Fugou Keiji: Balance:Unlimited

This show is honestly terrible in so many ways mainly involving the plot, the base problem that really ruins the show being said plot and how Cuck James Bond can literally buy anything he wants which makes everything in this show have zero stakes because you know he's literally just gonna buy evidence, answers, or an entire building if he has to to solve the case. At least shows with gimmicky things like this have good characters, good character interactions, good writing, or god-tier animation and sadly this show has none of that. To end it all off go read Spy x Family or really ... any other mystery/spy/thriller because it'll probably be a lot less mind numbing than this can be.

It ended. Thank god, this is the last time I'm ever coming back to this show. "Hero", what a misunderstood word. The show aims for charisma in a three piece while tripping over its own laces.

Gotta say, I was very excited about this show. The opening came out and it was such a good hit. The animation from the opening seemed better than average as well. However, after watching the first few episodes, man, what a letdown.

The soundtrack is interesting and fits the theme of this kind of crime-detective shows well, love the sometimes jazzy tones that really sparkle. The ending and opening ... are gems as well.

Next, the very very problematic characters. I understand the hype about Haru but I can't help but think he makes such a bad cop. He's judgmental (without enough evidence), idealistic (to the point of being a danger to himself and everyone else) and abrasive (diving headfirst with only his blind justice for armor). I'm not sure how someone like that became a cop, and why he wants to remain a cop if he can't even discern right from wrong in the best of times. The situations (under plot armor) allow him to appear infallible. Reality is rarely so kind.
As for Daisuke, I actually much prefer his character. Character trope or not, that rigidity of morals is something I admire and look forward to. He's not a bad person, it's just the way he was brought up: throwing money at everything. In fact, throughout the show, we see lots of instances where he destroys inanimate objects but keeps casualties to a minimum. However, I keep waiting for that moment of change. It doesn't happen by the way.

Their chemistry is nonexistent. Only fujoshis can look forward to those moments forcefully inserted from thin air. It's a show built on fanservice and a fanservice show it will remain.

There are great things about it (I do love the way they show the balance tally at the end of each episode to discern how much Daisuke has spent -- and the gradual decrease). Daisuke's voice actor is pretty good, considering that it's his debut anime.

But, the plot. Or the lack thereof. There are so many problems with the plot that I gave up analysing. You don't even have to squint to see it. Even if you close your eyes, you could probably hear it. I'm not expecting perfection, but at the very least, some realism would help.

Every week, I'm not sure what I'm watching, and why I should feel anything for it. The "heroes" are bad, the villains are worse. There are so many moments where I ask myself, "why did they do this", "why did that happen" that I just got tired of it at the end. Watching this show is exhausting, trying to forgive every mistake. I forget each episode after I watch it and have no desire to rewatch it.

honestly, i don't have a lot to say about this show: the storyline is stale, the characters are one-dimensional, the animation and music are nothing to rave about, etc, but all that i would forgive if the core idea of this anime wasn't such an ideological nightmare.

throughout the episodes, you get presented with the most neoliberal takes imaginable, even as the show does a great job at showcasing the existential horror of people being allowed to do whatever the fuck they want if they have enough inherited money. i mean, there is an honest to goodness scene of daisuke using his vast technology to ... forge a crime and unlawfully arrest someone, later on interrogating her after disregarding her request for a lawyer, and we're supposed to think this is fine because... she's a bad guy? the main characters can break into government facilities and wield myriad weapons and we're not supposed to find that terrifying? there are moments of such profound intellectual dissonance between daisuke's actions and their framing by the narrative that i was just baffled to speechlessness by them.

long story short, don't watch this, you'll gain nothing from it. i'm finishing it purely for completion's sake.

its was disappointing. The story was very intriguing at first because you get two people who have totally different values put together to work. But then the show just focused on this one case and you dont really get to see the two main characters dynamic with each other and it got really boring.

Amazing opening and ending song though. Also mamo-chan voiced Katou which was great.\

overall, I wished the anime focused more on the interactions of the two characters and how they work together. maybe the anime was for the novel readers but it wasn't what I thought it would like.

When the movie "Justice League" was shown back in 2017, there was that Barry Allen and Bruce Wayne scene where Barry asked Bruce "What are your superpowers again?" To which Bruce reply's "I'm Rich." In this anime that was taken from a LN basically puts Daisuke Kambe in such position, in fact this anime revolves around that guy.....and his relationship with his partner/Frienemie, Kato Haru, TBFH how this anime was made to revolve around 2 guys by Original Creator, Tsutsui Yasutaka IMO was most about him being this rebellious guy who has a problem with authority where he probably thinks that technocrats like ... him were in the better position than these authorities who does nothing but do everything by the book. So, enough of that, so:

Story-Poor 3: The plot was simply a loose combination of Hawaii Five O, Gotham, Batman, Richie Rich and a defunct TV series "APB." Now I did say loose combination, cu'z it starts out as a usual police procedural drama , when all of the sudden an arrogant and flashy rich SOB guy suddenly appears and he lets all of his assets to the works for him like his super AI HUESC and a whole lotta cash in hand he becomes this detective in no time and from there on his relationship with his so called by the book patter...TBFH, this anime's story plot simply revolves around money money and money and how much of a loser the SOB's partner is ...in other words this is one anime where the euphemism "Money Talks" really talks and how the anime ended basically was just tad too shallow, it would have been better if the SOB's dad would've have been the enemy all along and his accomplice is the family's butler.

Let's go over each of them:

Kambe Daisuke- Basically he is a combination of Tony Stark's flair for being flashy, Bruce Wayne's sense of justice, Richie Rich's access to tech toys and fortune, and Dirty Harry's of doing things his way....TBFH, I kind of hate to sees him as this arrogant flashy SOB who only lets his money do the talking , in fact I would've have preferred that he gets killed by that blond bad guy.

Kato Haru-For him to be this wash-out detective from the Frist Division who has too much integrity in his system basically makes him a weak character given that he works under the Modern Crimes Prevention Unit, which is a department for loser, is an injustice to his character, IMAO, his character would've have been better utilized as this character who can put Dasuke in his place....

Kambe Suzue- Ok, she's Daisuke's go to tech girl , or in Batman's term, she's Alfred Pennyworth...a very hot Alfred Pennyworth, pretty much she the only sensible character around here, thought it would have been much better if she serves as someone whom both Daisuke and Kato would compete for and probably she should also be someone who shows a lotta skin.

Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters- Lead by Yukihiro Kiyomizu, IMAO, that unit simple don't have any place in this anime, in fact this unit ought be better off handling traffic or just be a bunch of security guards, TBFH , I really don't see any point as to why this series' original creator has to add theses kinds of losers.....

Bad Guys- Katsuhiro Takei, Weinski and Shigemaru , as antagonists their roles were also as sensible as Suzue, In fact if I can have it my way I would have wanted them to beat the shit out of Daisuke and Kato. There is also Daisuke's obaasan in which I don't think should've have been the main villain , IMAO this series ought to just stick to the bad otosan thing where it would have been much better.....

Adollium- According to wiki fandom, it is an element created from sea water that has same potential as plutonium...Really, to have an ending from something as quack as that kind of element serves as a final nail in the coffin, cu'z it only goes to show the original creator's stupidly in science, cu'z the only elements you can extract from seawater were : Hydrogen, Oxygen , Sodium and Chloride...not to mentions carbon from either dead or living microorganism....

Enjoyment-Decent 4: At first I like it , but as it gets to the end , that's were my interest spirals down ,cu'z I simply see the finale as just lame.

Overall-Poor 3: Cu'z it only uses money to to do the talking and the motive for the killing of the MC's okasan was just too shallow.....do, I recommend it???? Maybe , does it deserve a sequel???? NO!!!!!!!

I don't know where to start for this. Many complaints about this anime have to do with it being rushed, which it absolutely is. However, the pacing wouldn't actually be a problem if the story was good. I'm not sure how to hide spoilers on here so I'm going to give my overall before I go into the details so I'll give a warning before it gets there.

To begin with, it's disappointing. The first two episodes have sincere potential and it's all downhill from there. As someone else said, there's no character arch, and there's no big moral. All twists are comically uncreative and equally ... unfathomable. There's a point at the end where I almost admire the creators' ability to not give a shit.

Essentially, it goes like this (this is where some spoilers happen):

The first half, you are watching two people on opposite walks of life learning to live around the other and being detectives in their unconventional ways.

Second half, you have begun watching a Sci Fi anime. Expect absolutely anything to happen because it will. Dreamscapes generated by AI? Ok. Morph suits that make you invincible and invisible? Yeah. Changing faces with hyperrealistic face masks? Anything happens here!

Anyway, the art is by far the best part of this anime. It's beautiful. Everything else is almost unbelievably terrible.

A rich kid that throws money at problems to make them go away paired up with a young cop who takes his job very seriously, almost to the point of being overbearing? Even as a comedy, that premise could've led to fun scenario and nice growth for both of these characters and their incredibly different lives, even more so when you combine that with family drama and criminal procedures.

But sadly, the effort spent on this show was not distributed evenly at all.

To start; what makes a good buddy-story of two incredibly different characters being forced to work together towards a common goal? I hope y'all ... paid attention in chemistry class - but jokes aside, there needs to be a balance. In order for characters like this to bounce off of each other and bring life into the show and their surroundings, there has to be giving and taking. Both characters need to bring a thing or two to the relationship for the other to take away from it - an equal exchange of sorts.

Sadly, the relationship between these two cops is hardly satisfying. Inherent inequality of characters in terms of status for example can be used for a variety of creative jokes, but in this one case, it's always one and the same. The rich kid is an antisocial jerk all the way through with not even a hint of development or change, and the cop has a bit of an arc later on that feels very shoehorned-in - and even then, still leaves him pretty much unchanged by the end. The "joke" is always the same as well; Rich kid abuses the cop or is just a jerk in general towards him one way or another, and the cop can't do anything about it. It gets boring really fast. And don't get me started on the side characters.

The majority of the side cast is made up of the main duo's coworkers - each and everyone of which is one-note and could be easily described in one sentence or less. Foodie. Butt Monkey. Old Cop. Soft Chief. They each have basically one trait and all of their jokes center around that trait. Sure, one of them actually contributes to the plot later on, but even then, everything about him is predictable and cliché and you have a vast pool of movies and series to choose from that did this very thing better. The other half of the side cast is made up of the rich kid's family. And the same applies; a sister with a big brother compley usually played for laughs, but it honestly gets downright creepy, and then there's the grandma and a butler. There might be a little more to them than what meets the eye initially, but again; I've seen it done elsewhere and done better.

Does this show at least entertain on the basis of being a mix of compatible genres?
Well, the first episode would have you believe so, yes. It's kind of absurd how used the rich kid is to solving his problems just by having money. It's absurd just how little regard he has for other people. It could have worked as a comedy that dares to go completely over the top with the concept. But instead, after a couple of actually entertaining one-off-episodes that at least hint that the rich kid has a bit of a heart or is a normal person after all, everything after that just drives into drama like a mud pile in the middle of the road. It's slow. It's boring. It's predictable and lame. The main mystery that is set up by the middle of the show has one of the most boring solution I've seen in quite a while. Nobody changes and nothing gets better. Rich kid's little human moments from the prior episodes disappear completely. Sometimes he will know how to deal with a bomb filled with poisonous gas and other times he will stare at all those weird commoner things. It becomes hard to watch the cop try and put effort into understanding him and making things work, only to be the only one to do so or to even care. They look like they've been forced into a group project in middle school, not like adults trying to pull themselves together. It's not funny and it's not entertaining, it's just mildly annoying at best.

The only thing that kind of works is the production. The show has sleek, elegant character designs and the action is fun. One or two gags land, especially in the earlier episodes. But as soon as the plot kicks in, it drags everything down. And with a genre like this, that is common thorughout all kinds of media all over the world, you have plenty of better options. Trust me.

A cop show with the main character being in a crappy department after getting kicked out for his unwillingness to yield to his values. "Unwillingly" pair him with a rich detective that doesn't value his version of justice, and you get this show.
Seriously, let's just forget the fact that this is the most generic cop show synopsis in the world, but the actual execution and introduction is the most straightforward and idiotic sequence I've seen in a while.
I've got to say, for a show that has a lot going on in the first few episodes, there sure is no semblance of pacing at all. You're ... introduced the bare minimum of the "case" details and you're forced to catch up as you go along. There is no "detective" work as you might guess from the plot. it's actually just the main characters chasing the clear perpetrator down.
Pair this with abysmal animation. I'm not one to complain too much about animation, but when you're using the same exact CG clip to save money on animation, I've got a problem. When there are a solid 10-15 seconds of still frame with just lips moving in a scene that could have been a lot more creative and animated, then I've got a problem. There are so many scenes in this show where it's just 10-15 seconds of still frames. It really surprises me at how little "action" and movement the characters do for a show that's all about chasing culprits and figuring out what's happening. There are so much corners being cut it's ridiculous.
When you assign characters a single trait and that's all you get to know for the entire show, yes, I am not interested. I really don't care much about a cynical rich guy and generic "kind and just" MC.

The only appeals I found in this anime are watching someone spend money without thinking about the cost and the futuristic gadgets.

My first impression was "It is weird for Husk to be able to do illegal stuff with money" (especially as it happens a lot) but I gave a chance to the anime and after all, why not.

Unfortunately, there is little to no character development for the main and supporting characters so it's difficult to follow the story, which is okay at first. The two main characters get along after a skip, but it's hard to believe they made up so quickly in one travel ... (and it was so badly done that I had to check if I had missed an episode). Moreover Daisuke is the most expressionless character you will ever find and all characters have only one or at best two traits so it's hard to relate to them.

As the end was near I noticed it was hard to believe that some inventions only required money and no time all.

The anime's ending is far too rushed, raises unanswered questions and the saddest for me was that I suspected the main plot's culprit since the middle of the anime (for half good reasons). It was frustrating to see he wasn't suspected at all and that later it make me believe he was not the culprit because it was absurd...

The plot is decent and it could've been a great anime if it wasn't for the terrible writing. The plot has full of cliche moments. It starts off good but you can predict the moments or what the characters will do. It's more like a guessing game every time a character does something. I'll rate it 4 because it started off well.

The art is good. Honestly. The animation is the only thing that didn't make me drop this anime. I'll rate it 7.

The sound is okay. Sometimes it's annoying like every time the characters do some cool shit, the same sound just plays ... over and over. It's not that of a bad thing but I just didn't like it. Rating it 4.

The characters are so mediocre. It's like the cliche characters and dialogues. I just skipped most of the scenes and couldn't handle the cringe. You can literally think "oh this is the thing he's gonna say right now". The character development comes off as fake because it doesn't really resonate with me. The characters literally do stupid shit and act like fools even though they are detectives. 1 is the highest I could do.

I did not enjoy it. At first, I did. Everyone was hyped because of the anime, so I thought, might well as watch it. A bad decision, truly. Wasted my time watching this cringe-worthy anime. This might well as be a kids' genre. Enjoyment: 2.

I'm rating it 3, a decent number for this anime. If you can, don't watch it. A waste of time.

WHY I HATE “FUGOU KEJI: BALANCE UNLIMITED”

1. Daisuke that bitch: His character in itself is so annoying. Simps only like him cuz hes rich and hot. Hes not even hot honestly i dont find him fuckin attractive.
What annoys me most is ignorant and ungrateful ass. He just does whatever he want and doesnt care about his family or anything (in the ep he runs away from his home). He is too arrogant and obnoxious of his money and thinks he doesnt need anyones help.
Idk ppl might find this cool but honestly pisses me off. I hate from ep 1 when he didnt help ... haru up the bridge and let him fall. Thtas just rude and not cool.
The reason why this anime is famous is cuz of him only and ew honestly what to do ppl see in him.

2. The plot????: Every story has a plot, but while watching the first few episodes of fugou keji i was wondering what the bloody plot is. What it showed me just a few “adventures” of daisuke and his minions. Those also made no fuckin sense.

Its crime scenes: Legit thru the half of the anime before any real plot was introduced what they showed us was daisuke and his engagement with a few crime scenes. And OMG WTF. They all made no sense and just were so fake op and badass. To people it might seem fun and cool but i think it was so stupid and idotic. This show is basically mocking the police and crime forces that have to risk their lives on a daily basis getting involved with such dangerous tasks.

A guy hijacks a train and threatens the police to kill all the other passengers with him who are just old ladies, just by calling their favourite band perform outside the train station so with the power of fangirling the old ladies escape and the reason the guy did all this was cuz he needed money for her sisters operation and daisuke pays for the operation

????????????????????????????????WHATTTT?????????

What irritates me more is that the cops in the show do nthg in the show. Like its just there.

3. Its pace: An 11 ep anime is quite short and doesnt rlly offer much to the watcher due to the less time. So usually short anime as such get to the plot straight. But no no no. This anime is completely different. It will waste 6 episode of its with useless stuff which is not related to the main plot in any way. And that also with such poor thought stories which leaves u with more questions than answer.


The only thing i like in this anime is Haru and the opening and ending

Daisuke Kanbe carries Balance Unlimited.

The plot of the show is relatively simple. A goody-two-shoes character, Haru is partnered up with the recently hired Daisuke Kanbe and they both go around solving crimes. Why is the show’s name called Balance Unlimited you may ask? Well, that’s because Daisuke has an unlimited amount of wealth hence his bank account has an unlimited balance.

The first 5 episodes are rather episodic, it’s essentially just Daisuke solving crimes with his, you guessed it, wealth. This show is stupidly easy to follow, the characters explain the most minute details that you should already know at first glance. It’s borderline annoying ... how the writers feel the need to explain everything every step of the way, this is a crime show about detectives solving crimes but having a random passerby suddenly explain everything really puts you off.

The show essentially heads to nowhere with no solid plot for it to build on and the producers exploiting Kanbe at any given moment. The show should be renamed to Fanservice Unlimited because at this point Kanbe is doing whatever to please the audience.

I also want to know how amazingly USELESS the other detectives are. I think it was in episode 6 when I realised how horrible the show was (prior to that i was just tolerating it). People can die right in front of the eyes of these so-called ‘detectives’ and they would just ignore it and move along with their lives and continue being lazy. But let’s not forget the episode where a train was hijacked and the only thing the passengers cared about was to not miss their concert. In a nutshell, the people in this universe don’t feel fear at all. The poorly timed humour on top of everything completely ruins the premise of the show, there’s a line between inserting comedy in order to brighten up a situation and there’s one where you just throw it in so randomly and unexpectedly that it completely ruins the mood of the audience. BU does the later

By the 6th episode you can tell the writers thrown together a hastily written plot because maybe, MAYBE, they finally decided to do something with the show than to please the audience with Daisuke. But even so, the plot is rushed and the writing is all over the place, completely removing the mystery aspect of the show.

Overall, don’t watch this for the plot. I can’t think of a person who would enjoy the plot of this show. Only watch it if you like eye-candies like Daisuke.

Boring and forgettable. That pretty much sums up how I feel about Balance: Unlimited.

The story gets two points because it was interesting at the start. Unfortunately the first episode was this anime’s peak, from then on things slowly went downhill. Halfway through the anime is where things just start to shoot downhill. A plot is brought up relating to the millionaire detective himself... and it’s boring... and way too complicated to understand for how boring it is.

The art is okay, however it looks a bit off at times, lazy.

Don’t really remember any of the soundtracks. I think the opening was eh, not worth listening to.


Characters - 1
The characters had so much potential to be really well written. However they just exist. That’s all. They don’t develop, their traits aren’t explained, they don’t even really show a ton of emotion. I don’t get how anyone could really root for any of the characters when they are so plain and forgettable.


Enjoyment - 2
This anime was a chore to watch as it continued. I was hoping for a cool anime about solving mysterious with the character dynamic between the two detectives, but it was just a boring mess.


Overall - 2
It was so boring. I can’t find anything redeeming about this anime.

This anime could have been a lot better, and it does have an interesting concept which is the two detectives with different ideas of how a case should be solved having to work together. But this concept doesn’t actually play as big of a role as you think it will in the anime. Skip this and watch Great Pretender if you want something that’s actually funny and enjoyable.

I saw everyone super hyped about this anime back when it first came out but when I finally got around to watching it myself, I was so disappointed. I watched the first couple of episodes a while ago and then dropped it only to come back to it again to finish it just because I was hoping it'd get better. But it didn't get better, it was soooooo boring to watch. The fighting wasn't that eventful, the plot was generic, and the characters weren't all that likable. If an anime is only going to have 11 episodes then each episode should be packed with interesting ... things but this one was just not living up to the hype in my opinion.

I initially picked this up after seeing a few clips on YouTube, including a compilation of badass Daisuke Kanbe clips. I had high hopes for the show, in turn, but was sadly disappointed. The premise - a rich guy on a mission paired with a detective whose strict moral code hinders him more than helps - is certainly interesting. However, the episodes lack intensity or urgency; Kanbe-to-the-rescue with his OP-wealth-technology-combo quickly stales as it turns every mystery or difficult situation into a relatively benign and easy solve. Even at the end, when there is a true multiple-episode arc centering around a single case, the pacing ... continues to be rushed, leaving little time to savor any surprises or plot twists. As a result, the story just ends up being...boring. If you're looking for a complex mystery/detective series with a compelling plot, I would not recommend this anime. Alternatively, if you're looking for a classic OP MC story but not in isekai format, I would also not recommend this show - the badassery is ruined by the awkward pacing, and there's no comedic impact either. The show is not geared to be a comedy, but its quickly-resolved conflicts and OP MC also prevent it from being intense.

That all said, the greatest disappointment in this anime comes from the absolute lack of character development. Kanbe begins as a stoic ends-justify-the-means protagonist, and despite the backstory he is provided, he doesn't exhibit much emotional growth through the series. Making him remain poker-faced and unemotional may have been intentional, but it really makes the whole show taste like ramen noodles without the seasoning packet.

I didn't want to rip this show apart, but honestly, it stood out to me as being quite bad. For me, a generic and uninspiring show would rank as a 5/10. This, in my opinion, fares slightly worse - at least with a generic show, while there may not be originality, good execution can still lead to decent enjoyment.

Fresh story with bad approach. It could have been great with few changes but alas it wasn't. Most annoying part of this stew is characters, or that is to say one character which keeps throwing money at everything and somehow things start working in his favor. Whole idea of throwing money at problems wouldn't be as bad if the amount wasn't "unlimited". It's just a shit idea. Why solve crime with money, you have unlimited amount of it, just pay everyone not to commit crime. Problem solved.

Despite this being tagged as "mystery" there's no mystery in it. Neither is there any detective work. Some random ... crime happens. Good guy MC goes out of his jurisdiction to solve it. Rich guy comes with his toys. Problem solved. No one is ever punished, no one is ever questioned, no one ever wonders who makes these toys and how he gets all that money, there is nothing different from episode to episode. His AI "butler" has access to everything, has infinite money, has ability to change or access any files or camera anywhere. How did he get that, who knows. How is it that no one starts doubting where data gets leaked, who cares. Plot needs to happen and AI butler always has access to whatever plot currently needs. Other random characters appear from time to time to vomit some drivel about rich boy MC and how cold he is, especially compared to protag-kun and that's it.

In short, nothing matters other than money and everyone is salivating over rich dude because he has unlimited amount of it. Also, I have to point out how retarded it is to call the show "millionaire detective" and then in very first episode he spends a billion. Someone didn't go to school.

Only redeeming thing with this show is art and to a degree sound. Everything looks great and well made. It's just that the story is simply bad.

I honestly can't even call this average because story is anything but average, however I can't give it any higher score because aside from pretty animation there's no substance to it and I was struggling to go through episodes.
