Although Both have very different story but the similarity of both show are great world building. Just make sure you're okay with some ecchi fanservice

Both Series came from a web novel, both series also have insane OP characters and comedy. Heroes Vs. Monsters? Gods Vs. Demons? Both are always fighting and having some peacetime.

Similar crude jokes, edgy characters and no sh*ts given attitude to story telling. Both have a similar "adult swim" vibe. Idaten-tachi leans more into some dark themes and has a distinct shounen-esque setup and uses that to explore the themes whereas Panty & stocking has a bigger emphasis on humour.

Both anime revolve around gods fighting demons or spirits (in Noragami they're called phantoms and in Heion Sedai no Idaten they're just called demons) and in both anime the gods are trying to protect humans.

Well guess really similar from characters personality, and art/ animation.

Both have very unique and striking art styles with bold, exaggerated colours. The stories are not similar.

They both are somewhat controversial and not for everyone, but because of that they feel even more realistic and believable that most of other titles I have watched.

Even if most of Hellsing is an elongated battle that keeps building up on plot-points and sheer craziness the core aspects of the story, that being the protagonists and antagonists, bear resemblance to those from Idaten in the way that they are so far removed from actual heroic values the people we root for are more like anti-heroes. They don't seem to care much for humans, in the case of Hellsing they're more engrossed with war while Idaten is more apathetic and chill, and create a lot of collateral damage because of this aspect. Villains will act in heinous ways but are far weaker, without  read more

Similarities - Action fantasy shows that have very dark/mature themes - Incredibly strong, smart, and ruthless main characters - Evil antagonists that are relatively weak, but survive by being smart/cunning - Fast paced action with back and forth mind games between the protagonist and antagonists - Graphic depictions of r*pe, sex, violence, and gore - Characters questioning their ethics/morality

-Battle Royale of OP characters Idaten that fight with other OP characters demons they are similar to titans. -Near future day setting but with some of war machines, ships, aircrafts and hopeless soldiers -Evil mastermind that plans many moves ahead -Ugly world, violence, gruesome deaths Both animes are full of action so you shouldnt be bored while watching them

The way fighting is imaged really similar, mc's side is op but there is a sense of helplessness sometimes.

Same concept of - man eating monsters/ part monster part human - what it means to be human - question of coexistence with a dangerous non-human species - supernatural powers Different: Tengoku has more travellling/adventure, Heion Sedai more focus on superpower/fighting/opposing factions

Idaten reminds me of alot of Imaishi's anime. Namely Dead Leaves, both are over the top, violent and have crude/dark humor. If any of that appeals to you you'll enjoy both.

Both seem to be generic battle-shounens at first with epic over-the-top fights...but soon you will find out they are actually seinen anime and for a good reason, becasue these are two epic action anime I'd recommend adults to watch

Seinen - Blood & gore, edgy dark humour. This scratches the same itch that Dorohedoro did, and both ironically being overlooked hidden gems.

Both series have almost-chibi character design that is also used to "soften" violent and gore scenes.

Similar animation style and wacky comedy mixed with colorful fights.

Tactics and strategy. With the biggest difference in executed scope. HxH does masterful work at portraying T&S in micro situations and play-by-play fights. While this show (at least up to the ending in ep. 11) portrays the same disposition in a macro scale. Both anime will take you into a fun roller coaster ride where predicaments of conflicting factions swap flawlessly. Taking into account character personality, character POV, world building and situations.

Chaotic, entertaining storyline with vibrant colours. Some ideas in idaten may turn you off if you're coming from meikyuu, and meikyuu doesn't have too much spice.

Simple minded shonen protagonist, hot girls and lots of ecchi scenes, characters follow the rule of cool and the power mechanics are given in surprise info dumps. The difference would be that Idaten is essentially a parody of shonen anime, but they are still very similar thematically.
