the stereotypical kingdom noble royalty, which provides something new to the table to make things interesting. This is especially so if you can get the reference of the source title itself to tame the "Final Boss", and for one, Alieen already has her sights set on the game's "Final Boss" that is Claude Jean Ellmeyer, the lord of the demons, and simultaneously the older brother and former heir to the throne whom he lost his claim to his younger brother Cedric, who is the default love interest of the game's heroine. And what's a prince without the princess a.k.a the game's heroine, and she is none other than Lilia Reinoise, the proclaimed self-righteous princess to stand alongside Cedric as the Holy Sword Maiden, which imbues her with power enough to defend against demons. I swear that the way that I'm sounding here makes you think that there're lots of characters, and yes there are many, but easier to follow than the almost cluster-fish that is HameFura.

Having already gone though both HameFura and MobuSeka in the same manner, you should already know that the game isn't definite on everything, and it's the same choice for Aileen here. Having been kicked out of the kingdom due to Cedric's incompetence of his older brother Claude being the more intelligent and bright of the two, the self-centered narcissism of Cedric forcing his way to get revenge for rejection, Aileen's a smart girl who knows her way around such travesties, and chose to join the dark side instead where Claude is posted at, at his demonic house, which has no short of assistants ready at the sound of his call. Claude's servants of right-hand man Keith Eigrid and Beelzebuth handle the small, intricate details while refining their loyalty towards the Demon Lord himself. Keith is a naturally competent assistant who's a jack of all trades and master of all, and it's no wonder if Claude is out on business that Keith can be in charge being the acting lord. Beelzebuth a.k.a Bel may be rowdy with his non-mannerisms and etiquette, but at least he respects Claude's space by trying to not embarrass him as much as possible. Rounding off the demons is a crow named Almond, after Aileen managed to successfully be tamed it to get to like her. Also, this may be a minor spoiler, but the duck scenes in the show are absolutely hilarious to say the least.

Overall, this demon dynamic has been a somewhat subtle affair of Stephen King's quote: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, shame on both of us." To be presented the same setting 3 times in a row, albeit following the game's different layouts and characters symmetrical to the plot, it's a hard one to swallow for both anime-onlies and even LN source readers. As an example, the manga that was based on the 1st game alone covers 3 volumes, and the show manages to clinch that record in 4 episodes. That is some blazing blitz speed if ou ask me, the amount of sacrifice just reeling for content to reach its eventual end point, leaving the audience perplexed and confused about missing plot pointers that could help expand the story more. Sadly, under studio Maho Film's in-house director Kumiko Habara, it felt like sound advice was abandoned in favour of content adaptation as quick as it comes, and I swear at times that I was jawdropped at how fast things were going, to the point that aspects such as character development would get overshadowed. To my dismay, the worst fears are realized, and the anime is done in such a way that it dishonours the source material.

But there's a silver lining in all of this. Despite the fast pacing, the characters are fun to watch, especially Aileen and her group of demons after successfully "taming" them, even Claude himself to reckon herself as his lawful wife as means to get back at Cedric for the shame that he incurred to her. Karma deserved on Cedric's part, which is actually good since villains have a hidden side to them that makes us feel pissed off at them all the time. Where the story falters, the characters make up for the slack, and I would say that the good balances the bad to make for a decent product overall. And despite being produced at Maho Film, the visuals do pop at times, which more actually more reminiscent towards the studio's light-hearted works like Leadale no Daichi nite a.k.a In the Land of Leadale.

It's been quite some time since I've ever heard a Rie Takahashi song ever since the many displays of the Takagi-san franchise, and truth be told that her OP song was one that at first, I despised it for the same zany, off-the-whack vocals, but it grew on me and I began to like it the more listens it got, being very energetic and lively, something that I've come to expect of the typical RieRi song. ACCAMER's ED song is pretty much the same, except that it was forgettable at best, even with the playful visual drops accompanying the song itself, which is a nice touch to say the least.

If there exists an anime world where neither HameFura nor MabuSeka ever existed, AkuLas would've been treated as something totally new towards the Isekai genre of its many sub-groups and given an equal amount of criticism that would sway towards recommendations. But as it is, my original point still stands that HameFura is the better of the 3 Otome Game adaptations, and this show, while being good in spots, has its own flaws that aren't negligible, and somewhat disappointingly wedges between said shows neutralizing both good and bad aspects of the anime. It's a fine showing, and I really wish to say to give this a watch but beware of the feeling of the Buyer's Remorse if you wish to sink your teeth into what is yet another copy-paste Otome Game setting.

Frustrating. I am sure there is a good story (four stories?) buried in here. I think the main character is interesting and well acted of course. I think this could have been great... if they had only slowed down for a minute!
Side characters are introduced and disappear and pop up again. Wait, that guy was, what, an architect? Or something. Those guys hanging around with nothing to do except dress up nicely were... what again? I am sure I've seen them before. Wait, that girl was at a fancy school for the elite and now she's a chambermaid (what would her parents think)?

Frustrating. That guy ... is the demon lord and that is terrible.. but the demons are just fluffy creatures living in a wood and they love him... what is this all about?
She's just met him... now they're in love... when did that happen?

12 episodes for four stories and dozens of characters. It is just too much. Such a pity.

I adored everything about this show and most definitely the MC. Naturally, I binged it in one night :-)

The MC not only defies the game and its storyline, but she does it without hesitation and the plague of most female MC's in anime; the constant, frustrating and enraging bouts of self-doubt, pity and insecurity.

A completely unique heroine/villainess in Aileen and I hope we see more 'rom-coms' and animes in general that showcase smart decisive MCs just like her.

Although I wished she would have appreciated and threw some of it back at him regarding the straightforward way Claude interacted with her when expressing his ... feelings, desire and sexy flirting.

That alone made me a fan within the first 3 minutes of the 1st episode. So watch it. It's completely binge-worthy.

This definitely sits next to HameFura, but I personally enjoyed this more because it really satisfies the romance, comedy, and adventure aspect. Covered all angles. It also kept me on my toes towards the end, without teasing for too long (which some shows have too much of - it just becomes annoying; this one was just right). I loved all characters including the fact that they had unique personalities + qualities, and I loved how I HATED the characters I was meant to dislike ... lol! For 12 episodes, the anime really covered all that it could, and all aspects it could. It was so ... interesting, definitely worth a binge!

The main character is a true power queen, still showing femininity and vulnerability in situations that call for it, which is also a really good thing to me. Also very persevering and strong willed. And the demon king... Well, I just LOVED how he's portrayed. No extremes, not a fool, chivalrous, protective, romantically in tune over time... HOT! And just very complimentary to Aileen. They both embody different versions of Yin and Yang nicely, rather than one extreme to the other.

Again, I love this kind of romance theme. I loved HameFura just as much, each had their own charm. However, this show wins for me due to the fact that I got to experience true romance, and actually see the happy ending happen (in regards to romance). I like that I got to experience the characters victory and love. Literally, no disappointments. I loved the anime style, visuals, and vibrant colors. I could rewatch this.

This definitely goes at the top of my list of romantic favorites!

At first sight the show seemed interesting so giving it a chance was a good decision, now I absolutely love it. Animes with an isekai twist where the MC gets isekai'd into the villainess/villain of the game and tries to prevent the bad stuff from happening is just what seems to work sometimes if done right. The story wasn't as predictable as most isekai stories are.

The way the characters are written and played go very well with this overarching story, although there is a few arcs contained within the series, or at least that's the way it is going. 7 out of 12 episodes ... in and we're already on the second arc of the story, not like there's an issue with that, the story goes along quite well that way.

Another one that got me to check this out was "My Next Life as a Villainess: All routes Lead to Doom!", anyone who liked the anime I mentioned here will most likely enjoy watching this one as well!

The story is straight forward enough, for two seconds, and then there's a billion new characters without proper introductory arcs, so I cant even understand what their relationships and motivations are or even role within the story is, wacky out of place magic, overpowered lord demon, a heroine that doesn't care about pacing because she will do whatever she wants, whenever she wants, even if it means throwing all the sense out of the story out the window.


To further elaborate without boring you to death, the pacing is absolute garbage, it's like hodge ... poding a thousand concept, all together into a monsterous clump of a story, memory loss, villainess trope, becoming king, betrayal, demon essence (whatever that means), political conflict, marrying the prince....and it JUST MAKES NO SENSE!! the story wants to be everything, and fair enough, but the pacing is too nonsensical that it's comical, I tried to understand, but every episode I felt gaslit into thinking I skipped an episode...

It's your ADHD brain on shrooms kind of writing and pacing.

I really wanted to like this because it hit me in my weak-for long haired fictional men with a sweet voice and tortured lone wolf personality-spot, but it just makes no gosh darn sense, NONE OF IT, NADA, 0...

Maybe read the source material? I wouldn't know, but I am fairly sure it would better than this mess.

It is one of the best anime I have seen. I love this anime. The part which attracted me the most was the strong female protagonist who can handle things on her own. The female character is my favourite character of all time. She is strong, smart and very determined rather than the other weak girls in other anime who cries for help and wait for the hero to come and save them. The female protagonist shows that women can be strong and smart as well as feminine too. For this reason the anime become more interesting to me. The story line is also good ... and the animation is so fantastic .Totally in love with this anime.
If you love royalty/ historical romance give it a try. Totally recommended.

Akuyaku Reijou nanode Last Boss wo Kattemimashita it's just another isekai villaness anime.

Just another doomed vilaness trying to escape her fate. Well if you like strong characters you'll probably gonna like Laureen, she's fierce, and very decided, but of course she has a week side too, she's human after all.

The animation it's not bad, the characters have some kind of development. Even though I enjoyed, I must say a few things. The anime it's kinda rushed, it's just too much information and events to fit in just 12 episodes. Everything escalates so quickly that you could feel lost sometimes.

Even though it's not new, the ... show it's very enjoyable due to our protagonists dynamics and personalities. So in the end, I would recommend it.

Give it a shot if you enjoy this genre. You have nothing to lose besides your precious time.

I was really surprised to like this anime considering the reviews I had read. For that reason, I decided to write this review because I don’t think this anime is getting the love it deserves.

I agree the story is rushed and I'm really sad about it because most often we have empty plots being dragged on and this story really had potential to develop beautifully. Because of that, naturally, the pacing and even the characters are a bit unstable at times. The good thing is that it made really curious about the manga because of that.

Concerning other aspects - I liked the art, the songs, ... I really loved the tenacious and brave female lead, the demons were really sympathetic (Almond I’m looking at you!) and Lord Claude was very charming imo (the way he says Aileen Lauren Dautriche is unforgettable lol). It might not be the most original story in these times of otome/isekai, but I considered this a peculiar one, a very light and sweet romance with exciting adventurous situations.

For my taste and for what I was looking for, it was really good to watch. Finally, I know it's not for everybody and because of that I should choose “mixed feelings”, but I’m choosing to really recommend this because I think it’s a great choice for people interested in this kind of story :)

uhhhh i started it because i thought it would be a nice shojo romance, stayed for the overall goofiness. To be honest, objectively, it wasnt good. BUT there' s a badass woman MC, witty, quick-thinking and kind which makes you want to see what she does next. Background characters although there were never fleshed out, but yk, cool romance.

Overall, the plot jumps around a lot, the pacing is super weird, (there's a whole ass arc that could be 6-7 episodes crammed in 2-3) and there were a lot of points or problems solved in ways i didnt really get, but instead of trying to ... make any sense of it, i just vibed and went along. That is generally the mindset you have to have with these types of anime. It was my trash anime of the season, goofy and fun. If you re into more traditionally good anime maybe you should skip this one.

The first 7 or so episodes were really enjoyable and fun. But towards the end it felt so, so RUSHED. I'm so disappointed. This anime could have done with being twice the length it was. I loved how badass Aileen was and how she wasn't the usual useless damsel you normally see in romace manga. She is her own person and makes her own decisions and has tons of confidence in herself. She actually has a personality, instead of being a self-insert character! I loved that. I'm also an absolute sucker for romance framed from the "villainess" POV.

I really enjoyed the back and forth, ... will-they-won't-they of Claude and Aileen's romance and their growing affections for one another. Unlike another certain anime in the same genre, it's so refreshing to see their relationship actually GO SOMEWHERE instead of constantly stringing the viewers along with a reverse harem snorefest. But the last few episodes of Last Boss were really unfulfilling and left me wanting.

Spoilers ahead:

We never get an explanation for why the empress dowager was doing what she did. We never get an explanation for who Lilia really is and her actual motives, nor any meaningful discussion between her and Aileen about being isekai-ed into an otome game besides some petty squabbling/exposition. I mean come on, you meet someone just like you who also wound up in another world, there is no way you wouldn't want to talk about that more to someone, right?

I cannot for the life of me understand why Cedric would continue to like such a callous person as Lilia after all that time and seeing how she acted.

The whole subplot with Elephas was glossed over, was poorly explained and left the viewer to guess just wtf was actually going on.

Certain parts of the plot end up so rushed that the reasoning behind them are super unclear. Aileen and Claude didn't even kiss at the end of the final episode. 6/10 for me. Left me feeling very unsatisfied.
